I have been receiving the cutest messages from you guys telling me you've been loving my stories/updates on my trip and that makes me SO HAPPY! I am more than just a marble slab and a piece of avocado toast so I'm thankful you guys appreciate seeing the other side of my life! It's our last night in Boston and it is raining! We're also exhausted from a lot of walking earlier today and just want to relax. Blaze Pizza (they have vegan cheese!) is across the street from our hotel @revereboston so we went back and now we're chilling and watching Netflix. Revere Hotel has a Netflix app on their TV system so we were able to just log in and watch ALL DA SHOWS! We are glad that we didn't end up lugging our laptops/HDMI cords because this hotel literally has everything and I'm so damn happy about it! Enjoy your night guys! #wealsohavecocktails#BeRevered
Even though I eat pretty well most of the time I do like to do a few days of "simple eating" with lots of fresh juice & pureed soups a couple of times a year (especially with the change of seasons). It's a great way to reassess your relationship with food and give your body a break to focus on self cleaning. I can highly recommend this company here in Auckland #freshpress
I'm making deodorant! I ran out a while ago and we were going out of town so I bought some Tom's but man that shit doesn't work for me! I'm sorry if you have smelled my armpits in the past few months. Homemade deo is the only stuff that works for me. I even put a probiotic in it but I'm skeptical about it actually working. This recipe is slightly different than what I usually do. I wrote a blog about my most special recipe that I will link in the bio. 🙆#nomorestankypits Oh and in case you are wondering I don't put beer in my deo, I'm just drinking that.
What do you lose when you decide to follow a vegan lifestyle? Absolutely nothing. You gain compassion, health and these delicious gin donuts. You also stop contributing to the suffering and murder of millions of animals a year. So treat yourself with a donut and make a plant based dish this weekend 🍩🌱🍩
CRAVING this 😍
(also lol that my friend called the post where I said I didn't like sweet potatoes, my 'most controversial post ever' 😂.)
(for the record the slice with sweet potatoes in this picture wasn't mine, but I did try a bite as part of my process to force myself to like them. I'M TRYING, OK!)
Grilled corn with spicy chipotle mayo, almond parm and fresh cilantro ✨ creating the menu for @blissfulgatherings was totally my jam. @lilanattalie and I are soooo excited to be planning the second blissful supper! Keep your eyes open for an announcement really soon!
When I'm in Hilo, I always have to make a stop in to one of my favorite places, the @thelocavorestore . Here you will find the highest quality fruit (as well as other local produce and products) on the big island, sourced from small, local farms. No matter what time of the year, rare and exotic fruits can be found here. I have tried many of my 'first time' fruits from here. Make sure you talk to whoever is working, they are always super friendly and will let you know what's good ;) Yesterday we stopped in after hearing they had ripe sharwil and butter avocados, and found ourselves lured by the aroma and vibrant colors of the mango varieties. I was especially curious about the 'Momik' variety (second from left in picture) which was described as the "bleu cheese of mangoes" and "super pungent". Hearing that is enough to get me excited as a lover of pungent fruits like durian, noni, and cempedak. This morning we sampled it along with three other varieties Raposa, Florigon, and Harder. The Momik was the first one I tasted and the first thing I ate in the day, my senses were super heightened. When I bit into it there was such a distinct flavor but I really cannot put a word on it. I have tasted it one other time in a mango before, but I would never describe the flavor of it as mango-like. It has a unique punch, that is almost as if the mango was lightly coated in butter and alcohol. The taste wasn't quite like fermented fruit but it contains this pungent bite to it. It was also sweet and juicy, but I wouldn't recommend this mango to someone who just likes the sweet and tangy taste of a mango, but for someone looking for a unique taste experience that is slightly off in its own way. The Raposa mango was enjoyable, VERY juicy, but a little mild and to me almost watery. The Florigon to me had a super creamy smooth texture, tasted almost like a light mango creme. The harder was Erika's favorite, and she described it to have a strong piña colada taste, which also lightly came through for me.
