We did it! 16 miles and many hours later, we hiked Mt. Wrightson. On a side note, compression socks and pop-tarts are life, and pollen is most definitely a bad hiking companion. 🌿🍁🍃 #hikeaz#womenwhoexplore
The difference between these two pictures was a series of decisions:
1. I decided I was sick of feeling like crap and it was time to make a change.
2. I decided to stop eating fast food and start making my own meals.
3. I decided to show up every day even if I didn't feel like it.
4. I decided to be PROUD of myself in the face of self-doubt.
I'm starting another round of my fitness program on October 9th if you decide you want to do it with me. If you're in, you can 1️⃣ drop your fav emoji in the comments or 2️⃣ fill out the link in my bio so I can reach out to you. Best thing I ever did for myself. 👊🏼
I spent this last weekend hiking 26 miles on 3 different trails through the Grand Canyon. It was so much better than I could have dreamed and much more challenging than anticipated. It was mentally and physically exhausting (and I've hiked some tough trails). But every step worth it. Remembering one foot in front of the other is so simplistic and it kept me going this weekend. Being mindful with my body and losing my head in nature. There were countless moments of complete stillness. Those are the moments that I live for. A complete mental reset. Damn near perfect weekend. #forceofnature
It's incredible that swimming holes like this exist in AZ...but they do, you just have to find them..or know someone on the forest service for 15 years 🤗. I have an entire list of these little places....#hikeaz#moretoexplore
As @roncampton22 and I were hiking this morning we rounded a corner and we were surprised by this mama and her baby walking on the trail. Caught off guard by our sudden presence and shocked by how close we were (I could have jumped out and touched it!) we all stopped in our tracks and stared intently into each other's eyes. We slowly side stepped to let them pass showing them we meant no harm, and then mama and baby casually walked off the trail and continued on their way.... That is until a loud group of people came by and frightened them off.
The view at the end of this hike was great, but the various amount of wildlife throughout the trail definitely made the hike so much more worthwhile.
