Taking in the last vestiges of summer as it creeps back in ☀️Last Skrap Metal can in the house. Soak in the outside before we turn the page. Chicago weather always with the tricks #hopbutcher#craftbeer
The beer lordz 👑 and ladyz 👑 have been throwing these on our radar a lot more these days. That or we're just paying closer attention after our ode 🎼 to these up-at-the-crack-of-dawn skrappers. There's one in particular we've seen lately while walking the pooch in the morning under a fluorescent dark blue matte blanketed dusk sky. 🌌🐶🌄 Lugging out people's discarded artifacts of lives and stations past. Employing a sideways hip motion to thrust their metal wares up and over onto the bed of a truck. Their reliable (maybe not) and depended upon transporter upon which the day runs. Metal on metal 🤘🤘 You think of everyone who wakes up and busts their ass to makes a living. Doing what they gotta do. And maybe a quick sneak away to the water cooler to connect with the players next to them only to get right back at it. Mega workforce. Big ups to those on the grind etching their way through 🔨⚒🛠⛏It's Friday 💎💎💎
It's standard hoperating procedure round these here parts to scale 12 foot ladders to the top of a fermenter 🏗 after fermentation is complete and funnel🌪in all types of poundage of American, German, Australian, and New Zealand hops. We usually give it two days for the hops to sink their fangs into the already Hop saturated liquid housed within and then we rip the wildfire green sludge off the bottom of the cone just to go right back in that morning and repeat the cycle. Hops in at the top, fangs sinking in, and rip off the bottom. Since January, let's say, we've been moving up the start of this process and hopping during actual fermentation. (In non-geek speak) While the yeast is still chugging 🚂💨 and all types of atomic chemical reactions are still taking place, the thought is to introduce hops into the mix and transform all that's in motion in order to create a flavor, aroma, and appearance greater than the sum of their parts ⚗️The earlier the crazier but brewer beware ☔️Skrap Metal got it on Day 2. Even an everyday pale zipper like Two Flat it got it at about the same time. Go home after your own laboratory work and imagine these diabolical schemes taking place in your beer before it hit the can. Bake in the flavor. 🍞🍞🍞
@hopbutcher's Skrap Metal! What a total juice 💣💣 this was. Tropical fruit is heavy on the nose, with orange and lime lingering. Peach, passion fruit and melon are all present on the palate. What a delicious brew, and a wonderful example of a #neipa .
Probably since December 2016, maybe January '17? We've released two beers at a time with a certain intention for them both. One beer is designed to hit that #newflavorexperience we seek. Usually testing the highs and lows of the mountain ranges and cliffs we climb in our minds. Big hops🏔low bitterness🏔 🏔expressive yeast 🏔experiments with process. The other beer gets a First Men 🦌 loaded arrow 🎯 aimed at just a stupid, simple everyday beer mindless don't have to think about it type pale ale that you could always just have in your fridge and throw down at like 3pm on a Saturday and have multiple crush sessions. And maybe one day it hits as a staple in the lineup and it's always available. In this latest release, Skrap hits that former description while Two Flat goes for the latter. However you drink it though is the right way. Just giving some info on the mindset at the outset. Big ups to @pour_appetite for the 📸 that pulls from all colors of the spectrum. Peace✌🏼on this Saturday
Skrap Metal by Hop Butcher. Citrus forward. Orange, lemon, Grapefruit, white peach and unripe mango. Cracker malt profile. Creamy feel. Dry finish. Lower carb. This is good. #hopbutcher#hopbutcherfortheworld
