I rarely take time for myself. Especially during this, my favorite season. It’s full of capturing family photos and proofing calendars and editing photos and answering emails and working late at my day job. So tonight, after my second shoot, I made my way to the top of Tuthill Park to watch the sunset. As if the leaves and quiet and sunset weren’t reward enough, an elusive south Sioux Falls black squirrel came hopping up. Just me and him and my favorite season. It’s almost like he was a reward for me taking 10 minutes to myself

I finally found my camera battery charger, so I took about a hundred pictures today. This (of milo) is the only one that turned out. Deleted ~99 blurry or cut-off photos of cats, chickens, fields, and even some of Alicia and Maria. 🙄🙄🙄🙄 #hifromsd
Had such a fun afternoon meeting @allimauzey and Nicole Parker who are performing with SDSO in Wicked Divas this weekend! I kept my questions professional, even though I really wanted their tips on how to get off your TV and onto a #Broadway stage! I miss singing so much. Details tonight after football on #KSFY .
The sun shows us the beauty of the Spearfish falls! Visiting the @visitspearfish Canyon is always a great adventure. Have you visit the Spearfish Canyon in @southdakota ? .

"Because she's half naked" 😄 Thank you Grandma for your honesty + letting me wear your jacket. Loved spending some quality time together before the big move. I'll remember it always. 🎨 @canvas2paint #wicked
Here's Tim again. He's probably telling a cool story about Vermillion's shady steamboat port city past or possibly about the years after the 1881 flood when a river bend swung into Nebraska. Because the border didn't change with the sudden shift in river topography, it created a lawless area which Nebraska officials couldn't get to, but South Dakota officials couldn't enforce. The township had a local prohibition in effect at the time to protect the students at the college (ironic I know), so moonshiners and bootleggers populated the area until the two state legislatures agreed to change the border. #hifromsd#southdakota#nebraska#frosttrail#hiking#hikingadventures#localhistory#photography#photographyeveryday#dailyphoto#missouririver#rivers#sony#sonya7rii#sonyalpha @southdakota @se_southdakota_tourism @vermillionsd @usouthdakota @greeningvermillion
There was a lot to learn about @windcavenps when we first arrived. Despite the park’s name, there are activities both below and above ground for visitors. We actually chose to do a short hike before our scheduled #cave tour began.
Wind Cave is the sixth longest cave in the world, but the second longest in the county – its next door neighbor @jewelcavenps took the title by a smidgen. I’m glad I brought my widest lens in since the dimly lit pathways were better for dramatic shadows than well executed photographs. 🔦 #FindYourPark
