my ulcer saving grace 💜🔮💜 I still can't get over how cabbage looks like the gut inside and out as well (see: doctrine of signatures)
>> cabbage contains glutamine which is an amino acid that replenishes and repairs gut lining
>> cabbage also contains glucosinates which get converted into anti inflammatory compounds
juicing is a great way to harness these benefits as many people with digestive problems cannot handle raw cruciferous vegetables
⚡️combine equal parts carrot and cabbage and drink 1-3x daily
shout out @plantfullnutrition for getting me on this train several months ago, it's become part of my flare routine 🌟
This morning my hubby made me breakfast and it was yummy! This scramble take on steak and eggs may not be pretty but its definitely delicious 😋
He scrambled eggs with cut up steak from last night (in olive oil) than put it on a piece of toast. I added dried oregano and salt to top it off!
The ice cream was melting FAST, and I also didn't care to spend too much time getting a better picture (of course now I regret it..lol)...but I made some delicious allergen free dessert tonight! Gluten free, vegan coffee cake with homemade, vegan, oat milk ice cream. 😍😍😍 I'm bad at sharing recipes, but if you ask I promise I'll give it! I just died and went to heaven. Also, going back to bed. Anemia hitting me so hard after 3 months of daily blood loss... I could barely stand in the kitchen tonight. Thank goodness I only had one job today! 😪😪😪😪😪😪
Found this delicious chocolate bar last week and it did not make me sick! Chocolate has been really bad for me lately (😭😭😭😭) so this was very nice to have -(and NOT get sick!) I still don't know whether I felt good was because of a new supplement, or if it was b/c of the probiotics or the fact that it's a great product! 😅 Either way I enjoyed it. 😊 If you need to know- it's gluten free, vegan, soy free, almond free, and gmo free! If you're a local friend, pm me and I'll tell you where to find it, otherwise call the manufacturer and ask the nearest distributor to your city. (It was a local/specialty health food store, not a chain.)
HURRICANE DISASTER RELIEF
I hate that I just wrote "disaster" in full caps, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do to share her message, right? I have for real been trekking all around Barcelona the last two days, looking at the Mediterranean from every vista, but only thinking of the Atlantic. I've been asking the same question all day...
What can I do?
And it's an empowering, like seriously, what the fuck am I GOING to do, because I may be halfway around the world, but that's no excuse. Maybe you've been thinking the same thing? What can I do right now from where I am? My favorite way to contribute is time because it's something I really really value. But how can I contribute my time right now?
Ask and you shall receive. I connected with a few Floridian clients, who clearly are not in a place to be meal prepping over the stove tonight, I realized I CAN contribute time in a new way that also gives you the opportunity to contribute while working on your health + nutrition, just as my loves wish they COULD right now. It's a win-win-win. Boom. 💥 .
Some of you may not know about what I do with meal planning services, so let me give you a quick breakdown. We chat and talk health&lifestyle goal. Some of my clients have weight loss goals. Some want more energy. Some have a digestive thing happening like IBS that they want to regulate ASAP. Just think about where you want your body, health, energy to be? Food can get you there. .
Then I get ALL of your LIFE specifications (tastebuds, travel, and time). #sustainability I send you a customized meal plan to your goals and your tastebuds including a grocery list and prep list, so it doesn't take you ages. In fact usually 30m a few times a week will do.
They're amazing, super targeted, delightful recipes. (That take time for me to plan.)
THAT is the time I can contribute. THAT is the value you can contribute. All new meal plan clients that enroll in Sept will have 50% of the proceeds contributed to a relief effort of their choice. Can you seriously think of a more loving way to being a new journey? Send me a message for a simple Discovery Call! Love, me and you and Harvey and Irma and Jose.
