Well today was something new, after watching a French man on you tube last night give broken English instructions on how to use self levelling cement I made the daily trip to B&Q. Gave it ago so we shall see tomorrow when it's hopefully set, anyhow here's the stages of today's experiment. To explain there's a large slab of concrete in the kitchen not serving much purpose and looking pretty ugly, so decided to tile over it to make a platform for the freestanding cooker (cooker and tiles to be revealed!) set up the area , made some batons which we duck taped in place, pva and primed the floor, bought a mixer and popped it on the end of the drill mixed the cement which wasn't dissimilar to mixing whipping cream, poured on and troweled smooth.... I think 😬hey ho #selfleveling#cement#diy#victorianhouse#edwardianhouse#diy#tiling#houserenovation#houserestoration
This tap 😍😍 I’m still waiting to hear how the mortgage valuation went on Tuesday and if they are happy to lend. If we get the YES we are pushing for a before Christmas move. I’m yet to pack a box and when I do get spare time I’m on Pinterest 😂 #houserenovation#houseinspo
So today is all about the new floor and skirting, well at least prepping for it. We were undecided if we should replace the skirting or strip it back, glad we decided to replace at it turns out it’s not the original anyway as we found this delightful flock wallpaper behind what we took off in the hallway, nothing like statement wallpaper for a hallway. Also had all the new floor delivered this morning, took us ages to decide which colour and type to go with, just hope we love it as much once it is all fitted as we do at the moment.

UPDATE .......still living on a building site 😩 ...... so this week feels like it’s been tough - work related mostly but then not having a haven to return to has seriously added to it. Buildings been a bit slower this week too but still good to see more progress going up and the scaffolders came yesterday for another lift ..... getting high now - not sure I’m brave enough to climb the scaffold yet lol. Looking forward to family visiting this weekend to show them the progress. #bungalowtohouse#buildingthedream#stressfulweek#itwillbeworthit#houserenovation#foreverhome#familyhome
Hey Saturday...more sanding, undercoating and rec yard trawling for me today before the move to the cottage next week. In more exciting news, I have chosen this @farrowandball ‘Aranammi’ wallpaper (I know WALLPAPER, I used to hate the stuff too but @jerseyicecreamco have got me hooked!) It’s for the master bedroom and with any luck it will be going up today. Happy weekend all✌🏽 #livingthedream#weekending#houserenovation#strip#sand#paint#repeat
