Today was our 2nd Zoom call with the program. My mind is blown already and we are just getting started.
I can totally see how this is life changing for people. Our Registered Dietitian who designed this program is just laying out the basics, but even starting to follow a few basic things have changed how I see things and how I am looking at food.
I got off the call and my mind was all over the place trying to go over the notes over and over. So much great information. And what i LOVE is that its not hard. Its not too much. It isnt gonna be difficult or expensive. Anyone that WANTS to change will be able to change.
That is why this will work. Of course, there is no magic pill. It will take work and when this program is over....the work i have put in is gonna be EVIDENT. And EEEKKKK...i can't wait to share with you.

Friday dinner appetizer tray is done!
We have heirloom tomatoes, spinach, cucumbers, olives, radishes, avocado, pickled peppers, roasted chickpeas as croutons, my delicious avocado mayo and cilantro sauce as a dressing😋😋
👩🏻🍳Recipe for roasted chickpeas is very simple:
Rinse can of chickpeas, drizzle with EVOO, sprinkle with Himalayan salt, hot paprika, garlic powder, cumin. Roast them in the oven on 375 for around 20-30 minutes, shake the tray few times while roasting.
You can make a batch and save it for later use.
This tray pretty much covers all we need for the body to function at its best.

Cooking lasagna dishes this morning! These are vegetarian and lentils lasagnas. One for my bestie whom is moving house today (poor thing it's raining 😩) & the rest is for my family. So this is a simple recipe, healthy of course with lots of great nutrients, sneaky as well for those fussy kids or adults 😉
Vegetarian & lentil lasagna:
Organic or gluten free lasagna sheets ( you can also make them yourself or buy fresh)
Tomatoes sauce pasatta:
1 tin of lentils
1 tin of diced tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
1/2 a capsicum
1 cup spinach
1-2 pasatta bottles
1 cup mushrooms
1 tablespoon Italian herbs or any herbs of your choice
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoon bone broth powder ( or a few cups of bone broth stew ... you can also add stock cube to give it that extra flavour instead Of bone broth. I choose bone broth due to its health benefits. Bone broth has immunity boosting, gut health and body strength benefits. So healing to our body especially if your experiencing gut issues, bone broth helps your gut lining to rebuild and strengthen it.
I mix all my veggies in a processor or Thermomix. Once purée start to fry it in a pot and then add the rest of the ingredients. Add 2 cups of water to keep it moist in case the pasatta mix is too heavy. Add more salt if need be. Taste it, leave on low medium heat for an hour. You can also use it in 20 minutes. I like to leave it for an hour so all ingredients can stable and give more flavours.
40 grams real butter
200 grams flours of your choice ( I use buckwheat and or quinoa flour and sometimes add a tablespoon of arrowroot flour)
500 grams milk... any milk, however I like it with cows milk.
Some salt and pepper. Then mix on low heat. If you have a thermomix it does it for u 😉Once all sauces are done, I then do the layers. I do lasagna sheet layer, passage, lasagna sheets, white sauce with shredded cheese, lasagna sheet, spinach leaf layers, pasatta sauce & so on. Bake for 45 - 1 hour on 160•c. Leave to cool & serve.

- it’s weeks of cookies, treats, gifts of chocolate, celebrations, etc. Treats are for special occasion, like Birthdays, or Christmas Day. When treats are daily or weekly they are Your Diet. .

- interesting, cuz the rate of adult chronic disease is the highest EVER. Disease begins in childhood and manifests in adulthood. Also, the rate of childhood chronic disease is the highest ever - ADHD, Anxiety, Asthma, Acne, Eczema. . .

That time between 7 and 9pm is what I like to call my “lunch time grind.” Usually the kids have just gone to bed and I jam downstairs to make three lunches, two for my kids and one for me, before I get to enjoy some me time! It’s the same drill every single night. Usually I pack myself the same thing every day...but I like to change up my snacks. Tonight instead of berries, I decided to add some chopped apple and cinnamon to my Greek yogurt. May your coffee be as strong as your hair game! I'll be honest ... lately both just haven’t been strong enough for my liking. I don’t know if it’s day-to-day #momlife or being constantly tied into a ponytail for a workout, but my hair needed major help in the hydration department.

