Studying & mixing herbs for anointing oil. 🌿
Working with plants has always been this sacred intimate practice for me. Each plant has its own story & secrets to share that are expressed through this type of energy exchange between organisms.
When I was little, I never had many childhood friends & spent a lot of time amongst the trees. I remember using an old fishing basket as my “magical bag” that held things such as antlers, rocks, flowers & all my other treasures. And I remember pretending to sit in my little secret spots that I had made, making ‘medicine’ for the pretend village that I created in my head.
As I grew older I began to feel isolated from other kids, especially females because I didn’t like a lot of the things that my peers were into. I didn’t care about my fingernails, or being able to sing all the lyrics to songs that were popular at the time.
I made a lot of art & played video games & continued to spend a lot of my time outside.
Once I hit my teenage years I spent the next 7-8 years in a depressive dissociative mental state with occasional losses of reality. Puberty hit me like a ton of bricks & now that I look back on all of it, it was like one bad lsd trip. Every day I’m grateful I’ve made it out alive.
It wasn’t until I was pushed to the breaking point that this connection with nature came back one day/night from a very intense mushroom trip & ever since my life has only improved in every way. I have plants to thank for opening doors & untangling the wires in my brain the way it needed to happen. And it is my way of giving back to nature that I dedicate a part of my life to working with them. 💚
Seems like he was cool with it. Can we just stop classifying Weed as a drug all ready. Sheesh.😥 Verses found that reference seed bearing herbs:
Psalm 104:14, where it is written "He causeth the grass for the cattle, and herb for the service of man"; Exodus 10:12: "Eat every herb of the land"; Proverbs 15:17: "Better is a dinner of herb where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith"; and Genesis 1:11-12 or 3:18: "thou shalt eat the herb of the field."
Rasta culture says : The controlled ritual smoking of "wisdomweed" is advocated as "an incense pleasing to the Lord"; it is a core activity in their daily life, both a "sacrament" and an aid to meditation.

Today I dried my own herbs and bottled them in recycled glasses jars. (Yes, I keep every glass jar I buy) First try, no burned mint or cilantro and I didn't have to spend almost $5 in the store... I'm stoked! I can't wait to try it again. #herbs#freshherbs#mint#recycler#driedherbs#diy
It’s time to play “Name that Herb!” 🌱🍃
Ok, not really. Actually, I went out today to see what I could find in an ordinary grocery store. If I don’t grow an herb myself, then I’ll buy it online in bulk. However, thinking about my followers that may not want either of those options, I wanted to see what I could find in small bulk quantities and a low price range. .
Basically, most places had boxes of tea. Not bad and an easy fix but many bagged teas come in bleached bags that leach those chemicals right back out into your tea. Um, no thank you. Also, you have no choice what combination of herbs are in each of those bags. But if you have a @freshthyme near you, holed in the back of the store is a pretty nice apothecary. Lavender buds, dandelion root, nettle leaf, beet powder, German chamomile, star anise... I’ll just say, I purchased a lot and will be testing all of them. .
They even have little bags for you right there. So, maybe you’re looking to make some homemade lavender soap and want lavender buds in it, there you go. Or maybe you want to try some liver and kidney cleansing dandelion and hibiscus tea? Boom. Perhaps you want to make a beautiful all natural lip and cheek stain? Beet powder right there. And yes, I’ll be posting that recipe soon with a giveaway as well! .
What I’m saying is, herbs are not that out of reach. If you want to just make a cup of tea to get a feel for using whole, loose herbs rather than bags, it’s a great inexpensive way to start! Each little bag was between $1-4 depending on the herb. They even had dried elderberries. Since I already posted that recipe, pick some up and try your hand at that. Or just grab some lavender and chamomile, go home, add 1tsp chamomile and 1/2 tsp lavender to a mug and pour boiling water over it. Let it steep about 5 min, strain out the herbs and sip before bed. Enjoy. .

My favorite catalog to shop this year was Ernins @floretflower . Such beautiful blooms. Both in her seeds and her intentions. Ugh. These seeds are reminding me how much potential I have to grow into my true essence. Can u believe that these little seeds are just sleeping right now....waiting for water and sun...that is all...they have everything else they need already inside of them to become what they will be. So stunningly relatable today. Enjoy counting seeds my loves. Go wild. Garden with a fresh take on Co creating with the land your a guardian of. I can't wait to see how this comes together.
