Chicken and bacon veggie one pan wonder
5 slices cooked bacon chopped
2 chicken breast chopped in cubes
1 cup Brussels
1 cup butternut squash
2 Tbsp @sirkensingtons spicy brown mustard
2 Tbsp maple syrup
1/4 cup raw pecans
1 Tbsp dried cranberries

Cook your bacon and transfer to a dish,  reserve 1 Tbsp of the bacon fat. Add the diced chicken breast, salt + pepper to same pan you cooked bacon in and cook for 5-7 minutes. Transfer chicken to dish with bacon. Add the butternut squash, Brussels, spicy brown mustard, and maple syrup and cook 7-10 minutes. Add the chicken, chopped bacon, pecans, and dried cranberries, mix and enjoy!

anyone else feel as though the holidays approach faster and faster every year, leaving little time to actually get into the holiday spirit before they’ve already come and gone? this week, i really want to do my best to savor all that is wonderful this time of year and appreciate every opportunity it allows me to be surrounded by those who mean the most to me. that’s really what it’s all about.

now of course, it’s also all about enjoying deliciously festive eats + treats together, like these crazy easy gingerbread balls by @restoring_radiance. i do need to give a shout-out to @kaleintheclouds for inspiring me to make these after seeing her recent post. if gingerbread is your jam, you will absolutely adore these.

ingredients:
- 1 cup dates (if dry, soak in hot water for 3 min + drain well)
- 1 cup walnuts, soaked in water for 2 hours + then drained - 1 tbsp molasses - 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp ginger
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 cup @enjoylifefoods dark chocolate mega-chunks, melted with some coconut oil (for drizzling)

directions:
1. } process walnuts + dates together in a food processor or blender until well-incorporated
2. } add remaining ingredients, minus the dark chocolate, and blend until smooth
3. } let mixture harden up in the fridge for one hour
4. } remove from fridge and roll into balls (use 1 1/2 tbsp worth of the mixture for each one)
5. } drizzle melted chocolate over formed balls and store in the freezer; enjoy anytime!

MONDAYZZZZ 🔥 I usually love Mondays and very motivated. Not today tho. Today was hard. I didnt want to get out of bed, or even get out the apartment. I started to feel sorry for myself because I snoozed my alarm 100x, I didnt follow my macros to a T this weekend, and the list went on and on. Until I stopped myself for one second, and just thank myself because I’m alive. I’m able to move. I quickly realized I have the power to become whoever I wanted to be. I choose to be kind to myself, to get up and slowly my day started to change. YOU HAVE THE CHOICE. You can change your day, your week, your life. I went to feel so down this morning to have the guts to set up my self timer and shoot a photo of myself in the middle of a busy Brooklyn Street 🙃 .

This week is the last week I’ll be cooking for the family I currently cook for 😔 I’ve been with them for almost 2 years now & they’ve grown to be like family to me. I’m SO sad that my chapter with them has to come to an end but even more grateful that I was given such an amazing opportunity to work with them in the first place. I always tell them - no matter what kind of day I’m having, I show up at their house to cook & it all goes out the door. A smile pops on my face & my heart is happy. I can’t stop thinking how lucky I’ve been to go to work the past 2 years with that feeling in my heart. To truly ENJOY my work & to go home fulfilled every night. Yesterday I had the kids over to bake GF/DF gingerbread cookies, make soup & watch a movie on the projector in our backyard. Such a full heart this morning 💛 Happy Monday sweet friends.

I used @raisinggenerationnourished GF gingerbread cookie recipe & subbed with coconut sugar & a dairy free butter substitute for the kids. The dough was SUPER easy to work with & tasted great 👍🏻

Truth be told, 
Most days I don’t know what the F I’m doing. 😜 I doubt there’s a day that goes by that I don’t feel some sort of doubt, some sort of fear, some sort of resistance toward what I do or who I am. Some days the above gets the best of me, where I realize just how much work I still have to do to release the grip of limiting beliefs and shitty self talk. 😆 (Ya feel me!?)
Haha! Yet still, here I am, showing up with so much joy love and excitement for this beautiful life, for the work I do, for the potential this day holds to impact, serve and grow. 🙏🏼✨ How do we show up and keep pushing for the dream with good and clear intention
when we have fear? 
When we have self doubt? 
When we feel unworthy or incapable?

