I’m visiting my parents for a day, and could be away from home for another day or so with a possible layover in a hotel. I’m getting some work done planning my next presentation, using Dr. Greger’s book as a resource and taking notes in a very useful and sentimental notebook. This stuff is pretty powerful, and I️ want to share what I️ know with the world. Eat plants 🌱, Stay Healthy, folks. 💪🏻
This picture was taken at one of the biggest cancer centers in Rochester. This is what cancer patients are fed. We have sugary grape juice, jello, granulated sugar, milk and some disgusting looking oatmeal. Can we do better? #cancer#itsthefood

Not all carbs are created equal. But not all are bad. Pizza carbs are not the same as potato carbs. Understand which ones are refined, processed and stripped of all of their nutrients and learn which ones are whole, unprocessed, unrefined and full of nutrition that your body needs. DON'T BE AFRAID OF CARBS.
Why do we drink the milk from another species of animal?
I did it for the first 22 years of my life, so don't feel bad. But then I changed, and now I don't. And you can change too. #milk#dairy#cow#cheese

My #vegan#breakfast slop. Haha 😂 Guess what’s in the bowl? Bottom line is this food doesn’t have to look fancy, it has to Taste good and it has to be plants. Eat more #plants , like your mama told you!
This is my ‘grateful face’. I just got done speaking to 30 employees of a local business at a lunch and learn about plant based nutrition and living a healthier life. I got some great reviews, great questions and great feedback. Big honor and privilege to speak to groups of people. #grateful I took this picture as I was reading 📖 a study entitled “Lifestyle Medicine: A Brief review of its dramatic impact on health and survival”. This is something I love learning about and love doing. #grateful . At a local coffee ☕️ shop eating my lunch of steel cut oats and fresh fruit, sipping on a black coffee. Life is good. Health is wealth. Do what you’re passionate about doing and you won’t work a day in your life. #dreams#lifeisgood#passion#wfpb#vegan

The ethical aspects of adopting a plant-based diet have evolved with me over the years. And although this isn't my main focus, it certainly plays a role in the equation. Does it a play a role in your equation? #ethics#animalcruelty#animalrights#vegan
We don't need drugs to heal from many of the chronic diseases of today. We need to identify the root cause of what's causing our illnesses and eliminate it.
And in many cases, it's the food. @wholefuture

One can look at the literature and find tons of #evidence that a plant-based lifestyle is THE healthiest. But then again, there's evidence that #ketogenic diets also have positive effects. Look even wider, bigger picture. The longest lived populations on the plant, the #bluezones , eat a plant based diet. And second, this is the food that we evolved eating; not #butter on #steak , or bacon or coconut oil. Think about it. Go for nutrient density, go for #phytochemicals and go for #plants .
Would you call me crazy if I told you late stage heart disease was reversible? And that genetics plays a small role in your health?
It's not crazy, it's science, it's evidence and it's the RULE, not the exception when you change your diet and lifestyle. This truth, unfortunately, HAS been suppressed and I, for one, want to make people aware of it.
My conversation with Nelson Campbell will be coming out tomorrow.
Lifestyle medicine works by fixing the root cause. It takes away the 'thing' that is causing the chronic disease. And the work Dr. Goldhamer is doing with water fasting at True North, the chronic disease does away very quickly.
People do nothing and get well. It's that simple. #waterfast#chronicdisease#lifestyle#rootcause

Yes we can...we CAN solve this problem. We need to start with ourselves. Once we're healthier, we can help others and lead as shining examples of what diet and lifestyle can do for the human body. Eat plants, move your body, eliminate the foods that harm and eat the foods that heal and let your body do the rest.
Don't wait until you have a debilitating disease to change your diet and lifestyle. Do it now for yourself, for your family, for the world. The change is easier than you think.

We need to be the solution to our problems, especially when those problems involve our health. As soon as we learn the fundamentals of proper human nutrition and what is causing our chronic diseases, we can take responsibility for our health and forget about politicians and our government being the solution to our problem.
Learn how to eat and live properly by listening to the most information dense resource on the internet, The Ian Cramer Podcast.
Dr. Goldhamer speaking about water fasting within his True North Clinic. The reason why people are taking medications for high blood pressure or high cholesterol is because of their diet. So, when you change your diet, you HAVE to adjust the medication. Ask your doctor if Lifestyle Medicine is right for you. #waterfast#medication#truenorth