Usually during my little boy's morning nap is the time I get my personal yoga practice in. But yesterday was extra special because I surprised my little girl with a new toy that she gets to take with us next week on our trip to DISNEYLAND! We are SO excited! ✨✨✨

TO HIDE OR NOT TO HIDE?? THAT IS THE QUESTION??? After nursing all 4 of my babies its now something I'm very open and passionate about. Though, years ago, especially with my first 2 children, I was quite timid about #breastfeedinginpublic . I worried, as many moms do, what people would THINK Or SAY.
But, the turning point for me was hearing this mom, who I loved & admired saying that an older woman scolded her for nursing (covered) in a restaurant booth. She told her to go in the bathroom!! To which she politely replied, "Would YOU ever eat your dinner in a bathroom?" Yet I HAVE gone in bathrooms to nurse more times than I'd like to remember. And honestly, depending how breastfeeding friendly (or unfriendly) my outfit is, I may HAVE to. JS
Other than that, I am very comfortable to feed & comfort my babes wherever & whenever, in the way nature intended.
I do know many woman who have been unable to nurse for many reasons so please know there's NEVER ANY JUDGMENT HERE!! ♡♡♡ Concerning Breastfeeding in public, I believe one of the main reasons OUR. society gets all weirded out is that almost EVERYTHING concerning a woman's breasts is sexualized.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS?? For me, nursing is probably the most fulfilling part of mothering my lil ones. Its like a continuum of providing Life to my lil blessings.

Blake’s basketball season ended tonight in the semi-finals.
Blake is my little introvert.
I️t was hard in the beginning signing him up for a sport when he didn’t know anyone on the team. There were tears. I️t was hard. We didn’t do I️t with the hopes he would become an all star athlete, we put him outside of his comfort zone to help him grow as a person.
Every season gets easier and easier.
What I love the most is all the new friendships we make with every sport and every season 💕.

There are countless articles from The New York Times, Fox News, BBC, The CDC & the list goes on stating that my children’s generation may be the first generation NOT to outlive their parents.
When I heard that & then researched the facts myself that was one more HUGE reason to lite my “why” my “fire” on this journey to create a healthier lifestyle for my family & I.
The reports are saying kids are not active enough, are not fueling their bodies properly & guess who they are blaming??? Us!!! Money is being spent on cell phones, iPods, iPads, Kindle’s, smartvs, internet, gaming, energy drinks, junk food, fast food/convenience food & the adults are not batting an eye but mention healthy eating or creating a healthier lifestyle & the first thing you hear is: it’s too expensive or we can’t afford it.
This statement, these statistics scare me. Why as Americans are we not making our health & well being a priority? I am very guilty of not making it a priority in my family for years. It was easier not to and just keep enjoying whatever we wanted when we wanted it, but that took a huge toll on me mentally & physically. It’s hard changing your lifestyle but swallowing this statistic or letting it become my reality would be much harder than it’s ever been to create this new lifestyle for us.
Our kids are not going to learn new habits or turn this statistic around without our help. We have to start letting our actions speak louder than our words.
I have talked to so many people these past two weeks who are craving terribly to change their lifestyle & want so badly to feel good on the inside but they want to wait until after the holidays so they can binge & enjoy whatever they want. I say why not learn how to have a healthy balance instead of making things harder for yourself come January? Why not learn you don’t have to turn to food when your stressed or over indulge because your happy or sad? Why not learn how to enjoy the holidays without feeling deprived? I️ am so passionate about what I do because it’s given me my life back & I have watched it do the same for 💯 of clients. Best gift to give yourself & family this holiday season is HEALTH. 👩🏼🍳Hummus is one of the healthiest dips around. It's made with chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice and tahini, which is sesame seed paste. It provides you with protein, and a number of essential vitamins and minerals. While it can be high in fat, it is mostly heart-healthy unsaturated fat, and when paired up with some healthy veggies, it becomes very satisfying snack!! You might not know it from this pic - but this is my curry dish. It comes together in about 20 mins & the sauce takes a few simple ingredients to make! It’s so flavourful & delicious because we don’t do bland in my house & we always make sure it packs a lot of veggies in!
So for those afraid to be bold in the kitchen, I say go for it! Bring some flare & be creative. I love finding inspiration in the little things...like a simple curry sauce that will make dinner so much better. And ps - this dinner is totally husband approved. He might even be able to make it 😉
