Purposely wore the same outfit for photo day today... after 1 week of the 6weeks challenge... I was told my back is getting some definition and toning though I hardly see it. - all I see are dark elbows from the low planks!!! Weight’s not moving much but then again, I have lost 20# prior to the challenge, so I’d like to think this is the remaining “hard to get rid off” extra weight and the challenge is helping me finally get rid of them!!! Yay!!! Ever grateful to my female coaches! And coach Jeff who threatens everyone he’ll kick them out of the team if our weights don’t move down even a pound! Hahahahahahah!!!! Good guy though, he means well.

When I was choosing my outfit last week, I was super impressed that this shirt I bought 12 years ago, when I was a student, still fits!
It feels good knowing my lifestyle of at-home fitness, clean eating and whole nutrition has paid off. It feels good knowing my support system of coaches and challengers helped me stay accountable to not only achieve my goals, but maintain them over time. I wouldn’t trade this lifestyle for anything, because FEELING GOOD is SO WORTH IT!

What are you frightened of?
When we start to delv into our fears and understand them we find out surprisingly it sets us free. When this happens I say to myself ‘why did I hold onto this for so long’ 🤔
Just because you're on a diet, doesn't mean everyone else has to be also. Or they don't have to follow the same diet as you. Do *you* have to follow their example and eat something you know you shouldn't? No. But in the same vein, don't force anyone to follow yours. And *NEVER* shame someone for the choice they make, be it a healthy choice or an unhealthy one (yea, you can shame for trying to make a change in their lives or simply make healthier choices...happens all the time!).
Be a servant leader. Lead by example. Walk the walk, don't just talk the talk. Show anyone and everyone what you do, how you eat, how you can eat healthy with foods still tasting good AND still indulge from time to time. Show them though your example that you don't have to deprive yourself! .
But if they are not ready or have no interest, don't push. You can lead a horse to water, right? 😉
Women's Bible Study is tomorrow so I baked up some goodies to share that can (hopefully) suit the needs and taste buds of just about anyone. One classic Quiche Lorraine, one vegetarian mushroom & cheddar quiche (I have ZERO desire to become vegan or vegetarian, but I know some people are), and one crust-less spinach and cheddar cheese quiche (perfect for me and my meal plan, or those gluten free folks).
Also made some delicious looking blueberry scones from scratch that are LOADED with delicious Amish butter. Are these "diet friendly"? HELL NO!! Can you and should you enjoy one guilt free once in awhile? OF COURSE!! Everything in moderation and with control. No impulse eating. No guilting yourself & beating yourself up after. Not every day (or heck, maybe not even every week). But enjoy the treats that you love and are special 💖 .

It's beautiful days like today that cannot be taken for granted. I know that this is probably the last time I will be able to practice outside like this until spring. In about a week I will be wearing a toque and mitts to work and in less than a month we will have snow. So to celebrate the gorgeous weather, I took the pup outside and did some yoga 😊

If you're doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, maybe it's time to change your actions, not your expectations.

Healthy eating shopping tip --> SHOP AROUND! Even in the same store!!! Don't automatically write off the organic section as "being too expensive".
Seriously, everyone talks about how eating healthy is too expensive. And sure, it can be! But you have to just shop smarter 😉 And it doesn't take hours of coupon clipping, bargain hunting adds or shopping in bulk to do it (though bulk buying can help).
A lot of times you'll hear advice for saving money on groceries leading with not being brand loyal. And I agree with that (to a point). Sometimes certain brands just plain taste better and are worth the extra money: they contain better or more quality ingredients, or the company has some moral or ethical values that you want to support (or you boycott a different company for that same reason). But I also say don't completely write off fancier foods, brands or even the organic section. (Unless, again, you always only shop the organic section as a personal choice... More power to you!).
Items go on sale. Prices change. Sometimes a store will get a new product in and sell it at a promotional price (to hook you) and then slyly up the price down the road. The produce department might receive a larger than planned shipment of organic squash so they have to sell it cheaper than the regular squash or pumpkins before they go bad or to make more room on the floor. I've even the different types of meat by Foster Farms (regular, All Natural and Organic) change their price per pound randomly so that you'll get used to buying a certain type without looking at the price anymore.
Sneaky tricks that can work in your favor if you take the time to look around and compare 😘 .