A very important quote from Pam is something we've all encountered regardless of the topic. We need to educate in a non-judgmental, non-threatening way. And if the person doesn't want to hear it, great!. Move on. If the person wants to learn more, great! Teach them. If the person doesn't want to eat, don't ram information down their throat. That's not an effective way to get a point across.
Listen to the context of this quote in ICP 21. LINK in BIO ^^^
Modern medicine is amazing, no one can deny that. It also has a way of tricking us into thinking that the newest method designed to prevent or treat a certain medical condition is BETTER than what we had before, and as Pam explains in our interview, that's not always the case. The newer method can be a wash or can even be harmful to the patient. #medicine#harmful #

So let me get this straight...
--->I am paying farmers to grow insanely cheap corn...to produce insanely cheap corn syrup and grow cheap beef...so we can buy these foods cheap....and grow ill because we're eating too much of it... ---> And then my tax dollars are also being used to treat chronic diseases with Medicaid dollars. So who benefits? Do you get it? Cause I sure don't.
Catch my interview from Pam tomorrow on the ICP.
What do we want from life? Sure we want to live old and happy and fulfilled BUT not when we're ravaged by disease, breathing from an oxygen tank or immobile in a wheelchair. We want to live into old age AND be fully functional. And THE BEST way to ensure that happens is by paying attention to what you eat. What you eat turns into your skin, your organs, your blood! So if you eat crap, you're going to turn into crap.
Don't turn into crap. Listen to the ICP. Link Below.
Animals in the wild don't worry about what they're supposed to eat. They eat the foods that their bodies were made for. And human's should be no different. We were made to eat certain foods; plants. The arguments and evidence are solid. So eat the foods we evolved eating. Any food that was made by man instead of by nature, skip it. It's not food. It's #poison . #Evolution#paleo#myth#protein#brotein#evidence
Another presentation and Q&A in the books with my man Derek. This was last night in the last town I thought that would ask a couple of guys to come in and speak about a plant based lifestyle, Sodus, NY. Derek and I have accomplished huge athletics feats, so anyone who tells you you need protein from animal products is wrong. The proof is in the Plant-based pudding.
Really fun group. Engaged and interested. Thanks to Everyday Gourmet Bakery & Cafe for the invitation and time and energy needed to put on this event.
One of the biggest problems I see is people have a fundamental misunderstanding of basic nutritional concepts. You don't need to know about the Kreb's Cycle or complex biochemistry. But, understanding what macronutrients are and what foods they're in IS a big deal and would make people less ignorant and much healthier.

This quote from Andy Bellatti, MS, RD resonated with me because I have a big problem with people yelling at other people. Yelling at others without sufficient evidence, and these 'arguments' are likely sprinkled with ad hominem attacks and mockery. Bring your evidence to the table in a professional and civil way or else you will lose credibility. Hold people to higher standards. Pride yourself on sound evidence and civil discourse.

This is a heartbreaking statement because it's THE solution. As Pam says, "the root of the problem". We need to have the touch conversations because ultimately, it's what's going to help the patient and help the country and the world with our health, with the planet's health and preventing animals from being killed, needlessly.

Sad but true. Food lobbies have SO much power and clout over our nutritional recommendations. And you would be justified to be outraged, angry, confused or any combination of those. This is a problem. But when I see problems, I look for solutions. And there are several simple solution here:
1. Don't drink Milk-It doesn't do your body ANY good. Cons outweigh pros.
2. Don't believe everything the government tells you.
3. Keep an open mind.
4. Do your own investigating and outside learning via multiple sources, like podcasts with medical doctors and scholars of lifestyle medicine!

All creatures were meant to eat a certain diet. If an elephant is forced to eat meat, that elephant is going to be harmed. If a lion is forced to eat vegetation, that lion is going to suffer. If humans eat tons of meat, processed sugars, oils and dairy, our health is going suffer. Food is powerful! It can cause disease or can cause health. The choice is yours.

Andy Bellatti, MS, RD thinks we should be looking at the bigger picture and not only eat less of the bad foods, but ELIMINATE the bad foods and call them what they really are! Do you know where your food comes from? Or more importantly, do you know what the food your eating does to your body?

Why is unhealthy food so cheap? And why is healthy food so expensive? One of the most common questions I get...and "It costs too much to eat healthy". To a degree, I see where you're coming from. But, some of the cheapest foods on the planet are plants, like Brown Rice, Potatoes and Oats. Throw in some broccoli and frozen berries and you're leaps and bounds healthier than you were without spending an arm or a leg. But we must ask the question of 'Why is the most unhealthy food, the cheapest'? Andy Bellatti, MS, RD is actively trying to educate people on the answers and what to do about it.
