Today I sat with new friends at an art therapy workshop that our city offered. We made a mess but we also made some beautiful things. And isn't that like life? Making messes while creating a really beautiful life? Really grateful I get to live in this place. And do these things. And know these people. #thankful#healingthroughart#lovewhereyoulive

This illustration is not in a hospital, but it could be, because mental issues are real in this setting and everywhere.
This image beautifully portrays the power of the mind to take you to the most beautiful or dark places. .

Eurghmygod. I finally finished this. Its actually took me around 25 hours.. why am i so bad this ?! Idk 🤔
I wanted illustrate how our mental state can not only inflict on our selves can affect not just us but who or what is around us we are well and when we are in that good place we allow for ourselves to grow as people. We can gain new oppurtunities to live and to smile and that makes us see the possitivity and give out that possitivy as well. And to other we appear more viberant and we can become more beautiful. But then when your stuck amd so wrapped up in your mental health conditions or your eating disorders the world appears tainted and you close your self off you can say cruel things.. reject anything possitive as you in turn begin to taint whats around you.. nothing grows no happiness or life.. and it can really hurt others... not by intention.. having a disorder of any kind doesn't make you a bad person by any means. But it can change so much about you and your life when your trapped in the depths of it. ☈⛈
And as the night grows darker the second series of prints, "Metamorphosis" emerge within flickering light shadows ✨
There are ten prints available out of this eleven print set! Each print having its own shifting color code 🌈

Thank YOU for the continuous L💞VE & sUPport because if it was not for you, I would not be where I am today!
I have been going back and forth to this. It helps me to release some of the tension, the lump in my throat so I can function on a day to day basis. I have found that painting help me regulate my emotions about 3 years ago. But I never took it as a career, just something to release the energy inside until now. About 2 years ago, while I helped my mom taking care of my dad( he had a stroke so he has been paralyzed) I started painting again to help me cope with the situation. Until now I have been painting ever since. I hope that when you see it, it reveals a part of me that hides in them. This one is called “ Hidden “ as most of us hide how we truly feel inside, when it gets to the center. It takes you down the rabbit hole. Thank you for reading this. #healingthroughart#oilpainting#oiloncanvas#flowerartist#flowerpainting#justpaintings#purpleflower#workinprogress
After every @EastsidePoetry, we leave in awe of the magic that surrounds us. Last Wednesday marked our last #OpenMic Night of 2017 and we can't wait for 2018! Thank you to @InnerCityArts | @TheRosenthalTheater, our amazing hosts, @Luisita_Garcia_Comedy and @NicoleSerrato, AND to everyone (our artists and supporters) who came together and joined in the #HealingThroughArt & #HealingThroughCommunity every month. See you all next year!
It's been a week since our last Eastside Poetry #OpenMic Night of 2017 and we are already having withdrawals! We can't THANK our #Eastsider Community, old and new, enough for all the love, #heART and soul that you've shared with us this year. Eastside Poetry is only possible because of all your hard work, bravery and dedication. AND is only possible for the love that has been shown to us by @InnerCityArts, who welcomed us with open arms this year and allowed us to call @TheRosenthalTheater, HOME! We've watched you all grow before our eyes. Keep writing and creating... We can't wait to see what you all bring to 2018! #HealingThroughArt
Very inspired by many of my instagram friends and their ability to create. And also, their perseverance to keep creating, crafting, and 'making' through life's ups and downs. I know creativity is in my makeup, it's in my blood. I've just been away from it for a longgggg time.
So, here's a first attempt...a freehand sketch. I hadn't taken the time to go out and buy 'good' art supplies, so this was done with a No. 2 pencil and 3 colored pencils from a kids' set I had here for my nieces.
I sketched it while looking at a very pretty painted fox on a 5 x 7 card that I got at an art festival last weekend. (Feel terrible that I can't credit the original artist, but, I can't remember her name...and surprisingly, her info is no where on her card!) 😕
Inspired by many artists and art that I've seen on IG but... @hayleypie @troispetitesfilles have motivated me to just BEGIN. Something. Anything.
So, here's a little fox.
