Not many people know this but I cried the day ALI died, I had to sit down and think.... of course all good things come to an end, but for me it was literally like a piece of me had been taken away.
I remember when he came to ennis, I followed the car through the streets of ennis as if to soak up his energy and his magnificent life.
A man that lived a life with alot of struggle, standing up for what he believed in and fought everything even when he got knocked down "is that all you got george". Basically everything a hero can be.
Every word this man has ever said has seemed to impact my life in some way. I myself have been through struggle, I have experienced hardship and I have been knocked down, sometimes kept down for days.... but I have gotten back up and fought on.
The point Im trying to make here is that you can be knocked down, you can go through what you may deem as hell, but don't give in , don't throw in that towel, keep moving forward, each step, each word, each action.... you can do this I believe in you. "The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights." #ali#muhammadali#theworldsgreatest#idol#motivation#theking#fitness#life#fitfamiliy#hero#instafitness#1942#friday#fridaymotivation#struggle#hardship#overcame#mentalhealth#wellbeing#champion#mystory#mylife#dontgiveup#youcandothis#yougotit#ibelieveinyou
In John 11, Jesus arrived in Bethany after escaping those in Jerusalem who were trying to kill him. You know...because they didn’t like what he was saying and doing. So naturally, killing someone is their next plan. 🙄😳🤷🏻♀️
While there, Mary and Martha sent word to Jesus that their brother Lazarus was sick. These two girls know Jesus can heal and how cool is it to be bff with Jesus at this point? Their logic is perfect. Our brother is sick; call Jesus. “Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Yet when he heard Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days.” (John 11:5-6)
This verse is in my top 10 list of favorite verses. More specifically, verse 5. “Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.” If you know the rest of the story, you know Lazarus died. (Spoiler- sorry. But that’s not even the biggest spoiler💪🏼😳 so go read it!)
Jesus didn’t arrive in time to heal Lazarus before he died. Even though He knew Lazarus was sick, he opted for two more days in Bethany. He could have. He knew. But he didn’t.
We are ten days away from the 5 year anniversary of my apartment fire. I remember getting the call, hanging up, and repeating over and over “I know that you love me. I know that you love me.” It’s easy to turn our frustration towards Him when He doesn’t act in the way He should or could. We HAVE to remind ourselves that He loves us and that his heart towards us is good.
Insert your name today. “Jesus loves _________, yet hardship happened.” If He allowed it, He will carry you through it.•
The command to purify our hearts from sin was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs). Allah said:
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا
He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul.
Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10
And Allah said:
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى اللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to Allah with a pure heart.
Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89
We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrogance, and worldliness. In their place, we must adorn the heart with spiritual virtues such as generosity, compassion, benevolence, humility, and asceticism.
Purity of heart is also one of the defining characteristics of Abraham, upon him be peace.
وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِ لَإِبْرَاهِيمَ إِذْ جَاءَ رَبَّهُ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
Verily, among his people was Abraham, when he came to his Lord with a pure heart.
Surah As-Saffat 37:83-84
One of the primary methods we can use to purify our hearts is to perform sincere supplications and prayers according to the prophetic way (sunnah). Allah said:
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّىٰ
He has succeeded who purifies himself, who remembers the name of his Lord and prays.
Surah Al-A’la 87:14-15
🌹The immense rewards Allah ﷻ has in store for those who observe good character Textual proofs from the Qur’an and the Sunnah to this effect are numerous, including the following:
Good character will be the heaviest righteous deed to be placed on a person’s scale of deeds on the Day of Judgement.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “No deed that will be placed on the scale of deeds [on the Day of Judgement] will be heavier than good character. Indeed, a person with good character will attain the rank of those with a good record of voluntary fasts and prayers.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhee: 2003)
It is the very deed that will lead people to enter Paradise the most.
When the Prophet ﷺ was asked about which act leads people to enter Paradise the most, he replied, “Piety and good character.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhee: 2004; Sunan Ibn Maajah: 4246)
Of all people, those who have good character will be the closest to the Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgement.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “The dearest to me among you and the nearest to me on the Day of Judgement are those who have the best character.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhee: 2018)
The Prophet ﷺ guarantees a house in the highest part of Paradise to those who have good character:
“I guarantee a house in the surroundings of Paradise for those who give up arguing, even if they are in the right; and I guarantee a house in the middle of Paradise for those who abandon lying even when joking; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Paradise for those who have good character and manners.” (Sunan Abu Daawood: 4800)
Good character is one of the meritorious deeds in the sight of Allah and serves to give us a sense of inner fulfilment and happiness.

It's legit the hardest thing to watch someone you love going through the most and even worse when they know they're in a dark place and they are just fighting their hardest to keep the light out.
Darkness/Rock Bottom can become such a comfort, but it is toxic as hell. You will literally be sitting in the darkness watching your life passing you by. Sigh, I've been there and it sucks so much watching a loved one going through the same thing when you know that they can actually make it through, I did, you can too.
From Reaching Yellow River by Roberta Hill: I sang Honor Songs, crawled the railroad bridge to Canada. Dizzy from the ties, I hung between both worlds. Clans of blackbirds circled the nearby maple trees. The dark heart of me said no days more than these. As sundown kindled the sumacs, stunned by the river’s smile, I had no need for heat, no need to feel ashamed. Inside me then the sound of burning leaves. Tell them I tumbled through a gap on the horizon. No, say I stumbled through a hummock and fell in a pit of stars. 📷: @nickjaykdesign
No matter how many throe we are facing in our daily living, have faith in our God and he will take care of it. You are not alone in your battle, trust yourself before you do the same thing to other people. We have to believe that we could achieve many things we thought that we can not. Possess patience and determination to take over hardship and setbacks. Let us believe in ourselves that we deserve it and could have everything together with our Lord.
