Mmm mmm ready to dig into this! I call it "Han's healing soup" 😜🥕✨I'm super lucky I've grown up in a family that values healthy food, so luckily I've been able to experience healthy food that's tasty and know that is doesn't have to be bland or boring. There seems to be so many opinions around food now- eat this, don't eat this, this is toxic, etc etc. At the end of the day we are all different, which means we're going to like and need different foods. For me personally my diet is vegetarian, with a little goats & sheep dairy; ghee, feta, goats yoghurt, and the occasional eggs. What I've found to be the most helpful in healing is; sticking to food in its most natural form (dodging those packets), eating an abundance of organic fruit & veg, avoiding preservatives and additives, and treating yourself occasionally (I know I could never stick to a strict diet, so if I'm eating 90% healthy most of the time then I know I can go nuts on the remaining 10% ... hello potato cakes 🙊). We had our last meet of the regular season for the boys today! It was crazy hot and the sun was blazing! They ran hard and I was so proud of their entire team! We needed to make a side for the team picnic after the meet. I tried to think of something everyone would like and kids with food allergies/intolerances could eat. My answer was fruit!! It was a big hit and was so easy to put together! I am so tired right now and ready to sleep!! I have a few more things to get done and I still need to make a grocery list!! Would someone add like 6 more hours to the day because I really need it!!!

My skin has been super dry, I’m just feeling like I need to make a change. I started moisturizer withdrawal today. Last time I tried this my skin flared. It’s not looking great tonight, but I’m going to give it a shot. I’m hopeful that this will get me past the endless dry flakey place I’ve been in. I’m still mourning “regular food”. I DESPISE cooking so this eating clean is wearing me down. I love comfort food like mashed potatoes and gravy, spaghetti, casseroles, and junk food like pizza, burgers, and nachos.  Today I honestly feel like a junkie......I cried because Brian had chicken tenders, potato wedges, and biscuits while I had a water.  We were at a function and that is what was served.  After our meeting was finished we went to Price Chopper and I literally threw a fit like a child because I was getting myself a salad and that is NOT at all what I wanted.  I’m not on a diet, although I need to lose weight.  I eat this way because of my health.  I feel so much better so WHY is this SO hard??!? Yesterday we were out of town for the entire day so ya, we had to eat out.  Is it even possible to eat decently when you eat out?? I did eat “This” although I drooled over “That”. If you know me personally or have been following me a while you know how much I love love love my superfoods shakes and smoothies!!! 💕🙌🏼 I just find it such a fast, easy, delicious way to ensure I’m getting all my daily nutrients minerals multivitamins and superfood goodness in one go – without all the guesswork of what percentage of vitamin C something has or what kind of antioxidants I need daily… And who has time to keep track of all that anyway?! 🤷🏼‍♀️
Honestly, I have never been good at keeping a running record in my head of all the things that are good for me, the amounts I need in a day, the food labels I read and try to tally up… it just gets insane when you’re trying to make an effort to give your body what it needs – kudos to you if you have that kind of photographic memory and are able to balance all that every single day!! #notthisgirl 
And I’ve also been known, #TruthBomb , to grab a quick snack on the go or deviate from my intended plan – because 80/20 lifestyle yo! 🤙🏼 And as much as I try to keep that in check I love the comfort I get from doing that with this daily smoothie that tastes like ice cream - I know that I’ve already gotten nearly all of the daily nutrients my body needs and I don’t need to worry! Hallelujah! 🙌🏼

Last meet of the regular season today so I am loading up my runners with some #glutenfree carbs!! If you have not tried @ottos_cassava_flour yet you should! It is the best for baking!! I also added some collagen for protein and joints. Dominic got some coconut water and extra collagen for his joints in his green smoothie. We have a team picnic after the meet so I am making some #dairyfreee pizza for Alex and a fruit tray to share. Sometimes dealing with food intolerance can be tough but it is worth it to see them healthy and happy! ❤

Mindful eating is key. 🙌 It's been a huge focus of mine lately. I often find it difficult to accurately follow hunger cues throughout the week with my 9-5 job. I have to hurriedly eat my lunch at 12 pm and often don't appreciate what's set in front of me. 😣 I love the weekends when I can fully listen to my body and fuel it properly, without time restrictions. ☺️ Sometimes you just want a few snacks like this apple with sunflower butter, cinnamon, cacao nibs and hemp seeds. 🍎 SO delicious! #fuelyourbody #mindfuleating

Broth is a beautiful way to incorporate medicine into your body.  My broth is loaded with reishi mushroom, devils club root, ginger, turmeric, dandelion root, milk thistle seed.  I’m spicing this batch up with the classic mulling spice blend of cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and orange peel.  Add a bit of local raw honey, fresh apple cider, and it’s the best good morning cup of you life.  Revivifying.