We show up regardless by leaning into what makes us feel whole, happy, and abundant af, that’s how. ✊🏼🔥 This weekend I had some inner child and mindset bs come up that showed me work still needed to be done to release some of my beliefs and blocks that have held me back in the past. This morning, I poured it all into my practice, I let what needed to come to surface bubble up— allowing myself to feel whole and balanced. 💯And I received the clarity and downloads I needed to make the SHIFTS, allowing me to feel the unlimited abundance. 🙋🏻‍♀️Then, I began the work day with business client and alignment client calls- and no surprise, the very shit I’m working thru is what came up SO much in my calls. This became so clear to me: it is SO important to make your work something that gives you joy and happiness, because your work will become one of the BEST ways to get aligned on the daily. 👊🏼 We are all one, Babes. A collective consciousness all figuring shit out as we go. As we heal, as we learn how to rise and expand into our bigness, we gain the tools to teach others how to do the same. Don’t ever allow yourself to think the world doesn’t need what you have. Your stories, your experiences, your journey of RISE is the greatest gift to pay forward and others with. 💫 LEAN INTO your purpose, calling and what lights you UP ... & let it be what gets you showing up in spite of the fear and doubt. 💯 All my love on this monday FUNday! Let's chat about the beautiful butterfly shaped gland in our necks - the thyroid! There's been a lot of debate in my Fb group and on DM in the past week between medication changes and labs results and who to see and the whole 9 yards. First, you need adequate lab work interpreted with an optimal range in mind. TSH is not enough! Western medical ranges are not even the same between labs! One lab in town lists the high end of the normal range at 4, the one across town is 5.5. Neither are optimal. If your medical doctors lab range was say 1-4 and your TSH was 3.9 you would not be treated, despite having thyroid symptoms. How insane is that?! Keep in mind the people getting tests done probably aren't getting them done because they feel awesome which is why the standard "normal" range is so screwed up. A naturopath or functional medicine practitioner can order a full thyroid panel for you. Your medical doctor too, but you may have to talk them into it. I found an AMAZING resource for you all about what labs to ask for and how to interpret them yourself! The link is modernthyroidclinic.com/gift. They have no idea who I am, I just found them from a podcast and felt that I needed to share their super helpful resource. What other questions do you have about thyroid health? Spending the next two weeks considering what I want from the year ahead and I'm so excited for it. I have so many plans to launch nutrition programs, online courses, to continue my education and be better. But the work I find the most important is the work i need to do on the inside. Perhaps one day I'll be able to speak more candidly about it. But for everyone who is working through pain, past hurts, depression, anxiety, and just #adulting realities. I see you and I'm there too. Things are not always as perfect as they seem on the outside. I know. Life is beautiful. But it's messy too. The work we do inside is never ever over. And that is a-ok. You, me- just as we are now. That's perfect. Continuing to open the window to more and more self love. And that doesn't just mean more baths 💕 though that's good too. It's changing the way we interact with ourselves on a deeper level. This is the work I'm most proud to approach for the coming year. 🌱

Okay big announcement here: pasture raised duck eggs are hella good. Ever since my @cleanprogram 21 day cleanse I’ve been having an issue w eggs giving me headaches and brain fog, even when I buy pasture raised (which, as an aside, are best to buy bc they have less cholesterol, less saturated fat, more Vitamin A, double the amount of omega-3 fatty acids, triple the amount of Vitamin E, and 7 times more beta carotene than conventional eggs). My mom mentioned as a kid she had an egg allergy that she (apparently) grew out of (but I think she just became accustomed to headaches and thought that was normal) so I’ve been experimenting w not eating them and today I tried local pasture raised duck eggs (found at @wholefoodsnova)! Honestly SO good, the yolk is HUGE and so far no headache! PLUS I made this in my new cast iron skillet I got from my mom as a birthday present and that crisp was insane. Paired w half of my favorite grain free everything bagel from @barelybread, half an avo, scallions, and some sprouts. Happy Monday! Now off to study for my last final 😑 #clairescreations 🦆🍳🥑💚

I have naturally tight shoulders and hips so wheel pose is a tricky pose for me to feel super comfortable in. Here I’m using blocks under my hands to provide a bit more height and helping to open my shoulders!

One way to get into wheel (how I usually do!) is from laying on your back with knees bent, soles of the feet on the floor. Bring palms alongside the ears and press the hips towards the sky pressing into the hands and lifting the torso off the mat.

If I was going to further focus on alignment in this shape I would also use a block in between my legs (to keep the knees from splaying out wide) or even using a tight strap around the thighs. ⠀

Today is day 8️⃣of #PROPSPROPSHOORAY  and the pose brought to us by the amazing @bendybree is Wheel or #Chakrasana ! ⠀ I have naturally tight shoulders and hips so wheel pose is a tricky pose for me to feel super comfortable in. Here I’m using blocks under my hands to provide a bit more height and helping to open my shoulders! ⠀ ⠀ One way to get into wheel (how I usually do!) is from laying on your back with knees bent, soles of the feet on the floor.
