Brightening up your #humpday with a bowl of turmeric porridge! It’s been a gray and rainy morning here in London ☔️ So a bowl like this is just the way to warm up 🤗 I cooked up some oats with @kokodairyfree mylk * turmeric * ginger * cinnamon * black pepper * and some peanut flour 🥜 * then topped with figs * frozen pineapple * mango * @breakfastbybella peanut butter me up granola * coconut * and a spoonful of @manilife_’s deep roast peanut butter - are you sensing a theme here? 🥜😋 I actually really liked this combo of turmeric and peanut butter, there was a nice balance of savoury and sweet, and the pb added a delicious crunch and creaminess to the whole bowl 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’ve started on a completely different and new journey, without even really realising. But I’m scared shitless because it’s a new process that I am not used too. I’m used to seeing pounds drop within a few days when I’ve been ‘on plan’ even if literally for only a few days. My body gains quickly and can lose quickly if I put my mind to it. So the fact that I’m stuck at a certain weight is annoying the hell outta me and the fact that the journey I’m starting isn’t about fast results is something I’ve got to get my head around. I need to just trust the process. I’m focusing on fat loss and muscle build, so that (the plan is) when the fat starts to drop I’m left with some sort of base because I know that at the moment I’d just be a blob with no tone or anything. I need to do a lot more research into this I know, because I have lots of questions but I’m getting there. But I feel like I’m understanding the importance of strength training along side cardio, whereas I’ve always been a cardio lover and thought that was the way to the body i want. Anyway, rant over and I hope that made more sense than it does in my head! I’m in a bit of a kerfuffle with it all at the mo, but it’s slowly becoming clear! If anyone has any advice for me then please, go ahead! Especially around losing a significant amount of weight at the same time as toning. Its not as if I’ve dropped to a slim weight and am trying to tone up!
We're eating lots of lettuce at the moment (as I may have ordered three in our veggie delivery), so rather than just having salad with some meat, hubby made hamburger wraps. Homemade rissoles (packed with zucchini, carrot and broccoli) in a lettuce cup, with fresh salsa on top. Plenty of veggies, some protein and lots of flavour. Kiddies loved them too. #bunlessburger#dinnerisserved#lowcarb
This morning I saw this picture of one of my breakfast with figs from my mum's garden plus @gleniskinsta organic natural yogurt, Irish local honey from @mileevenfoods 🍯 and crunchy pistachios, and I am still drooling 😋
Figs are a great source of fiber and several minerals and vitamins such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium, copper, vitamin K, vitamin B6,...🌱 I wish I had some figs left, but I had Irish apples instead and the mix of yogurt, honey and pistachio with the apple worked pretty well too!

So I have decided to try and document my ~weight loss journey~.. mainly because i haven’t done this before and I’m determined NOT to fail, so if I do it publicly then hopefully someone will pester me if I start to deter from posting. I’ve never liked the way i look, and I mean literally never. But over time, that feeling has become comfortable and safe, hiding in baggy clothes and never showing off any part of my body for worry that someone will get offended by a big old blob.
