She has been an AVID class taker from Day 1, but has never seen the GAINS(!)—so we got together and are focusing on her missing links—strength training and nutrition!
This was only her third session and in just a matter of 50 minutes—we alleviated a lot of her knee valgus and foot collapse and, for someone who wants to build muscle—she (back) squatted on the platform for the very first time!!! And look at that form!!! HER GOAL: muscle gain for shape/tone
-correct knee valgus (knees falling inward) -activate glutes (only her quads were firing)! -total core activation (not just abs and back 🙄) With the help of @stickmobility, @hyperice, and some hands on work, we got her body responding pretty damn well in such a short time!
As for her muscle gains, I can’t thank her enough for trusting the process. She’s got her @Fitbit, food scale, and @dotfit multivitamin, aminos, and #FirstString protein, and together we’ve got our @dotfit nutrition program synced so we can stay connected everyday.

Day 217 Post-Op: Throwback to last night when I tried out my new knee icing device from @hyperice The inside is filled with reuseable gel but you can also use regular ice. I try to regularly Ice even if I don't feel swollen yet in preparation for return to sports. It’s always nice to meet and talk to someone that you admire and look up to. Especially someone who has a bigger passion and drives than yourself in a career that you have a deep love for. Flash back in 2013-14, @pjfperformance ( who trains @jharden13 ) was the first scientific-proven sports-specific and performance program I’d been on. And it was the first training I’ve been on that didn’t cause any pain, injury, however strengthen my weaknesses and deficiencies from a biomechanics, movement and performance standpoint. I had been on so many programs that just do this and do that, then you will have results with no details how and why it works. And it was the first time ever in my life that I was taught to look beyond my training and to put nutrition, nutrients and water, carbohydrates, protein, fish oil, vitamin and minerals, and healthy fat as top priority because they were part of the gains, also part of what your body looks and feels like. If you want to be an athlete, train and *eat like one! I was fascinated by the explanation how they work and why they are imperative — to us, food vs. human body. As someone who never thought these could have been the troublemakers and missing links to my many years of training or just my everyday energy output, ability to focus, manage stress, daily performance at work, in sports, or just everyday life. This definitely has changed not only how I refuel my body and how I feel everyday from moments I wake up to, throughout the day and in the bed — from productivity to sleep quality, food is such a critical piece! Anyways continuously, these guys @pjfperformance @djsackmann @trainimpossible @ganon_baker_ —— who holds true belief in what they do from day one, and their passions and drives integrated in what they do and their crafts were the sign of belief that I first ever visualize anything is possible. While no one thought basketball trainer was a career, they created it. The ability to innovate and create for your tribe / clients’ need is always the game changer and will continue to inspire and grow.

Activate your core and feel the burn on #FitTipFriday ! The overhead resistance pull down is a great low-impact move that can be done anywhere. Take a resistance band and place it around a sturdy anchor point. Keep tension across the band and lay down on your back. Keeps arms shoulder width apart, pull the band down toward your thighs and keep your back on the floor. I use a @hyperice Hypersphere (the vibration tech is just 🤤so good), but you can use a regular lacrosse or tennis ball if you don’t have one!
Make sure you go slow and roll out for at least 30 secs per segment. I went a little faster to fit it under a minute
I also suggest doing this against the wall. I only used the cage because it allowed for you to better see them 📐angles
