The perfect bitter Mai Tai on #tikituesday ? Don't mind if I do!
Last week, I was fortunate enough to host the multitalented @andrewbohrer (who designed this year's Negroni Week poster) and many of my wife's work friends so that I could show them the ol' tiki homebar. I had heard through the grapevine that Andrew had competed in the World Mai Tai championship (WTF?!) but little did I know that his drink was published in @btparsons Amaro book! It is a real treat for all of us #amaro lovers and I cannot recommend it enough🍹😱👏🏽🍊🌱
1 oz Amaro Nonino
0.5 oz Amaro Montenegro
0.5 oz lime juice
0.25 oz Tuaca
0.25 oz Amaretto
0.25 oz Smoked Ramazzotti
Shake all but the Ramazzotti, strain; crushed ice glass with orange and chocolate mint (subbed for basil) garnish, top with the smoked Ramazzotti - it may sound like overkill but kick yourself for thinking so. This really makes this drink spectacular 😎

I've been enjoying my bottle of @portlandpotatovodka from @eastsidedistilling. I've always been kinda bored by vodka, but this stuff has something special about it. Made from potatoes instead of grain, it has a real silky mouthfeel and no burn. I'll be using it a lot this summer!
She's a Lightweight
1.5oz Pomegranate juice (@pomwonderful)
.75oz fresh lime juice
1/4oz simple syrup
3 dash grapefruit bitters (@thebitterhousewife)
Gently crush the rosemary in the shaker. Add other ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into rocks glass over fresh ice and garnish with rosemary and a lime wheel ✌🏼

Adelaide Swizzle (via @cafeadelaide in NOLA)
✅ 2oz @rhumdamoiseau Blanc
✅ .75oz Velvet Falernum
✅ .5oz Fresh Lime
✅ 2 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters (Garnish)
✅ 2oz Soda Water
Build in glass over crushed ice (sans bitters). Swizzle then top with more crushed ice and garnish with a float of the bitters.
Originally created & served only at the Swizzle Stick Bar in the Cafe Adelaide, this is a must-try while you are in NOLA!
I made it with a full-bodied and high-proof French rhum agricole and again with Plantation 3 year (a full-bodied white from Barbados). While both are fantastic; I prefer the funkier rhum agricole blanc in this recipe.
The original is served with a dark rum & the bitters are swizzled into the cocktail not floated a-top. Either way; she's a knockout! 😍

Today marks 21 years since my family and I moved to the US from Ukraine. It's a day for celebrating my roots and reflecting upon how the culture of my birthplace has melded with that of my new environment to make me who I am today. Tonight's Drink is an Absalom's Retreat. 1oz Tullamore DEW Irish Whiskey, 1oz Yellow Chartreuse, 1/4oz Honey Syrup (one part honey, one part water) and 2 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters.
Really well balanced. I can't stop.drinking these!
So this past weekend I was at my cottage with friends and a particular cocktail enthusiast brought his bottle of @domainedecanton. It's a beautiful French ginger liqueur from France and if you love ginger, then think of this as ginger punching you right in the mouth! Anyway, he forgot to take it home with him... so may I present to you a new cocktail that I would like to call:
* 1 ½ oz Domaine de Canton
* 1 oz rum
* 1 ½ oz fresh pineapple juice
* ½ oz fresh lime juice
Mix all ingredients over ice and shake. Serve in your favourite chilled glass. Add ice and garnish with a lime wheel. #manmadecocktail#pineappleday

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds, strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with lime wheel.
#NationalOrangeBlossomDay in 🇺🇸 and I made Orange Blossom Cocktail. It's classic cocktail which become popular during Prohibition as orange juice and syrup are perfect combination for masking the taste of low-quality liquor. I used equal parts of freshly squeezed orange juice and Bombay Sapphire gin and 1 bar spoon of simple syrup. Really smooth and good balanced cocktail!
