Ollie is still looking for his forever family! This adorable boy was rescued from a hilltop home after the hurricane in Puerto Rico. He was abandoned in a small crate with no drinking water for days, along with his two canine friends who are also now at Animal Haven. They were all suffering from a terrible skin infection. But the great news is that Ollie and company are on the mend and ready to find their families. He's great with other dogs and would probably be fine with cats and children as well. He is a true love who wags his tail every time he sees a smile. Ollie will brighten your day! Please help him. LIKE, LOVE, SHARE or ADOPT. #animalhaven#adopt#pittiemix#hurricanemaria
For more information on adopting Ollie go to animalhavenshelter.org or come to the shelter directly at 200 Centre Street in NYC.
Thank you @sophiegamand for his beautiful photo!
Donations are being collected in the computer room of the Rancho Bernardo campus through 12/22 for students in Puerto Rico affected by the devastating hurricane in Sept of this year. A professor from the University of Utuado in Puerto Rico reached out with a list of limited items. Please look over the list and if there is anything you can donate please do, even a small item from the list helps. Thank you in advance for your generosity. #nusna#hurricanemaria

This image is part of the feature story by Monte Reel - How to Rebuild Puerto Rico - in this week’s edition of @bloombergbusinessweek . I will be sharing a bunch more work from this project in the coming days and you can read the piece via link in bio. This project, my main focus for the past few months, has been such a powerful experience I really don’t know how to convey it all. I hope that as I share more images from the series they may help give voice to Puerto Rico’s story after Maria. Huge thank you @clintoncargill and @janeyeomans for this opportunity. More to come.
Proud & hopeful! help us help the people of Puerto Rico. Gofundmepr.com

I’ve had the chance to see many sights looking out of there airplane window, but seeing all the blue “roofs” when landing in #SanJuan was surreal. A bird’s eye view of how a hurricane that landed nearly eighty days ago still affects the people here.

THIS IS MY MOTHER! 😭😍🙌🏼💕 She organized a cookout for the community with her students. OK?! Ahhh! Please, let me be like her! ❤️ Since hurricane María hit Puerto Rico back in September, there is lots of people without resources. My family still has no power and this is the same situation for a lot of families around the Island. Depression and suicide rates have increased, and people have died daily at the hospitals due to a lack of resources. I am so proud of my mom for going out there and sharing her delicious food with everyone. She is my hero!!! If you want to help out in any way, I invite you to do what you can. Pray, be the hands, call friends and family affected by the storm, and give generously. Go to the link in my profile to see ways you can partner with the local church to empower those communities in need. The money that is donated is fully used to buy groceries for families in need and/or help repair houses. This is the season of giving! 💕 #christmasishere#mymom#myhero#givinggenerously#hurricanemaria#puertorico#puertoricoselevanta
I had a wonderful time at Julia De Burgos Cultural Center today. Spent some special time with some very special people... families that have evacuated Puerto Rico and relocated to New York due to hurricane Maria.
They received free haircuts/hairstyles, manicures, toys, and winter coats. There were games, food and Santa was on his way (stuck in NYC holiday traffic). The smiles were on the faces of grandparents, mothers, fathers, and children were priceless. To live through and know first hand what devastation is back home, they received an afternoon of very deserving special treatment.
Thank you @motherleeearth7, @yamflower and your team for putting this together. I was truly blessed today being with them.
The lone, sturdy column. Standing strong. Rainy first day back home. Happy to see all the green coming back again, but still in shock with all the damage 87 days after Maria. I cannot imagine how this must have been right after the hurricane. Still, positive vibes and resilience all the way
The Ortiz family wakes early every morning to make coffee and breakfast in the dark. They haven’t had electricity or running water since Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico more than three months ago. Some of the challenges facing power restoration crews in Puerto Rico include landslides, small roads, and remote work areas that are difficult to access. In this video, we explain a little more about the obstacles these teams face and the importance of powering these remote parts to re-energize all of Puerto Rico. #PuertoRico#HurricaneMaria

A jittery group of middle-schoolers is about to start the first day of classes since September, when Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico and totally disrupted the island's school system.
A small number of schools in Puerto Rico are still not holding classes. Until last week, that included the students of Liberata Iraldo. The middle school building they usually attend is being used as a shelter for people who lost their homes in the storm.
Because of that, students, dressed in their pale yellow and blue school uniforms, are about to start class at a nearby high school — Pedro Falu Orellano — in Rio Grande, east of San Juan. The relocation has upset some parents, but the plan is moving ahead because it's not clear where the people living in the shelter will go next. Follow the link in our bio for the full story.