He's got a heart of gold 💛
It's been awhile since I've posted a #buddyupdate , so I thought I would share our latest experiences with an IBD dog. We've been crazy busy since we took an extended weekend to go camping; life & work certainly didn't pause for us while we were up north. Buddy recovered extremely well from his abdominal explore; he was given the green light after two weeks of strict crate rest. Let's just say he is over the moon to be allowed to run at full speed again... and boy, oh boy, is he a fast one! 😈 We've started weekly B12 injections, which Buddy stands completely still for & is an angel. We also started transitioning him from his old diet to a new prescription diet while he was recovering from surgery. Buddy didn't show any side effects or digestive issues during the transition, BUT when he was finally fully transitioned to his new prescription diet, he began having complete liquid diarrhea. We went an entire week cleaning up after daily accidents and could tell Buddy pretty embarrassed as well (RIP our hardwood floors). 😰 After consulting our specialist, they recommended a short term antibiotic for his tummy troubles & possibly re-mixing back some of Buddy's old diet with the prescription diet. We have yet to pick up the prescription--I'm not a fan of just giving antibiotics if they're not truly needed to solve the core problem--but we have started to mix in just a little of the old diet with prescription diet. Happy to report that we're 2 days accident-free! 💩🤞🏼
Anyone else out there with an #IBD dog that could provide some insight or suggestions? 🙏🏼❤️
Wednesdays are by far my longest day of the week. I'm at uni from 8/8:30 am until 6pm! I would also consider myself someone who really relies on food as fuel! I honestly cannot concentrate through a whole day if all I'm thinking about is how hungry I am 😓
So here I thought I'd showcase how I'd pack a low FODMAP lunch to last me all throughout the uni day that's healthy and satisfying.
Here we have -cut up strawberries, raspberries and blueberries 🍓
-two mandarins - @cobspopcorn plain salted popcorn - cut up cucumber and red capsicum - oven baked chicken seasoned with @mingleseasoning low fodmap seasoning, zucchini, carrot, green beans and a small serving of broccolini (whatever amount you can tolerate) 🍆🍅🥒🥕🍗 I always start my day at uni with 2 slices of @alpinebreads sprouted seeds fodmap certified bread and @mayversfood natural smooth peanut butter. I also keep a water bottle on me which I drink throughout the day!
With all of this I feel super satisfied and am able to concentrate throughout all my classes (one of my classes alone is 3 hours!) and work on my assignments.
I can post more ideas of uni/work friendly lunches if others are interested. Would also love to know what some of your go-to uni/work lunches are!
This weeks lunch I stuck with one of my favorite things to make that is the easiest and where I get most nutritional bang for my buck 💸 Beef and veggie stir fry 🔥I cooked up some grass fed beef and stored it separately and then sauteed up some 🥕🥕zucchini, broccoli, red onion and cilantro in some coconut oil and coconut aminos for that amazing sweet and salty taste 😍 Added some guac 🥑 on top for a bigger source of healthy fats to make a balanced and delicious dinner! Tip if you want to create a stir fry for the week, use your imagination! Use up any leftover veggies you have in the fridge so they won't go bad or get wasted, throw in some garlic and onion to bring out some flavour and pair it with a healthy and easy source of protein and fat! This week was grass fed beef, if you’re eating vegan simply mix in some soaked and cooked chickpeas, lentils or some brown rice! Guacamole 🥑 is one of my favorite ways to get my healthy fats in but you could also top it with some pine nuts, chia seeds, extra virgin olive oil.. Ect. It really is that simple to eat a healthy balanced diet!
