Just chopping up some breakfast for my little one and took a minute to appreciate (again) the beautiful seasonal fruit from this region and their amazing soft colours in the morning sun! Melons, strawberries and apricots are all currently in full season. While technically I could buy all these items from the market at home in England they just don't taste the same as they do when you are away and they are grown almost on your doorstep! 🇫🇷

Stress Away to the rescue! I put a drop in my palm and rub it on my finger. Then I put it at my temples, the back of my neck, on the bottom of my feet, and my wrists. I usually need more than one drop but anyway! You can also put some on the bone behind your ears. You can also put 5-7 drops on an unbleached coffee filter and toss it into your dryer with clothes. Inhale it deeply when you are experiencing stress or are upset. Stress Away smells delightful, IMHO.
Purification is a useful household oil. Diffuse it to eliminate odors from cigarette smoke, pets, mildew, and burnt food. Put a few drops on a cotton ball and place in your gym shoes, gym bag, locker, etc. Massage into minor cuts and scrapes to disinfect and cleanse. Add a drop to a smelly dishwasher, garbage disposal, or garbage can.
Lots of uses for these two oils. One for your emotional well-being and the other for all kinds of smelly areas.

That means that at some point, we have to rest in the peace that God is God and we are not, and His plans are far greater than the plans we make for ourselves with limited mindsets -- not seeing beyond our circumstances, our fears, our weaknesses, our doubts.

Do you struggle with pull ups?
Do you remember in elementary school when we had to do the physical fitness tests and you could either do pull ups or the straight arm hang?? .
Those were the worst!! But pull ups are not the enemy! In fact, the muscles worked in a pull up are crucial to posture and core strength. .
If you, like me, struggle with pull ups, I have two exercises to help you improve your pull-up! .
1. On a slick floor, lay prone with your arms extended above you, a little wider than shoulder width. Push your hands into the floor, engage your pelvic floor, brace your stomach, and pull your body to your hands. Push back and repeat. Think about contracting your back (around your shoulder blades), not your upper shoulders / neck.
2. At a squat rack, lower the bar to about hip height ((the higher the bar, the easier so adjust according to your needs, and once you master that height, lower it down)). With hands should width apart and knees bent, engage your pelvic floor, brace your abs, and allow your upper body to do all the work. Your legs are just there to keep you elevated ... not to assist! Using your upper back (again, not your shoulders), pull your chest to the bar and slowly lower back down to your starting position.
Complete 2 sets of 10 reps.
You can do the exercises together or just start with the first and graduate up to the second when ready.
Work on your form first.
Make sure you are engaging all the right muscles before you attempt a full pull up!

These a diets or dieting strategies which we know do more harm than good.
Ditch the calorie counting and instead listen to what your body is telling you.
With practice you will be able to nourish your mind, body and soul normally or easily.

My happy healthy gut squad. Love being their mama. Love protecting them and keeping them strong and well - as much as is in my power. Love that they have no idea what mac 'n cheese is (true story!) or other "kid" foods like fish crackers and gummy snacks. Love that they eat vegetables - lots of them. Love that they get to follow their bodies and already know that their bodies are capable and worthy of being trusted (this goes SOOO much bigger than just food). These kids are so great and such a gift. The journey takes a lot of perseverance and hard work; they're not these ways because of happenstance. Giving our children the gift of health is the best thing we can possibly do for them apart from our love. Childhood health is bigger than just being a 'crunchy organic family'...it's huge...it's setting them up for their entire lives...it's your legacy and will impact all future generations. The majority of kids should be sturdy and full of life, but the statistics show that this couldn't be further from present and projected future reality. I know all of this is overwhelming to so many of you. How do I even get started cleaning things up, you wonder? How do I get my kid to eat vegetables? How do I afford this food and where do I get it? Who's going to cook the meals? Where do I find recipes that aren't going to flop and waste my precious ingredients? How am I supposed to go against the grain of mainstream everything and keep my friends and sanity? This is why I'm setting out on #thefamilieswhocookproject . I'm going to peek into inspiring families homes *for you* and get these burning questions answered. So many great things ahead. (P.S. I don't have anything against mac 'n cheese other than it being a processed staple food for many households. It can be made somewhat healthfully.)
