It is an unbelievable feeling to see results on the outside and push through a challenging workout, but what feels even better is how I feel inside. Like worth crying happy tears over.
The girl that was once so insecure and shy. The girl who couldn't stand up for herself and was too fearful to go after her dreams. The girl who once doubted His presence in her life. The girl who cared too much about what everyone else thought.
I now have the strength to overcome ALL of that!

Believe me I wish I could say I don't struggle to find MOTIVATION - but I'd be lying. Today feels tough 😞This time of year in the cold and the dark of Canada always gets me. I have a family history of severe depression and I always feel myself suffering this time of year from seasonal mood swings. Some days I feel great and others I feel like I could stay in bed and sleep and/or cry the day away. I know I'm not alone in feeling this way, but sometimes it sure feels like it.
Getting my workout done today was a necessity because I started a new program and it requires a DEDICATION and COMMITMENT to working out and clean eating...and all I can say is THANK GOODNESS. My program and my challengers are keeping me focused and moving forward - I know I'm the coach, but I need them as much as they need me 👭
If you are starting to feel those winter blues, make sure you are reaching out and trying to get the support you need. Self-care is a MUST. My everything hurts. I am currently shaking just trying to type this and I love it. Getting an incredible workout in makes me feel like I can conquer the day. I work until midnight, so I knew I needed to get my mindset right
Today’s workout was called AAA.I worked arms. I worked abs. And I worked....well, the “a” word that isn’t really appropriate so we will say butt. I got my butt kicked and by the end of the workout I was laughing hysterically with sweat pouring down my face. I felt the insecurities and sadness melt away with every drop of sweat
This program has challenged me more than any workout I have ever done in my life. It is teaching me patience, perseverance, and what happens when you don’t give up. I gave up for 15 years...I wanted to know how it felt not to.
I went from trying to end my life to celebrating it. I went from cutting my body daily to fueling it with the right foods and taking care of it. I went from depression to having the feeling of true happiness. I went from self hatred to self love.
I’m the best version of myself: physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally....and it’s only up from here.

First of all. . . Thank you. Thank you for following along with me on my journey to be better and create a better life from myself. I’m loving your feedback 😘😍❤️
Secondly, here is how I got started:
I got tired of all the yoyoing between being super into health and fitness and then falling off he bandwagon and not working out for months. I was trapped into a cycle of self-loathing because I wanted so much more for myself and hated that I wasn’t getting it.
So one day last year, I started studying how to create achievable goals.
I started small.
I kept it consistent.
I changed slowly.
I had patience with myself and with my journey.
I released myself from expectations and took it one day at a time.
I changed my values. ❤️
I have really been enjoying my fitness and health journey, but there has been a lot of unpleasantness. Change is uncomfortable. Growth is uncomfortable. I’ve had to give up my daily coffee shop visits and going out to eat. I’ve had to become more disciplined and intentional with my time.
So no, having to change hasn’t been Total sunshine and butterflies, but my values are better now and more aligned with my purpose.
I am happy with myself and with my life and with my choices and with where I’m going. It isn’t perfect by any means, but I am HAPPY. And that’s what matters, yes?? If you feel guilt instead of contentment with yourself or your life, take it as a sign to start searching within yourself for what is out of alignment with your purpose. Figure that shit out and change it, because you deserve to look forward to waking up every day and say I AM HAPPY and mean it❤️😘

Typical dining hall lunch coming at ya 🙌🏼 quinoa, veggies, and hummus :) sorry I was absent yesterday... lots of scheduling things going on 😨. Honestly it’s pretty anxiety provoking, but remaining optimistic is the best thing you can do! Some things are just out of your control, so just flow with it. Usually it ends with it working out, and we just got to trust the process.

But I was missing something FOR ME!! Guess I got the #mompreneur bug 🐜 because I started a fitness side gig that finally filled my cup (and not just with Merlot) 😎
So yea, I’m busy...

