Thirty years ago today, in 1988, a massive fire ripped through Hingham Square. Our store, then located on South Street, was one of the several businesses that burned to the ground. We rebuilt on Whiting Street, and here we are now celebrating 70 years in business!
Thank you for continually supporting our family business! ❤️ #grateful @hinghamhistorical
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
Psalms 121 KJV
For those still studying for exams & doing assignments, Psalm 121 is beautiful. (Check out the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir’s rendition of the psalm on YouTube for double blessings)

This is Hull’s Solar Gate sculpture aka The Cheese Grater 🧀. I’m still a bit undecided about it but it’s certainly a talking point. I know there are quite a few people following me who have lived in Hull before so I hope you enjoy this. The pic was taken from Queens Gardens with Queen Victoria Square in the background. And if you look carefully there’s a small sulking child 🙈🙄.
A whole middle section of the building is now gone. They’ve left the end section that has the metal fire escape on it. As I took this photo, a white-haired man behind me shouted: “lift me up and I’ll take the photo!” he joked. “It’ll be gone soon.” In an uncommon gesture of social niceties, I turned back and talked to the man. We walked for a while, chatting about what a shame it is that the building is being knocked down. It was nice. #hull
