I feel so blessed to live in the modern world at times. When people you have never even met reach out to you in your time of need. When my dad died I jumped right into figuring out what to do. Not because I wasn’t grieving but because I desperately needed something to do with myself. Everything took too much time and so I tried crocheting but my mind couldn’t keep track of the patterns. @thespinningsquid reached out and sent me this box of gorgeous fiber to spin. Something I find meditative and in my overwhelmed mind didn’t think to turn to. I haven’t gotten the time to really think about the finality of my dad’s passing yet. I’m considering choosing one of these to spin as a therapeutic outlet then use the yarn to make something for my dad’s ancestor altar with at least one of them. Thank you again Autumn!
Basket full of little balls of #Icelandic#wool that I'm spinning into sample sets of four :) this stuff pretty much throws itself at my wheel screaming 'SPIN ME SPIN MEEE', and then proceeds to practically spin itself.
This may be my favorite Revulet combo: titanium core, copper scales, stainless button, slugs and screws. For those interested I'm relaunching the Revulet campaign this Tuesday at noon EST on #kickstarter This version and numerous others will be available👍
Last night we went to Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village, which is an 1860s style pioneer village. In October they put on Pumpkinferno where they decorate the village with incredible carvings made out of pumpkins. We try to go every year, although we missed last year. Its always so beautiful and a lot of fun! I was happy to spot a Spinner made out of pumpkins! She was one of the "Upper Canada Village People"! Ha ha! .
Day 1 of #yarnandyogaatthehotsprings in mini skein samples! Today I’ve spun two breeds I hadn’t before, coopworth (both with silk - the blues with color shot through here) polworth (top) and have yak another go! (The first time I tried it disintegrated.) exciting! #handspunyarn
Finished knitting my #lolodiditgenesiswrap now to weave in the ends. First heard of this pattern from @grocerygirlsknit
