almost friyayyyyy!🙌🏼🎉 I’m having one heck of a week...one of those weeks where you feel like a complete mess😂 not even lying when I say I’ve spilled or knocked something over at work at least once per day if not more😳 but luckily I didn’t cause too much damage (minus my keyboard that drowned in my hot tea😐).. needless to say I’m so ready for the weekend💯🙏🏼 .

I know white rice is totally “out of fashion,” but i love it...it’s been my favorite food since childhood and I feel no shame about enjoying it! Do you LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE? 🌞

For a long time, I dulled my own sparkle. Once part of me would avoid sharing grades or accomplishments with others to avoid making people less than. Another part of me would avoid sharing my greatest triumphs and feats out of fear of not being able to fully live up to them or reproduce them. I made myself look small to others, and as a result I felt small, I thought small, I played small, I became small. 🙍🏼 Over time I’ve reignited that flame. I’ve opened my heart to shine my light. I’ve taken steps to spread my light. Shining your light does not mean spending your days talking about your greatness or shouting your accomplishments at the top of a mountain (although I encourage you all to toot your own horn every once in a while!). Shining your light means standing strong, standing proud, and letting your actions speak for themselves. 🙏🏼 And shining your light does not and cannot take away from others’ light. Shining your light instead helps you to ignite others.

Your light should be honored, your light should be cherished, your light should be CELEBRATED. 🤗 ✨ Tell me, how will YOU celebrate your light? ✨

I always believed success = zero space on the calendar, a big bank account, a perfect credit score, lots and lots of fucking stuff, clothes with the right labels, and my face in a device 24/7 making big decisions and plans and deals.

👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻 That's bullshit. I hit several of those markers and was miserable. All of the designer athleisure wear and "I-have-no-time-because-ugh-I-am-just-so-busy" was not all I thought it would be. I was lonely, depleted, sick, and suffered some serious burnout.

Today, success = realizing how little stuff I really need, worrying less about my weight and the wrinkles on my forehead. It means standing up with one of my bff's as her maid of honor, being asked to be the godmother of another bff's little girl, it means having women in my life that I can call my bff. Success sounds like me laughing at my mistakes and looks like me well-rested and smiling. The old me got restless with quiet, boring downtime. The me today? Fucking loves being bored.

GREEN BREAD EGG AVOCADO SAMMIE 💚 This 4-Ingredient Green Bread is paleo, keto-friendly and grain-free. When I saw the recipe from @lilsipper, I knew I had to give it a try 🙋🏼 I don’t follow a specific diet; I do believe in real food. And that food should be FUN! I mean green bread not dyed with artificial food coloring – are you serious?! 🤗 The bread is made of: 1 cup organic @sunbutter + 3 eggs + 1 Tb @firecidershirecity ACV + 1 tsp baking soda. That’s it! Why green? The chlorogenic acid in sunflower seeds reacts with the baking soda. So cool! The bread became a deeper green color when stored in the fridge overnight. Topped my sammie with roasted beets, a fried egg, mashed avo 🥑 and microgreens. A feast for my eyes and my belly alike! 👀 Thanks to @lilsipper for the recipe! ❤️

VEGGIES IN SMOOTHIES 🥒🌳 - I have smoothies for breakfast at least three mornings a week, I like them because I like to start my day with veggies and protein rather than carbs and sugar because I feel full longer and avoid crashing a few hours later. I'm allergic to bananas so I have to get a little creative to get a good consistency. I find protein powder usually makes my smoothies smooth but I've also experimented with zucchini, cauliflower, avocado and oats to add some extra nutrition to my smoothies and for days when I don't feel like tasting protein powder. HOWEVER - I usually just add zucchini and cauliflower raw/frozen, today I'm steaming then freezing to see if that changes the consistency or if I notice a difference in how it makes me feel. Would love to hear if you make smoothies with zucchini or cauliflower and what your experience is raw vs steamed then frozen?

Begin by lying on your back with your knees bent. Bring arms close to your side body. Palms can either slide under your bum or be placed on the ground. 
With an inhale, press your forearms firmly into the ground and begin to lift your heart (upper torso) up to the sky while lifting your head off the ground. Slowly begin to release the top of your head back onto the ground without dumping any weight into it. Be mindful to avoid crunching your neck. 
Stay here or lift your feet off the ground to form an eagle variation with your legs 🤗

cya Boston! Next stop: LA ✈️ Bringing the essentials with me for a longish flight: kindle, headphones and my probiotics. Sunnies and swimsuit to hit the beach soonest we land (I’m obviously bringing the top, LA ain’t Barcelona 🙆🏽🤷🏽‍♀️) you’ve seen how much more I’ve been conscious on keeping my gut healthy, specially when traveling. I don’t want to get a bad digestion with all the changes. I’ve been trying to add some fermented foods or drink kombucha but just in case I don’t get them in, I’m bringing my @silverfernbrand probiotics and drink mix. I love traveling but I also love staying healthy and not compromise how I feel, cause let’s be honest hungry and sick Ana ain’t no fun 🤷🏽‍♀️ so bringing my pre and probiotics is key 🔑 next time I see ya will be in vegan paradise, sorry, LA 🌴

Cyclic living and intuitive eating go hand in hand. Women, we are magical. Our bodies do amazing things on a monthly basis and they need ENERGY to do these amazing changes. When ovulating, when menstruating, your energy needs change and you will likely be hungrier and crave different foods. If we ate the same foods, same calories, same marcronutrients are bodies wouldn't be supported in what they need to do those amazing things. 1/2 tsp @gaiaherbs golden milk

If you’re going to come back from vacation and throw yourself back into your routine right away, doing it with a fun luncheon hosted by @nomnompaleo and @wholefoodsnyc is the best way to do it. I had the best time watching Michelle Tam cook some of her delicious meals from her new cookbook “Ready or Not” and of course eating our way through all of the food! Featured here is roasted carrots with a delicious sesame ginger sauce that I just want to cover all of my food in, chicken & shrimp laap which was delicious in lettuce cups, and dessert was her rustic chocolate cake topped with @anitasyogurt coconut yogurt. I had to go back for seconds on that of course!

It’s 💥💥💥 And on another note, if you find yourself with a little extra pumpkin purée lying around, maybe you want make some seasonal hummus? 🙃 I’ve shared how to do just that on stories today ❤️ ps: it makes for a perfect holiday gift too *
