So that my profile picture for few time for now. And this shot is the greatest example of my second reason- the details, oh lord. The fashion, makeup, attention to the littlest things that seems to make no difference but actually can make the entire shot. In this pic it's the hat, the smoke, the skeleton's hand, the juxtaposition of the blue against the black against the green. It makes each shot perfect in it's own uniqueness. It empowers the message.
If you are asking me why is it my favorite, I'll name you few reasons why: First of all, the roaming statement that every picture holds. It talks about an important issue that the fashion industry had and still has, the dominance of "males" against the models (not only females by the way). While I have always been a critic of the feminist movement for awhile, I still believe feminism is a great tool to battle against gender issues. This photoshoot is an example of feminism done right. It is smart and while it was 20 years ago still very relevant especially to the time we are facing now. The fashion industry needs to critic itself in this matter and it does its job the best way possible. Richard and Nadja were the best team for that
I introduce you for the second time - the greatest photoshoot of all time, have been my favorite since the first time I saw it and stayed my favorite 5 years afterwards. "In Memory of the Late Mr. and Mrs. Comfort" - Nadja Auerman by Richard Avedon for The New Yorker 1995.
Hey guys! Happy hump day! I love this capture @timothyeyrich got of me because it’s totally ME. I’ve always been a little too self conscious and stuck in my head about what people thought about me...always feeling like I wanted people to like me...wondering what people thought about me...until one day I started giving no fucks. Because I realized that I’m always going to be too much for some people. Too loud, too outgoing, too nice, too vibrant, too ME. My goals in life are to laugh loud, Love hard, hug often, open my heart to strangers, sing off key but with confidence, dance everywhere I go, be grateful for the air I breathe, be brave enough to try new things, and be unapologetically ME. All day. Every day. Because here’s the thing, some people are gonna love me and others aren’t. And that’s okay. But I realized, as long as I keep being me and I don’t change to please people...I’ll attract other authentic, awesome Fucking people into my life. And I have to say, I am surrounded by a tribe of amazing, talented, supporting and encouraging people! And I feel so blessed!!! #happywednesday
