What an amazing adventure and lesson in trust. I almost didn't go to this kind and welcoming country. I put on my big girl pants and bravely faced Americans fear of Cuba. I got to share this experience with my closet friend and learn how wrong that fear was. I felt so safe and have never seen so much excitement when I told Cubans 🇨🇺I was American 🇺🇸. Havana is just as people describe, classic cars, cigars, mojitos, dancing and so much more. The art alone is worth the trip and the ballet is breathtaking. Hemingway and Obama are heroes there. So cool to say the least. #fearless#cuba#Havana#unplugged#unplaned#bailando#ballet#art#hemingway#playa#wanderlust#foodforthesoul#fabricadeartecubano#impala
Watching the U.P. Premiere of the documentary "Young #Hemingway and His Enduring Eden" by George Colburn. Also talking with Andy Sacksteder of Gladstone about his statue of Hemingway on display in Petoskey. #upperpeninsula#escanaba
Language and literature have long been a passion of mine and are an integral part of who I am. After studying French, Spanish, and English Literature in college, I moved to Paris to pursue an MA in Cultural Translation. Delving into study of the endless ways in which words and ideas hold meaning and how translation can occur was a dream for me. For my thesis, I focused on expanded notions of translation in relation to the foreign translation of critical construction of expatriate writers using Ernest Hemingway's translation into French as my subject. I'm excited to be presenting my work at the Ernest Hemingway conference in Paris this coming July (hosted by my alma mater @aupinstagram)! Though language and translation work has taken a backseat these last couple years due to the demands of work and building my business, I'm excited to reignite my academic interests and continue to work towards my goals in those fields! (Also, if anyone will be in Paris the last week of July and would like to collaborate on a project, please let me know!) #petiteabeilleparis

💫 thank you Ernest for your beautiful mind, but easier said than done! However, I do know whenever I listen to a podcast or at a workshop and someone is sharing their story...it is so inspiring and empowering for me. Plus, the feeling the speaker gets once their story is shared. Relief, bliss, gratitude, love. 💫 “You story will help inspire others!” .

_"You expected to be sad in the fall. Part of you died each year when leaves fell from the trees and their branches were bare against the wind and the cold, wintery light. But you knew there would always be the spring, as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on killed the spring, it was as though a young person died for no reason. "
