Amaro Montenegro is a very versatile Amaro that can be deployed in a wide variety of cocktails with great success. Here are two cocktails by @itsmerobk where Amaro Montenegro shines!
The first one is the fluffy I Dream of Monte. A deliciously dreamy, foamy drink with sweet condensed milk, orange juice, vanilla and of course Monte. It’s a simple, low ABV cocktail that is very delicious. Check out the foam on this baby 👌🏻 I might want to rest my head on it….

Well I’m happy to report after much hard work and some expert craftsmanship from Mount Vernon Woodworks the 614 bar is now open at the residence. (Minus the backsplash I have to finish yet). 🍾🍸🥃. Cheers to converting an old closet into more storage and entertaining space 🥂. #homebar
Day 10 Blind Whiskey Advent Calendar! Another win! Record moves to 8-2! This one i almost guessed off the nose. Distinct rich oaky nose with alcohol on the nose. My favorite bottle in bond so far. Henry Mckenna. Warm palate with the alcohol and burn on the front for me followed by bold flavors of typical bourbon notes while finishing smooth! Im sure my luck will run out here soon! Hope everyone had a great weekend! 🥃🥃 skål!
Bear's Den is our aromatic bitters that seem simple but are very complex. With over 20 herbs, roots and botanicals they have a deep rich quality that really stands out in a cocktail. Add a bit of blackstrap molasses at the end to really bring all these flavors together.
Bear Hug original recipe:
Rye Whiskey, dry vermouth, maraschino, absinthe, orange and aromatic bitters. Lemon peel garnish.

Those of you who have ventured over to the blog probably know that my full-time gig is as an actuary. I love having a combination of quantitative and creative problem-solving in my life, so being an actuary by day and a mixologist and cocktail content creator on nights and weekends has been truly fulfilling. This week, I reached a huge milestone in my actuarial career - getting my FSA ("Fellow of the Society of Actuaries"). It only took 10 years, 10 distinct exams, 11 modules and probably a total 3,000 hours of studying 😂
Thanks to @beatrixchicago for crafting me this delicious cocktail with turmeric infused bourbon, honey, and lemon as well as an amazing dinner to kick off what will probably be several months of celebrations 🎉🥂
Honestly, my Christmas list should be all the new I tell myself tools I “have to have” to make gifts for my family members. Current project required a new bit for my #dewalt impact driver and a new #woodburning pen for some #pyrography and weeping willow designs. Any guesses what this will be???