I love taste testing different varieties of the same fruit and seeing how diverse they can get. I love them all just as I love all you beautiful humans reading this.
omg I've been crazy lately! haven't posted in a quick bit but I am so excited to start posting food I make in my new kitchen 🤓 all vegan on a budget of course because I'm in college. today after shopping me and my friend stopped at mad mex in cbus to pick up vegan tacos- my favorite are mushroom tacos 😋🍄 and you might notice I took a bite before I could take the picture.. I can't help myself 😂 if you're in college, what school do you go to? #vegan#vegansofig#whatveganseat#veganoptions#mexican#hclf#plantbased
Hi Instagram! This is it. Day one of my beautiful vegan food journey. My goal, along with other vegan food enthusiasts out there, is to show people how easy, delicious, healthy and affordable vegan food can be.
Above all, I hope to inspire at least one of you to try something new and incorporate fun into cooking. So many of us are constantly on the run that we have lost touch with what it truly feels like to bask in the joys of cooking at home. Lessons are learned in a kitchen. Love is shared in a kitchen. People come together in a kitchen. I want to remind people of that with my food.
This was also my very first day YouTubing! I made a short video on how to make this recipe. If you would like to check it out, click the link in my bio.
One day, I hope to open a cafe that will only serve beautifully colorful healthy vegan food. I want to incorporate nutrition as well and teach others about wellness. For now though, I'm going to stick with Instagram. Enjoy😋
Slouching VS Posing 👉🏽 Ya'll knew this pic was coming eventually.
I've been debating posting this for a few days, but I think it's important to acknowledge/appreciate all body types in all phases of the day. This was post workout, and I'm not the leanest/fittest I've ever been. I've actually had a few weeks off of gym and have been taking it easy in order to fully recover + rejuvenate after my tonsillectomy 🌱 And that's OKAY. We can't be perfect every day of every week of every year. Sometimes life happens, and we have to prioritise different things.
My priority was health >> and sometimes that means NO gym.
I have fitness goals (ofc), but the difference is that I don't let them consume me or CONTROL me. I recognise when I need to rest, and that I need to have patience in order to heal.
So yeah, just your daily reminder that all bods are beautiful not matter what stage of life you're in right now, and that lighting/posing greatly impacts the way we can present ourselves on social media. In fact, majority of the time I look like NEITHER of these pics - especially after a day of #treats 😂 Love your body fam, it can do some pretty wonderful things.
we made it!! what a journey it's been. I feel so grateful that I've gotten to experience so many parts of the country in such a short amount of time, it definitely makes me appreciate where I'm from a whole lot more. lucky for me, the adventure isn't over quiiiite yet. I still get a full day in San Fran tomorrow! Any vegan places I should try besides vegan burg?? 😁

🌟Self care Saturdays🌟 As the week draws to a close, it's so important to check in with yourself after a long week - how are you feeling? Ask yourself this and try and get a real and raw answer - are you stressed, sad, happy, anxious, excited? So often we can walk through life so distracted and at such a fast pace that we don't even notice how we are truly feeling and leave it all to bottle up inside. So today, this is your little reminder to take some time out to focus on YOU & to check in & take care of yourself 💙 happy weekend! 😘

Good morning!! So I recently discovered that you could just pan-fry (?) one serving of granola haha. I've always avoifed making batches of granola because I easily inhale that stuff - and that's adding hundred of unnecessary calories to my macros bank. Breakfast today is my usual tumeric zucchini oats topped with berries and granola 😋
Here's the recipe to this exact granola:
1tsp dessicated coconut (wish I had flakes though!)
1tsp chia seeds
1tsp cacao nibs
I heated up a little bit of coconut oil in a pan and tossed all the ingredients together until the aroma became fragrant and everything browned. I also have pumpkin seeds, cranberries and buckinis that i'll be adding in future mixes. What are your fave things to have in #granola ?
Today i'm grateful to have the opportunity to watch a live performance by Australia's jnr Worlds pair figure skating @alexandrovskaya__k and @h_d22 ⛸ It'll be my first time watching an ice performance and i'm super keeeeeeeen 🙌
Dreaming about my ugly chocolate coated strawberries while I sit at the airport waiting for my flight to ADL. The chocolate was a combination of Frey 85% dark chocolate and 2tbsp of @pureharvest hazelnut cocoa spread. Melted the two together for a delish choc-hazelnut coating. 👌