So here is me lifting 175 and feeling like it's my first time. Truth is I haven't been feeling very good lately and a couple weeks ago I pulled something in my hip and decided to take some time off. So here is me getting back under the bar, I know it will get easier quickly. I thought I would feel better to take time off but I actually felt worse. My health issues got worse, my hip never felt better and emotionally I felt like garbage. Sometimes a person just needs those endorphins, that me time and that meditation you get when you lift heavy weight or do whatever you do. So I'm deciding to just implement more preventative maintenance, since I know I don't do enough. I'm having a chat with doctor/functional medicine doc on Tuesday and see if we can find the root causes of the inflammation I have going on. PUPPIES | not a dry eye in the house all morning, and as I write this tears are streaming down my face. Santa was my first baby, and he's been our wonderful pet for 8 years. Coda came along a few years later, completed our family and they've been the best of friends ever since. With Noah's worsening allergy to their saliva we've been keeping this great divide in our home that we can no longer maintain. Noah hasn't played in his backyard for months and they're often left to themselves while all my time is spent on healing our son. While our hearts are broken, @kenlammelb and I feel blessed to have found them a lovely whippet-crazy mamma who will love them dearly, cuddle them unconditionally, walk them daily and keep us updated with lots of photos. 4 honeycrisp apples, cored, peeled and sliced

2 tablespoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon liquid stevia (I might have preferred just 1/4 teaspoon instead)

Melt butter.  Toss in remaining ingredients and cook on medium heat for 8-10 minutes.

〰There was a time when I believed I would be on meds my whole life, & permanently identified with labels. The side effects were very heavy. I remember thinking how extreme the side effects were from my normal baseline. I found that odd & disturbing. It didn't sit well with me.
〰Despite the unnerving physical & mental side effects, I gave them a shot. Antidepressant. Antipsychotic. Anxiolytic. Whatever 'high' they initially fed my brain, was a fleeting illusory relief. Their efficacy wore off & the side effects felt magnified. The irritation, restlessness, indifference, demotivation, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, zombie like paralysis all felt exaggerated. Symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, & Mania rebounded harsher than before the meds.
〰My desperation had led me back to the very system I left, in search for help. I saw a few different doctors, therapists, switched my meds around multiple times. Each path was a feeble, futile fail.
🌟Do I really want to be dependent on psych drugs that aren't curing me, but instead suppressing who I am and my ability to feel? Am I going to comply with a system that has yet to provide an effective cure for Mental Health? Am I going to accept their version of truth because I'm expected to trust Doctors?
〰I realized I would rather be out of my mind off the drugs, versus being out of my mind on the drugs with their endless list of intrusive side effects.
🌟I tossed out their chemistry and became the experimenter of my own experiment. The 'Experiencer' and the 'Experience.' Both perspectives I release to you through posts written and those yet to pen. With intentions to reach any & all, especially those who may still believe it's a permanent sentence, as I once did. With love I say, it is as impermanent as the perspective attached to it.

The side effects were very heavy. I remember thinking how extreme the side effects were from my normal baseline. I found that odd & disturbing. It didn't sit well with me. 〰Despite the unnerving physical & mental side effects, I gave them a shot. Antidepressant. Antipsychotic. Anxiolytic. Whatever 'high' they initially fed my brain, was a fleeting illusory relief. Their efficacy wore off & the side effects felt magnified. The irritation, restlessness, indifference, demotivation, fatigue, suicidal thoughts, zombie like paralysis all felt exaggerated. We had pumpkin quesadillas, courgette koftas, living sushi, raw pizza with pine nut chips, tomato consommé soup, lots of desserts (but no photos as we started our degustation from desserts today and they disappeared immediately 💕 ) 
But FOOD is so much more than just what’s on our plates. Can't wait to start creating ethereal deliciousness for the body, soul and mind.

I have to admit...I am LOVING these healthy versions of comfort food. Jam packed FULL of nutrients without the heavy feeling after a traditional potato dish! I have so much ENERGY right now...I could probably run a marathon! (After the allotted 30 minute wait time after you eat 😒).

My Farmers Market Haul this week: 4 dozen eggs from pastured hens, 2 bags of tatsoi, 3 bags of lettuce (woohoo!  My favorite veggie!), a giant mound of green beans (because they’re the most perfect green beans you’ve ever seen!), purple sweet potatoes, sweet peppers, 2 bags of spinach, and rainbow carrots.  I also came home with a beautiful pair of earrings.  I bartered this week with my book, so my haul was unusually cheap!  Lol! @fryfarm @frontfieldfarm @mercierorchards

After three nights in London we were ready for our next adventure. We had an morning flight to Madrid. Never been there before, so I had no expectations. The city blew me away! We walked through beautiful parks, up a hill too a temple, saw colorful sunsets and smelled roses at a flower museum. What suprised me the most was the relaxed feeling the city gave me. It was for the most so calm, not the hectic city life as I know from London or Paris. I watched a man do yoga in the park, I closed my eyes and felt peaceful. Of course it had busy streets as well, but we didn't go there that much. We ate amazing food and visited the same gluten free restaurant several times, we wanted so much from their menu. I feel so grateful for going on this trip. I knew I pushed my limits all though we napped (took a siesta) every day. When we were safe home I pretty much collapsed in bed. Expected that, so I made no plans for the upcoming days. I mostly slept the first 30 h and now I feel better. Happy, grateful and with new memories.🙏🏼 Have a great weekend lovelies! Supper took about 3 minutes to make! The fried plantain, rice, cabbage and carrots were all from yesterday. I just added a can of brown chickpeas, tomato, grapes and cucumbers I pickled overnight and it was done.

The most difficult part of being vegan so far is eating out at restaurants that were not chosen by me. If you or someone you know are newly transitioned vegans, my advice would be to eat out less. Home cook your meals more. It's better for you that way anyways and you can be more Certain of the ingredients going into your food. 
But this was good. Vegan pasta with spinach, tomatoes, garlic and mushrooms in a garlic and olive oil sauce. 👌
