Mr Six was having a very bad day. He ended up in his room, shouting and throwing things about. A short time later I found this note on the outside of his door. He had identified the reason he wasn't coping with life, and he was right!
How often as adults do we also know that we need to get to sleep earlier in order to manage our busy lives with a smile, yet still stay up too late on a regular basis?
Sleep is the equivalent of a free magic pill which brings us energy, health and happiness, so let's use it! I often suggest to clients that they set an alarm at a set time to stop doing chores and to wind down, then another at the time that they need to go to sleep. This one simple practice can be life changing. Try it!

I just want to be eating ice cream with brownies and peanut butter right now, watching some Modern Family on the couch in my pjs 😇. What’s your go-to show when you need to just zone out and relax? Sometimes I feel guilty for sitting down and watching a show because I feel like I should be working, studying, reading, researching, doing homework, etc. But sometimes turning your brain off for a bit and unwinding just puts you in a better mood and you then become more productive than you would’ve been before! You need to just slooooow down sometimes. In the words of my fave, Phil Dunphy, slow is smooth and smooth is fast 🐌🐆😂

It was almost 8 years ago that I found myself in the MOST PAIN I had ever been in - in my whole life. (And no, I wasn't in labor...lol...my first experience with that was only 3 years ago. And I would say labor is now my most painful experience, but this is a VERY close second 😑😝😑 I digress...)

Hi, I'm Sallie. And when I was 19, I had a health crisis. The doctors had no explanation. I slept with my hands numbed by ice packs because the pain was excruciating. My health was standing between me and my dream of being a violist. Then, I finally found my path to healing. It's been a journey and I'm still on that journey, ever learning and discovering.

I don't have to agree with everything Rick Warren says to agree that this is true. ❤️ It is hard for me to say, "Yes, I am thankful for those painful experiences." But do I admit, if it were not for them, I would not have found myself in this perfectly positioned place to help others. 😊

2. because it was taken almost exactly four years ago 😚  and
3. because I was about to marry the man who would complete and solidify this new growing passion inside of me to lead people to find healing for their bodies and the land through the sourcing and preparing of nutrient dense food ❤️❤️❤️

One of the biggest stresses of parents of young kids can be how to get them to eat vegetables! 
Kids go through stages of wanting to eat/not wanting to eat a range of things. 
Sometimes it feels like nothing works! But here are some ideas on what we can do to help encourage and establish healthy eating patterns! 🍇 Enjoy healthy foods yourself - young children model their eating from their parents. As busy mumma’s (and dads!) we can sometimes forget about us and not eat/only eat when they are asleep/eat sparingly in stolen moments - our kids see this (or not see what we eat!) and learn from that behaviour 🥑 Provide access to a wide variety of foods - More variety = more nutrients. This will increase likelihood of food acceptance and taste preferences for a wider range of foods
🥝 Include a range of nutrient dense healthy foods. Children who accept and become used to eating healthy foods early in life will have a far greater chance of maintaining this later in life
🍒 Encourage children to eat the same foods as the rest of the family 🥦 Eating as a family - eating together will allow children to model eating patterns as well as gain essential communication skills 🍑 Like attracts like - the more of the good stuff we can get in - the more they will crave it.

It might feel like all/some/none of this works on some days, but it’s important to remember to continue to do this! It’s what we do consistently everyday that matters long term 🥒🥕🍍 Meanwhile, on those bad days, I’m super stoked to have our nutrient insurance policy of fruit and veg gummies so I know Ava is getting nutrients every day! 💃🍒🥦🍅

I gave it a fancier name for publishing purposes, but around here we just call it the ‘Brussels sprouts mixture’ and trust us, you’re going to want to try it. I know Brussels sprouts are almost never on people’s list of favorite veggies, it wasn’t even on mine, but with this recipe they are damn good, and good for you too. Win, win!

After coming off of my gestational diabetes diet after pregnancy I went straight back to sugar and felt worse than I did during pregnancy. 🙄Now despite lack of sleep, I am generally waking up each morning feeling more energized and not in constant battle with sugar levels being out of whack. #nonscalevictory 💥

Day 6 of #ShapingAsanas is Headstand, and I'm still very uncomfortable (aka terrified) of practicing this pose unsupported. I just need to be diligent and practice more often with the wall and then wean myself away from it. I could feel even in practicing today I absolutely have the strength necessary to get into and hold this pose, I just don't allow myself to do so because of fear. I will overcome this, but the only way to do so is by practicing. So practice I must.⠀

Recently I had something that didn’t work out that I was really excited about. At the time I didn’t realize why this had happened, but it absolutely happened for a reason. That thing falling through made it so I was able to come to Miami where I learned so much, had breakthroughs as a person and as a business person.
.
When I was stuck in the “why me” mentality when I️ was going through health problems, at the time I️ was quite mad, pissed off at the world and just upset. It was for a much greater purpose. Now I️ can speak to women about the stress of your finances and how it impacts your physical and mental health at a level greater than most people could ever understand. I wouldn’t have this incredible real life experience and wouldn’t have been able to connect the two.

