Here's a little trick I have for keeping herbs fresh for longer. I take them out of their wrapping and put them into a plastic container. But first I line the container with paper towel to stop them getting soggy. Then seal the container and store in the fridge. They'll normally last at least twice as long when kept this way.

San Diego has BOMB farmers markets 👩🏼‍🌾 you can find the absolute freshest, organic fruits and veggies--all in season 🍓🍌🥒🥗. i just love the vibe of the market place and the overall energy. every day there is a farmers market open in some location and i seriously went to 5 this past week. with my newfound love for fruits and now that i'm trying out the #rawtill4 program, i DEFINITELY can use the deals i find on all the produce i need to buy! .

Last night I made a fruit platter for Christmas dinner with friends! 🤶🏻🎄🎁
It is an easy way to make sure there is dessert for me to eat; most of the lovely summer fruits like mango, cherries, and stone fruits are high in fodmaps, so I made sure there were plenty of berries and kiwi fruit for me 😊 (in reality though it was hard to avoid the gingerbread and ice cream hehe)

Gluten free, dairy free and pure deliciousness!, these Low Fodmap Cocoa Crinkle Cookies are SOO good – no one will know they’re allergen friendly!⠀
⠀
1 cups sugar⠀
⅓  cup canola oil⠀
⅓ cup cocoa powder⠀
2 eggs⠀
1 tsp vanilla extract⠀
1 ¼ cups all purpose gluten free flour⠀
1 tsp. baking powder⠀
⅛ tsp. salt⠀
¼ cup powdered sugar⠀
⠀
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and canola oil. Gradually stir in cocoa powder. Add eggs and vanilla, beating until well blended.⠀
In a separate bowl, stir together gluten free flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to cocoa mixture, mixing well.⠀
Cover dough and refrigerate for 6 hours or more.⠀
After dough has set, preheat oven to 350°F. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll dough into 1-inch balls before rolling in powdered sugar, to coat. Place on lined cookie sheet.⠀
Bake 11-13 minutes or until tops are crackled. Removed from oven and transfer to wire rack to cool. ⠀

Broccolini is just a baby broccoli - right?

They do look cute but the broccolini is not a baby broccoli it’s actually a cross between a regular broccoli and a Chinese broccoli (Gai Lan). So when it comes to FODMAPs, can we treat broccoli and broccolini the same way?

Broccoli and broccolini do both contain excess fructose, a type of Monosaccharide, the ‘M’ in FODMAP. The uptake of fructose is better when there is glucose present. So when you have too much fructose versus glucose, this can trigger symptoms in those with IBS such as bloating, diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

Recently Monash University tested broccoli and broccolini as:
1. whole vegetables
2. heads only
3. stalks only 
The results were very interesting 🥦 
1 cup of broccoli:
✅ whole vegetable = low FODMAP
✅ heads = low FODMAP
❎ stalks = high FODMAP*

1 cup of broccolini:
❎ whole vegetable = high FODMAP*
❎ heads = high FODMAP*
✅ stalks = low FODMAP

Note:
*To be considered low FODMAP reduce portion size from 1 cup to 1/2 cup 
So if you’re following a low FODMAP diet or if you are the 1 in 3 people sensitive to excess fructose you can still enjoy broccoli and broccolini, just:
1. watch portion sizes if you’re going to eat the whole vegetable
2. if you’re particularly sensitive to fructose stick to broccoli heads and broccolini stalks.

What a beautiful ‘Gluten & Dairy free’ ‘Chicken Caesar Salad Baguette’ 🥖

I saw that the ‘Chicken Caesar’ option had parmesan cheese inside it, I asked the lady behind the counter if it was at all possible to have no cheese or dressing, she went away into the kitchen and they said the chef would make me a fresh one, they even came back and told me I could have the dressing as it wasn’t made from dairy!

When a restaurant, cafe or even anywhere, to be honest, goes that extra mile just makes a dietary/illness feel that slightly bit easier.

Drinks can really catch you out at parties since they're often loaded with gut irritants and/or FODMAPs. The biggest problems are alcohol, fizzy drinks, fruit juices and caffeinated beverages, such as coffee.

Now, you don't have to avoid them altogether, but be careful which ones you choose. And make sure to have water every so often so you don't overdo it on these other risky drinks.

Drinks can really catch you out at parties since they're often loaded with gut irritants and/or FODMAPs. Here's a little trick I have for keeping herbs fresh for longer. I take them out of their wrapping and put them into a plastic container. But first I line the container with paper towel to stop them getting soggy. Then seal the container and store in the fridge. They'll normally last at least twice as long when kept this way.

