I honestly feel like I went to bed and it was June... woke up eight hours later and it was nearly July!🙈 Anyone else feel like this?! I also feel like I let June slide right on by without making my own Heath/fitness goals.
So here it is, my least favorite thing to do, taking "before" pictures! (Yes even as a coach I don't enjoy doing this)🙄🙀 BUT it's crucial so you can see how far you've come! So now I write down my personal goals for the month of July and own it (instead of letting another month slide on by!)👊🏻💥

Meal Prep Monday Tips: After you look at your schedule for the week, figure out what nights you have time to grill or cook items & what nights you only have time to grab n go. Then write out what meals you plan on having each night of the week. Of course you can switch days if you are not in mood for what you have planned that night.
1. Get rid of anything that temps you to make poor choices out of your pantry, fridge or freezer.
2. Grab n Go snacks. Fresh fruit & vegetables portioned out.
3. Proteins cooked or cut, trimmed & marinating.
4. Push things that don't last as long to the front of the fridge.
5. Cook grains or veggies that you will serve as sides at dinner.
6. Wash all produce.
7. Keep things organized & accessible
8. Ask your family to help you prepping & your prep time can be cut in half. Kids too small to help? Get a mother's helper for an hour or get a few girlfriends together, but your food in bulk & conquer your week together.
9.MOST IMPORTANTLY!!! Have a backup meal in the freezer in case a meal doesn't make the cut. Trust me you will be grateful for this.

So this week I'm going to dive back into different types of lifts and things to watch out for and how to help manage them! The first one is of course the SQUAT.
Previously I've posted quite a bit about squat alignment and setup but this time I want to give you guys a few more treatments/exercises you can add into your toolbox.
So looking at the picture above, we can see that there are a number of different areas throughout the body that can give us insight (or clues) into what exactly is going on, what to do, and how to progress.
I'm going to be looking at each joint throughout the leg and also look as some common patterns we see in the squat being: 👉🏼Hip Shift

Yesterday when I was cleaning out the fridge and realising everything is either red or green, and that I should probably thank @muttipomodoroau (who happen to be my canned tomatoes of choice anyway) for sending me to the super-fun Italian Food Festival on the weekend which I loved. I did NOT want to workout today. It was so late in the morning, it was hot, I had no energy, I was super sleepy, I had been up working for 4 hours and I just wanted to go home and get ready for our family camping trip. BUT I did it anyway!

Ready... You NEED exercise, it is GOOD for you. It doesn't matter who you are or where you're at, our bodies NEED exercise.
The ONLY reason I worked out today was because it was the RIGHT thing for me to do. I didn't FEEL like it, but who cares!!! If something is good for you, it will serve you to do it. Period.

Sorry but long ass post! Just looking at the first picture of what I used to look like hurts my heart. I can't believe I let myself gain so much weight 294lb to be exact. For years I struggled with my weight, never really being happy with myself. My escape to all my stresses where filled with overeating, drinking, and smoking I would cope with things the harmful way. But after my mother passed away I took a hard look at myself and came to the decision to change for a better and healthier me. At first I did struggle no doubt about that. But I was lucky enough have support from my family and friends! Even though I was probably a major pain in the ass at times but I did it! Every time I felt like giving up I would think of my mom and how she would've been proud of me for loosing the extra weight. I didn't use no crazy drinks or pills to loose the weight I did all of this by doing yoga, exercising and eating a proper diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and protein. I gave it my 100% everyday, I was not gonna allow myself to fail. I'm proud of myself for sticking with it. Few months later I lost 115lb now weighing in at 179lb. I still have more to go until I reach my desired weight goal. I'm happy I gave myself the opportunity to take this journey and the support along the way. On this journey I learned to love myself more in order to know what is good for my body,mind, and soul.
