So my seven year old son came home today and said, "Momma, I know how babies are made." Oh great, I thought. I'm so not ready for this talk. Before I could open my mouth, he blurts out, "Babies are made every time people kiss. I heard it at lunch. See ya!" And off he went to play. 😳 I'm still not sure what to say to him but I do know this coconut chicken noodle soup was really good. Make it➡➡ sauté a cup each of thinly sliced bell pepper and white onion in a 2 tbs of avocado oil. When softened, add one can of coconut milk and 6 cups of chicken stock (homemade if ya got it). When it's at a simmer, add two cups of shredded chicken, a cup of snap peas, 1 heaping tbs of sriracha and about 5 oz of rice noodles. Cook until the noodles are done then squeeze in some lime juice. Add some cilantro and chili slices on top.
self care is a tricky thing. we preach it all. the. time. in the wellness community but I find the ones who are asking *you* to practice self-care have the hardest time *themselves* practicing it.
as someone (and most of us are) that’s always on the move going here + there, self care always gets bumped to the bottom of the to do list. that is, until you stop for a second + say, “wait, I’m really off track here” or “this is that familiar feeling again”. when self care is sacrificed, burn out is sure to follow.
after a couple of episodes of burn out in my life I’ve gotten really familiar with that feeling. it usually looks like chronic fatigue, short temper, inability to make time for things you once prioritized (hello, meditation 😳). it feels like a runaway train + for most, it can trigger anxiety. but what I’ve learned is that...it’s nobody’s fault but your own.🤷🏼♀️
people have different thresholds for burn out, some can go months off track without thinking anything’s wrong or for some, a week out of balance throws them over the edge. whatever yours is, honor it. speak up, ask for support—there’s no need to feel guilty. you just have to stop, regroup + move forward.
and since I’m all for working smarter not harder, self-care is the most efficient way of making sure you’re able to give 100% to your job, your relationships + your passions. —
if you feel like you just can’t get a handle on your days + feel completely overwhelmed, I can bet you haven’t taken anytime lately to focus on yourself, whatever that looks like for you.
for me, self care is a good night’s sleep, eating three healthful meals a day + meditating. over the past two weeks I’ve let all of these things go + I feel it. in my body, my attitude, my foggy mind. so today I’m committing to focusing on #1 . ME. it’s not selfish, it’s self care.

➡Alfalfa germinada: aunque no es un alimento que me apasione, nutricionalmente es excelente👌 y me gusta para dar un toque a los platos🍃
➡Salsa de soja Tamari: compro Tamari y no Soyu, simplemente porque en los ingredientes se obvia la harina de trigo🌾. La podéis agregar en la ensalada, en un salteado de verduras, incluso a un arroz con pollo 🍱🍗
➡Mahonesa vegana: nunca la había comprado pero MADRE MIA🙊, la he liado haciéndolo. ¡No sabéis como queda como topping en la ensalada!🌱
➡Infusión de açaí y arándano: ¿he oido antioxidantes🤔? Y va super bien como mata-antojo de dulce☝
➡El mejor Hummus del 🌎: homemade first excepto en esto. Lo probé en Inglaterra hará cosa de 4 años y os prometo... 😍 #inlove
➡Maiz orgánico SIEMPRE (nada de GMO)
➡Ralladura de coco muy 🔝 para poner como topping a las gachitas de avena

Yay! She’s complete! Six full on weeks of DIY, but this beauty is ready to hit the road. Today we left for our summer tour. What a great feeling. Into the wild we go for a couple of days to rest and recharge before coming back out to the coast towards the end of the week!

I've been thinking about it a bit lately. I haven't always had money. In fact about 5 years ago i was completely stressed out by my financial situation. I had a good job & a house, but i also had credit card debt, debt with the ird and a student loan that i was keen to say goodbye to after 12 years. I actually contemplated selling my house so i could attempt to pay off the debt & start again. The other thing is that while i had a good job, it was sucking the life out of me and i felt completely trapped. I needed to sort out my finances so i could find something that fed my soul rather than stealing it.
First thing i did, asked for help. I prayed. It honestly felt beyond what i could deal with! I also talked to a budgeting advice service. They helped me get some clarity around where i could cut costs. They also encouraged increasing my income somehow. Selling unnecessary things. Simplifying life.
I talked to my bank. Unfortunately they wouldn't help me so i ended up changing banks to one that would. They had a 0% credit card transfer which allowed me to get out of the massive interest payments and gave me the target of paying it off within a year. They also extended my mortgage which allowed me to pay off the ird debt. I upped my student loan payments. This was when they offered an early repayment bonus so for every additional $100 i paid, $110 was taken of the balance.
When i had paid off one debt i took the money i had been paying for that and added it to what i was paying for the next one. Any extra money that came in went straight to paying off debt. My work bonus, a tax return. Its amazing how a lump sum quickly changes the balance due.
Within a year all my debt (other than my mortgage) had been paid off, and i was making more than the minimum payments on that. I was then able to start saving and working out what i was going to do once i left my job. 🌱
It wasn't easy but i kept my eyes on the prize. It meant not updating my iPhone, stretching our hair appointments, and catching up with friends for a walk or having them over for coffee rather than going out. I'm so proud of what i was able to achieve when i set my mind to it!

Бисквит на все случаи жизни:
✔️45 гр рисовой муки
✔️15 гр овсяной муки
✔️30 мл классического питьевого йогурта ✔️ванилин на кончике ножа
✔️у меня в данном рецепте цедра 1/2 апельсина (можно без, можно с лимонной)
✔️подсластитель (у меня Фитпарад)
Отделяем белки от желтков и взбиваем их до пиков. Отдельно смешиваем все остальные ингредиенты и вводим аккуратно белки. Разливаем тесто по формочкам и в духовку на минут 30 при 180 гр.

there are so many easy ways to get your daily collagen intake. my top two methods are putting it in my coffee or eggs!! just make sure it’s an unflavoured powder form and you will never even notice. you can add it to your cooked veggies, sauces, baked goods, drinks, salad dressings... literally anything!! after my exams are over, i’ll put up a more informative post all about collagen ☺️

You may be surprised to read a testimonial that doesn't have to do with food! Actually, my health coaching covers aspects of your health and well being beyond food! Food is the basic building block of our health. But beyond that, there are all these other aspects of our lives that together contribute to our well being. Most people would think of exercise as the other building block. Sure! It's very important. That is an area I address too, but it has nothing to do with burning calories alone. And then there is the area of pain. I have been certified as a postural alignment specialist and so I made use of my knowledge to help Elizabeth deal with her pain issues. But health is not only about the physical aspects. It also concerns our spirituality, creativity, stress management, relationships, home environment, career, finance and more! These are actually "primary foods" whereas what we eat are "secondary foods." When one or more aspects of our primary foods is out of balance, it spills over to the other areas and may lead to emotional eating, which in turn leads to weight gain and other health issues.
