"When you see someone putting on his Big Boots, you can be pretty sure that at adventure is about to happen." -Winnie-the-Pooh
Thankful for those folks in my life who put on their "big boots" so we can head out on an adventure together!
Starting our ascent up the Col dei Bos, a relatively new route built by the Italian military in 2008. From the start of the ferrata and through the beginning section we overlooked the ruins of an old WWI-era army hospital, run by the 5th brigade of the Italian Alpini mountain troops.
Outdoor Birthday celebrations turned into an exercise in flexibility this year. Plan A got buried in the snow, and Plan B got tanked due to illness and injury. Plan C was... Just incredible. A moody windy overcast day poking around Cape Perpetua. The fun of watching @msjackml take around 300 (!) pictures. And the most breathtaking display at Devils Churn. I've been visiting this place all my life, and I've never seen anything like it. Here's to another trip around the sun, and all the joy and wonder that goes with it.
Fell hard for this remote desert sanctuary last week. ❤️ I was able to top rope outside for the first time (whaaaat!) and learn how to embrace the crack thanks to @ryanpanasy 's school for kids that can't climb good, witness epic sunsets and rises, hang with the raddest people, and watch the stars do their thang all night. Thanks for your company and extra harness support @aya_supaia 😂 and all your stories @walsh_terrence. Already stoked for next time✌️
Happy Monday! My mind is in the gutter here, but only because it’s hilaaarious down there 😜
The Bridgette Romper is officially online and available for purchase, love it for its detailed neckline and long sleeves. This photo was taken on top of the roof at Cape Decision Lighthouse, the roof was recently painted red after decades of lead paint peeling, cracking, and blowing away in the wind. Out of all the lighthouses in Alaska, this one gets all my love, and my dirty jokes 💝 📷: @jackielumba
Misty Monday moods... I don't always know what I'm doing with my life or my time, I'm not often balanced and never not in a rush, I get so down sometimes. But I'm insanely grateful for being allowed to be imperfect in this amazing place ☁️ #mood#changeswithweather#iwaspromised300daysofsunshine
I first came to India two years ago to celebrate my 30th birthday. Many women feel a sense of fear or anxiety about crossing into their 30's; but for me, it symbolized coming into the fullness of my womanhood, my whole self. I wanted to celebrate. I rented out my apartment on AirBnB until I had enough extra money to gift myself a journey to India, a country I had felt drawn to for nearly a decade.
I had a difficult few months leading up to my trip. I went to India with the intention of healing, and I had a particular expectation of what that would look like. I did heal; the process was nothing like I anticipated, yet it was everything I needed.
My experience provided me with a complete reset. I was able to let go of a lot of things I'd been holding on to, and I stepped into a new sense of confidence. Coming to India felt strangely like coming home and rediscovering a lost part of myself.
I'm back in India for the next two months. I planned my stay still holding on to the idea that it would look as I expected it to two years ago. Silly me, how foolish. That expectation was shattered before I even arrived. All my circumstances are different than I expected them to be at this time.
"India is like a guru who gives you the experiences you need to move you along your path." ~Mariellen Ward ➰ I'm interested to see what India has in store for me this time around, whatever it may look like.
I severely underestimated how my knees and hip would feel after cone bagging the Wellsville Cone😝... 10 miles and 3200ft of elevation gain, aka a casual Sunday...
#Rayfie // I was missing all the fall vibes! No, like, seriously. My heart was a little sad when I began to realize I wouldn't get to experience even a chill for my favorite leather jacket. Bc let's be real, it's a desert out here, and still hot! But I prayed for this blessing so I didn't complain (too much). I went scrolling through the gram at lovely sweater weather picks and was even able to grab a pumpkin chai latte from my faithful STARBUCKS! (Yes, they're here) It was kinda enough. I then added a few new items to my apartment to make it feel cozier. That helped a lot too. But what about that chill?!! •
Well I stood in front of the freezer. Jk. 🤣 A flight deal, airbnb check-in, and a few things to toss in the suitcase. I took to the weekend to get a new stamp in a place close and a little cold. Can you guess where?
Dedicating my instagram this week to this stud who is running his 3rd 100 miler on Saturday at the Javelina Jundred. He constantly impresses me with his drive and dedication. I can’t wait to see him kick JJ in the nurds!! #SWAPteam
It's supposed to be in the 90s today in San Diego. Here's a photo of fall in the eastern Sierras from this weekend to make it a bit more tolerable. I may just have to go back to escape the heat...90 in October, wtf??
I use to have the mentality that I needed to get out of where I am to find beauty. I always wanted to be somewhere I wasn't.
With gratitude and love I am learning to see the beauty exactly where I am. In this moment, it was a patch of moss on the amazing Wapiti River Valley, perfection ❤
Lake Como, Italy || Bellagio is supposedly the prettiest of the towns, which is why it earned its nickname as crotch of Como. Hahahhaha ok.
We took a ferry here from Varenna. The ferry guides were confusing and the ticketing guy was not friendly - only cus the next ferry was reaching and he’s also the man ushering people on the ferry. Fortunately the whole process is quite straightforward and easy - everyone’s doing the same and the grumpy ticketing guy will scream out where the ferry is headed to. Cool
Sometimes, things don't work out quite how we thought they would. Really wish I was eating breakfast next to the ocean instead of in the cheap motel I spent the night at. At the end of the day though, all you can do is laugh and roll with the punches. All a part of the adventure, right?