Good morning! I have a blood test in an hour to check on my platelets and everything else, so here's a healthy breakfast to make me feel better. Happy chicken egg (from my cousin's pet chickens) some mango, banana, a few pieces of walnuts from my auntie's tree and some yummy seedie bread 😊 I'm not reaaally supposed to have nuts and seeds right now but a few here and there can't kill me right? (I'll regret saying that later probably) anyways, hope everyone has the best day they can! ❤️❤️🍓
I was on the phone with a fellow #tonyrobbins soulsister yesterday, and I was all OMG GIRL. YOU DONT KNOW HEMP SEED. OMGAHHHH. BEST 🌱 BASED PROTEIN EVAAAAA. So today I honored the glory that they are. A bunch of Cruciferous Crunch in EVOO (outta coconut), topped with 2T (aka one Orange a Container for my Spiritual Warrior Challengers 😉), and 1T honey mustard for some tangy sweet. And oh how pretty. Head to my Story to see the exact kind I use! 👆🏻
Super easy, yet effective lunch this week! The rainbow salad 🌈 Here I have organic greens, 🍅🥒🥕+ red onions ! With a side of my chicken zucchini meatballs which you can learn all about in my last post 👇🏼Topped with hemp seeds and my super quick dressing: coconut aminos and olive oil! Having organic extra virgin olive oil uncooked on things such as salads is SUCH a great way to add a healthy source of fat to your diet, adding coconut aminos along side helps bring out that flavour and enhance the already delicious salad ! To make things easy, I simply pre cut a bunch of 🍅🥒🥕 and red onion for the week, stored it in the fridge so it's super easy for me to whip up a salad on the go, as well as my chicken zucchini poppers that I meal prepped as well! Staying on track has never been so easy 😊
For my IBS Warriors, here's a bit about my story, and a bit about what I recently made to help all my fellow warriors. I was inspired at a #TonyRobbins event to create it when I saw my Crew Family who prioritizes health, still suffering from chronic tummy troubles. I thought, I've figured it out for me, so maybe I can help them. Well the QuickStart Guide I made blew up our Facebook group, and the next thing I know, I'm in Facebook jail for sending too many messages. 🙊 I'm so humbled to be able to share it with the world here, just click the link in my bio and it'll go straight to your inbox. 💋 I don't want to get put in Instagram jail too. 😳 Included? 4 Rituals for Eating, Sample Meal Plan, Sample Grocery List + Prep List. Link in bio! 🔗👆🏻
I believe beauty radiates from the inside. Within yourself. Within food. Within this wellness elixir. I do NOT 🙅🏻 believe in simple protein shakes. Or weight loss shakes. Or wraps. Or pills. I believe in the power of FOOD, especially PLANTS. Every day I sip with gratitude. 7 YEARS of chronic nausea. Gone in 4 DAYS of a chocolate shake make 💯 with plants. No more medicine. No more crying on the bathroom floor. No more missed evenings out. No more fear of travel. No more breakdowns in grocery stores. No more blank stares as I sit down to write a grocery list. NO MORE. #beautyisfoundwithin
My almond milk is ready !
I love it 😍. My favorite alternative to milk .
1 cup of almonds
3 drops of vainilla extract
1 table spoon 🥄 agave syrup
Place the almonds in a ball with water 💦 and let it soak overnight.
In the morning wash the almonds and the water 💦 from the previous night you can use it for your plants.
-place the almonds into the blender - add 4 cups of water and 2 dates
- blend - filter the mix with a kitchen cloth or a cloth funnel - the remaining almond paste you can use it for your pastry or you can dry it at low temperature in the oven and store it in a bag for later usage - now add some vainilla extract and the agave syrup ( both are optional )
- drink 🍹 or store it in the fridge max 4 days.
Enjoy it ........delicious 😘😍😉
This is not Instagram-worthy as far as he PHOTO goes, but if you're here, then that means you're ready for the story that goes with it. ❤️ This plate is all vegetables with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. This plate is delightfully fulfilling. This plate is a WIN in my book. BECAUSE I have been been lowering my standards recently in the nutrition department, and it shows. I say no more. 🙅🏻 Time to lead by example. Time to show up for me. Time to indulge in veggies every chance I get. #yadig
Have you ever made avo sauce? It's THE easiest. Avo + Cilantro + Lemon + EVOO + S&P. Totes customizable. I love it over cucumber noodles, but raw zucchini noodles are better for Low FODMAP. Keep it smaller portion if you're in the IBS healing path, with some grilled chicken / shrimp and maybe some steamed greens. 🙌🏻
