This is ridiculous, but so productive!! Introducing the #becomingdrb set up: computer for typing paper, iPad Pro with notes from class, iPad mini with listening assignment playlist, textbook for citations, paper of assignment, coffee, water, and antique ship in the middle of the table to remind me of all the adventures this hard work is going to take me..... #gradschoolgrind#mydesk
First off, I'm not writing this post for people to feel sorry for me. I'm writing this post for the ONE person, ONLY ONE PERSON, who is reading this and going through a tough time. This time last year was the SECOND hardest thing (my dads heart attack was first 2 years ago) I have been through in my entire life thus far personally. Not a lot of people know what actually happened. The pain, the tears, the emotional rollercoaster that I went through. The crazy part is that it had nothing to do financially. That was the only part that was actually under control (and if you're struggling there-get financially educated). See most situations in life is how you react to them, but what happens when you have never been in that particular situation before? What happens when you can't tell people what is going on because your ego is in the way? What happens when you have the most amazing friends and family, but can't bring yourself to tell them? What happens if....I'm here to tell you that we all make mistakes, we all have things in our past that we aren't proud of, we all go through difficult times. (And it's not that easy, shit hurts A LOT) Are you going to let the difficult time keep you from living your dream? Are you going to let the one accident change direction of your original plan? Are you going to let it define who you are when it really isn't who you truly are in your core? If you need the permission, I'm giving it to you now. Dream Big, Have a Plan and Execute that Plan. Every. Single. Day. #grateful#peaceofmind#oneperson#roughtimes#doesntgeteasier#yougetbetter#areyougoingtofold#success#mindset#haveaplan#excutetheplan#10X#themarketdoesntcare
FITNESS TRAINING PROGRAMS.
IF you are working with a personal trainer, coach, or anyone prescribing you workouts then you need to understand exactly what you're investing in. Your WORKOUTS should be written with a SPECIFIC PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE. They are not suppose to be RANDOM. The internet is full of workouts you can download, but that doesn't mean they are right or appropriate for YOU. How a program is constructed WILL change the results you get and be the difference of achieving your desired goal or not. This is an example of intent with programming. In 2015 I was working with a strength & conditioning coach. Our intent was to get as STRONG as possible. I was 15 lbs heavier then. Today, I am training for a bikini competition. Augementing Shape, Size & Symmetry is the intent here. You can see a difference in the back between the 2 years.
I post this because I see people everyday following workouts on their phones that are NOT appropriate for them OR I am asked to just "write a quick one" for someone. That isn't how it is suppose to work, particularly if you are paying for it.
Ps. Photo mislabeled. Suppose to say Sept not Oct. Thanks for the catch @kevswiz
Breathe. In life. In workout. In music. Breathe. Breath enables so much, energized and invigorates .... and today, it helped me up the weight during day 46/60, isometric conditioning. Wahooo! #strongereveryday#runnerswholift#newtolifting
Abs are made it the kitchen, not the gym. Your results are 30% workouts and 70% nutrition. So thankful for my super-food shake this afternoon. It keeps me out of the drive-thru, it's quick, easy and gives me the energy I need to get through the afternoon. Love it!
I never really made fried fish 🐟 before, but it came out great, even the next day. Grey sole dipped in egg and @bobsredmill #paleoflour , pan fried in organic palm oil, served with a little leftover grass fed beef, roasted shishito peppers 🌶 and lots and lots of local organic broccoli rabe from @ironwoodfarmny. Everything was made ahead except the greens so dinner took 10 minutes to prepare. #mealprep#haveaplan#eatyourgreens#realfood#21dsd#yum
I wasn't able to have a full nights rest just thinking of those 30 little angels that are missing in Mexico😔 the lives that were lost and the ones that are still missing. Be very prepared Los Angeles, we live right under the San Andreas fault. #haveaplan#fuerzamexico 🇲🇽 #
Next, the unexpected happened. A dear friend of mine, also a hearty drinker, told me something shocking. She decided she was done, too. Done with feeling bad for herself and waiting for the right time. She told me that seeing me do it gave her confidence that she could, too. She committed to a fitness program and a new way of life. Wow!! This whole time I thought I was doing this for me. I hadn't even thought about how I would be impacting others. .
Is it hard? Yes. Am I proud? Yes. Do we still drink beer? Yes. As many? Absolutely, not. Are we crushing our fitness goals? Slowly but surely. Do we feel amazing? You better believe it! (3 of 3)
When I decided to go all in with my fitness program I knew I wouldn't be able to drink as much. When I really thought about it, I knew I was going to have to make some major changes and, in doing so, my bad habit needed to be crushed. 😞
So, I thought long and hard about what I really wanted. I wrote it down. I was focused and determined. Then, I told people. That's when it got real. I doubt they believed me. Honestly, I wasn't 100% sure I believed myself. But each day, as I came one step closer to my goal, the belief grew and so did my confidence. (2 of 3)