But today.. before I headed to the airport I had chicken, cauliflower, and celery with peanut butter (protein keeps me full and some veggies to make me feel awesome) and as soon as I got through security I marched up to Starbucks and had them blend a packet of my superfoods with ice and almond milk.

I haven’t had avocado since may as it is a high fodmap. I have decided to reintroduce it now because i love the stuff and i am hoping it will be a success. (Everything else has been a fiasco so far! :((( )

Go-to breakfast these days: vanilla steel cut oats, berries, almond butter, @fitfabfodmap granola, and a drizzle of maple syrup.  Yum!

To be honest, I eat steel cut oatmeal for breakfast 99% of the days, but switch up my toppings.  I follow @ohsheglows recipe and make a big batch about once per week, and then keep it in the fridge to heat up individual servings throughout the week.

So take time out when possible to destress. Here's some ideas that have worked for me over the years:
* Go for a walk outside to “stretch your legs”.
* Sit outside for a few minutes to play with the dog.
* Find a quiet and empty room for a quick breather.
* Play with the children.
* Help out in the kitchen - this serves double duty because you can make the food safer for you.
* Find a comfy chair after the meal and have a little nap to rest for a few minutes.

Being vegan is not always cheap you may go full plant based 🌱and that’s awesome but I do sometimes need a treat 🍫 or something to complete my diet.
I’m very lucky to live in a country where you can get tons of fruits and veggies pretty much all year without them being extremely expensive -including avocado! 🥑 but besides that, we do not have access to a lot of vegan products.
Most of the vegan stuff we get are either homemade or imported, which make them insanely expensive.  I spent a total of 125USD/110€ for these few products and some of them are not even imported.
It is important for me to be #vegan and I would not change it but I also want to be honest and real. 
At the end it’s all up to you and what you decide to eat

Just because I am health & fitness coach doesn’t mean that I am 100% perfect all the time. 
I still love ice cream & cookies & pizza & tacos & all the food & I still eat them .😍 I have a wedding this weekend & im def going to be eating wedding cake. DUH 🤘🏼 Some days I have NO Motivation to work out or Desire to workout & some days I don’t workout. Today I had no want to get out of bed AT ALL! I didn’t wanna workout & I just wanted to stay in my bed but I realized I have goals & laying in bed isn’t going to help me reach those ! 
Being a coach doesn’t mean you have to be 100% perfect! I am a human & on a journey just like my fit fam girls are on their journey. We do it together! I’m telling you now I wouldn’t be  where I am today in my journey if it wasn’t for the community in my fit fam. 
One of the things I hear the most is I wish I could have the drive & Motivation you have to live like you do & you know what I tell them.. YOU CAN! 
It’s all about your mindset & changing your attitude! My journey all started with the day where I decided I was tired of feeling like crap every single day & that I needed a change! Just because I am health & fitness coach doesn’t mean that I am 100% perfect all the time. I still love ice cream & cookies & pizza & tacos & all the food & I still eat them .😍 I have a wedding this weekend & im def going to be eating wedding cake. DUH 🤘🏼 Some days I have NO Motivation to work out or Desire to workout & some days I don’t workout. Today I had no want to get out of bed AT ALL! I didn’t wanna workout & I just wanted to stay in my bed but I realized I have goals & laying in bed isn’t going to help me reach those ! Being a coach doesn’t mean you have to be 100% perfect! I am a human & on a journey just like my fit fam girls are on their journey. We do it together! I’m telling you now I wouldn’t be where I am today in my journey if it wasn’t for the community in my fit fam. One of the things I hear the most is I wish I could have the drive & Motivation you have to live like you do & you know what I tell them.. YOU CAN! It’s all about your mindset & changing your attitude! My journey all started with the day where I decided I was tired of feeling like crap every single day & that I needed a change! Mmmhhhh Lebkuchen... eine FODMAParme und glutenfreie Variante! - 350 g Mehl (glutenfreies Weissmehl und Buchweizenmehl 1:1)
- 250 g Rohrzucker
- 200 g gemahlene Haselnüsse
- 3EL Lebkuchengewürz
- 1Päckchen Vanillezucker
- 2 TL Zimt
- 1/2 Päcken Backpulver
=> alles mischen
- 2.5 dl Milch (lactosefrei) - 150 ml Rapsöl
- 3 Eier
- 2 EL Ahornsirup
=> mischen und zur Mehlmischung geben

Auf Blech ausstreichen und 20 min bei 200 Grad backen

Mit Ahornsirup-Wassermischung bepinseln und mit Puderzucker bestäuben