You are where you are for a bigger purpose, a lesson to be learned, a struggle to help you grow, an experience to help you discover your true calling, etc.
.
Use these experiences to strengthen and empower you, to be your fuel to skyrocket your mental, physical and financial health. Don’t dwell or stew on these experiences. Learn from these so you can make more educated decisions in the future, learn the lessons that the situation can teach you and work on improving your mindset and perspective.

This may not seem extreme, but this is me after a long weekend(plus some) full of fun vacation...and what feels like to me, went straight to the belly🤰🏻-> no but really it’s a not enough H20, heavy food filled, fiberless bod. 👎🏻 {obviously showing what i feel/look like now without sucking in on the left and holding my breath trying to see any sign of abs on the right..IG reality check}😝.

Life happens! We eat out when we have girls night, drink wine over laughter, eat fro yo🍦like it’s our job, devour too many plates at a buffet, sh*t happens and we live in the moment💃🏻..and that’s perfectly OK!
. 
I may not feel my best at this exact moment, but I’m sure as heck not going to beat myself up over it. And neither should you! 💕

Bloating is normal🙋🏻‍♀️..no all your hard work hasn’t gone down the drain; just get back to your routine, kick booty at meal prepping, hydrating & exercising, & you’ll feel better in no time!💃🏻

Day 11 of #TwistedTurkeys is Twisted Wide Legged Forward Bend, and I've done many variations of twisting and forward bending, but never this fun Bound one. This felt great. Have I mentioned that I love to twist 😅

Day 20 + Mental purge⠀
Years ago a friend of mine introduced me to an exercise called Morning Pages. Anyone who has read the book "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron will recognize this practice. Essentially, it's a brain dump. Morning Pages are three pages of longhand, stream of consciousness writing, done first thing in the morning. The purpose is to write down whatever weird thoughts continually cross your mind or the little in-cohesive bits that are clogging your head. Just getting them out will give you relief. These pages are for your eyes only and there is no way to do it wrong. Having a place to purge out all the minutiae of your daily thoughts helps to clear the mind and ease anxiety. ⠀
You may have just read "three pages of longhand" and thought: nope, uh-uh. Who has time?⠀
Just hear me out. We wake up every morning with a ton of stuff floating around in our minds. We need to channel that energy and get it out. Whether you write three pages or just three paragraphs, starting a regular journaling practice has incredible benefits. Having a safe place to purge out whatever is on your mind can be life-changing. Writing can help sweep away anxiety. Envy, anger, fear, vulnerability, procrastination…these emotions, when put to paper, are easier seen for what they are. By getting it out and looking at it, you realize it’s not that bad. Journaling helps an over-active mind find serenity and clears the mind of the unnecessary.⠀

I’ve had a few questions lately about personal care products I recommend that don’t contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals such as phthalate, parabens & synthetic fragrances. It’s important to minimise your exposure to these, especially for women and girls, as they are linked to hormonal disruption, infertility and cancer.
✨We are lucky these days that there are plenty of ethical businesses making lots of beautiful, effective and safe alternatives - I’ve just included some of the things I’m using at the moment but there’s lots out there to choose from!
✨This selection is all either Australian or New Zealand made, and just a small sample of the options available to suit every person and budget. Note that this is not a paid post! Just things I have in my bathroom at the moment that I use and love.
✨Is there a particular product you struggle to find a good alternative for? I know deodorant was one that took me years of experimentation before I found one that I’m happy with! Would love to know what else you guys have tried that you love (or that just didn’t work!!!)

I've been a slave to fear for way too long.  Today I am fearful of the following:
FEAR OF FAILURE.
FEAR OF REJECTION.
FEAR IM NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
FEAR OF WHAT OTHERS TRULY THINK.
FEAR I AM NOT DOING ENOUGH.
As I type out those fears I realized they are silly to be a slave of them because I am a child of God!
He gives me the fire.
He will never leave or forsake me.
He says I am more precious than rubies.
He is the ultimate judge and knows my heart.
He tells me my works won't give me eternal peace 
I have a choice and everyday I can choose to listen to my fears or the One who says not to be anxious. I can choose to make every situation a learning opportunity or I can freeze in my tracks.
 I get to choose to be obedient and it is ok for others not to accept your path, I get to choose to be kind anyway.