You should definitely try this spicy thai soup because it’s the bomb and I’m in love 🤤
* thai curry paste
* 1/2 cup of soy sauce
* 10g of miso paste
* rice noodles
* 2l (8 cups) of water
* savoy cabbage
* sweet corn
* green onion
* salt, pepper, chilli powder, parsley
* rice cuisine (optional but recommended)
1. Sauté the mushrooms in a big pot until gold brown, mix them with 1-2 tablespoons of your curry paste and let it cook some more.
2. Pour the water into the pot, mix in the miso paste and soy sauce and season it with salt, pepper and chilli powder. Slice up some savoy cabbage, put it into your broth and let that whole thing simmer for about 10 more minutes. (Tip: add a bit of rice cuisine for some extra creaminess)
3. Cook your rice noodles, rinse them and keep them separate until served.
4. When served add some fresh parsley, green onion and sweet corn and enjoy ✨
Last nights dinner, simple yet delicious. Sauteed mushrooms and onions in some olive oil on low for about 25-30 min, while roasting asparagus with s&p, olive oil and fresh minced garlic in the oven at 375° for 30 min. Heated up the cast iron, added @traderjoes ghee and seared these sirloins for 4-5 minutes on both sides.

They told me I couldn’t so I never tired.
The list goes on and on,but it always used to start by pointing a finger at anyone but myself.
When you let outside forces affect every avenue of your life you are no longer in control.When you let what others think of you dictate how you think of you, you are no longer in control.When you let others opinions and values overtake yours you are no longer in control.
This is your life to live.Take control back. Do what sets your soul on fire.Don’t be afraid to stand up for what you believe. Take others opinions for exactly that...their opinions and hold onto your values,your beliefs,your goals.
No good comes from letting others dictate the outcome of your life.No one should have that much control over your happiness.
You can take control back.It takes practice, and will, and focus...And it feels unnatural and uncomfortable at times, thats because you’ve spent most of your life not having to face those emotions in you.But taking RESPONSIBILITY for your emotional state is the most empowering thing you can do for yourself.
I turned to exercise and good nutrition to give me a clear calm mind and fill my body with much needed nutrients.Daily affirmations and practicing gratitude have grounded me.I’ve learned to love me first and foremost.

With all of the craziness of moving into a new house and traveling to Michigan for the holidays, I told myself that I would slow down in this new year. Of course, I have no idea how to actually do that and kept going 1000 miles a minute. .
But I do believe God had a different plan and he forced Adam and I to pump the brakes in a very unexpected way this past weekend. We both got hit with a stomach bug and all we could do was lay in bed an entire day. .
Obviously, this wasn’t the type of slowing down I had in mind. And neither of us have even had a stomach bug since we were children. We didn’t know what to think or what to do. We simply tried our best to take care of one another and fight through this bug together. It definitely gave our vows “In sickness and in health” a whole new meaning.
So I am sorry for being MIA these past few days. I had to listen to my body and take it slow. This morning, I feel like I’m almost back to myself. However, I will keep this as a reminder that it’s ok to slow down sometimes. Every new house project does not have to get done overnight. It’s going to take time and patience... and that is OK!
Side Note: This little furball has been glued to my side since we got sick. I just love his loving heart to pieces! 💕
BREAKFAST & LUNCH ✨
I took a photo of my breakfast but it was ugly as I already had a bite before taking a photo 🙈🐽🙉. It was beans on brown toast (whole meal wasn’t available at work!) with 1 sausage. I really dislike the brown toast 😩 so ate the middle which was soaked with the tomato sauce 😍🍅.
Lunch isn’t really lunch as I’m eating it now! I finished half day at work at 12, came home and threw a stew together for the slow cooker, then picked up my partner at work so we could go to a hospital appointment. Just got back home and now I’m snacking on this bowl of goodness 😋😋🍉🍇🍓🥝🍑
Getting in this shake right here (nutrition, superfoods, antioxidants, pre and probiotics etc.) is my #1 priority when it comes to my health. Its NOT a protein shake, it's the best way you could ever nourish your body. In November 2015, I had a toddler and a newborn while suffering from pre-eclampsia. My husband was working a ton and I had hardly any help. I have never felt so alone. Months after having Tyler my husband developed health issues and needed Kidney surgery for UPJ obstruction. He was going to need rest for 6 weeks after surgery. This was my breaking point. No way health-wise I could handle this stress. I couldn't treat my body the way I was and be there for my family the way I wanted to. I reached out to a friend who told me about "Shakeology" and I knew the ingredients/health benefits were just what I needed.
I was hesitant because of the price. $4 a day was a huge investment and I wasn't working at the time.
