Working towards lofty and soul inspiring goals often consumes a lot of my down time, plus work can take up weekends when everyone else is playing. Today I declared it to be a morning of mountains.
Heart rate up, heard the voice of fear, did it anyway.
Dry, tight skin?
Try a simple mixture of water and vegetable glycerin for hydrated and supple skin.
Mix 1 part vegetable glycerin with four parts water in container of choice and shake to emulsify.
Increase glycerin ratio as needed up to 1:1 ratio.
Glycerin is a natural humectant, drawing moisture from the air.
Do not use in very dry and arid temperatures.

You just opened your eyes: it’s 6 am. You’re fully rested and energized. You woke up on your own.
If that's how you wake up, share in the comments what you do to achieve this! If not, check out my fave tips.
1. Move. The more energy you spend during the day, the better you sleep at night. Don’t SAVE energy, SPEND it generously! Take the stairs, walk, work out, clean, organize, dance!
2. Get in the sun asap upon waking, have breakfast in the sun to signal your body it’s daytime, supply vit D to cells & regulate hormones. As a bonus, you'll be energetic & crave less sugar throughout the day.
3. Cut down on sugar, incl. honey & dried fruit. Sugar & refined carbs create spikes in your blood sugar, mess up your normal hormone function and create the viscous circle: poor sleep — sugar cravings.
4. Avoid snacking. Teach your body to go for longer periods without food, so you can have a deep sleep for 8 hrs straight.
5. Rebalance Root chakra (your lower energy center). Use my tips on my blog (link in bio). 6. Choose herbal teas over coffee, black or green tea. Avoid caffeine in general, especially after lunch. Remember, chocolate has caffeine too!
7. Try your best to be asleep before 10pm, because
Every 1 hour of sleep before midnight = 2 hours of sleep after midnight.
8. A shower or a bath are great ways to clear your energy, wash away troubles and relax! Make sure the water is not too hot or it will be invigorating.
9. Environment. Ideally, your bedroom should be clean, fresh, quiet and dark at night. Try to arrange it according to feng shui for a healthy energy flow. Close all doors, including closets and open a window for fresh air.
10. Stretch before bed. It releases muscle tension and helps you relax deeper.

Yesterday, my yoga practice didn't go quite as planned. After knocking out full wheel like a champ in previous sessions, I just couldn't push myself up. And I immediately got pissed of. But then I started thinking that it's called practice for a reason. Not everyday will go as planned. And that's where patience comes in. I have a couple of new products in the works that I'm super proud to welcome into The Flower Apothecary family of products. Sublime Rose, was inspired by my littlest daughter Aliya. It came about so naturally & was so well received that I didn't want to rush the 2 products that I would create in honor of my 2 oldest children. I quieted my mind, remained patient and the idea for these 2 new products flowed just as naturally. I received a spiritual download as if I'd tapped into the universal reservoir of all that is. I won't reveal any info about the products but I will say one thing about one of them, there was a reason the ocean had been calling for me 🌊 #loveisintheearth ..

I just used Melaleuca on my little girl's arm after she had a close encounter with her kitty's claws 🐱. .

If you haven't used oils yet, which oil do you always hear about that you wish you had?
I keep disappearing on you all! But I'm currently in Egypt 🇪🇬 with my family and fasting for Ramadan. It surprisingly isn't that hard considering I've dabbled in #intermittentfasting more than a few times and find it comes a little naturally to me. I broke my fast on some dates, chicken breast, and soup and now having a yogurt bowl with fruit/nuts 🍇🍎🍯and the tiniest drizzle of honey plus a ☕️to fuel a workout and staying up for the meal before a day of fast (suhoor). It's enjoyable but it does make working out extremely hard. My sis and I tried fitting in a home #HIIT session before breaking our fast and we only got in 7 minutes before calling it quits 😐😐 I think I'll just eat generally healthy and my favorite Egyptian foods while here considering some of the diet specific stuff isn't very accessible and I'm not here for very long anyhow.

One of the scariest parts about experiencing a panic attack is not knowing what to do about!
Here are two simple strategies to help you during this time: * Deep-Breathing Exercises: Taking deep breaths will help to eliminate the out of body feeling and decreasing your rapid heartbeat that accompanies some panic attacks. There are a number of deep-breathing exercises that may come in handy, so here’s a quick recommendation: Alternate between inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth slowly, for counts of 6. * Anticipation: Anticipate the various waves of a panic attack and allow them to pass. The waves being referred to are the waves of symptoms, such as shortness of breath and dizziness. Trying to stop the panic attack and being unsuccessful makes the experience even more unpleasant. Ride it out.
