I wanted to quit.
I wanted to quit and defer my next 2 marathons. I told my husband today what I was planning on doing. He doesn’t really yell at me. He did today. He told me he wasn’t going to let me give up on my goals because I had a bad run. He said just train. He pointed out that I just got use of my arm back and not even full use yet. Once I am able to train more with weights I will be fine. He said you will run those races. You are not running for you. You are running for your sister, your friends you lost or have fought/are fighting cancer and for your dad. 😢
Today I almost quit but my biggest supporter held me up and told me he was proud. 😭
Another evening, slowly but surely building up my distance.. my next aim is to achieve over 8KM. Perhaps 8.5KM distance?
It's all about improving my distance every time no matter what.
But after a long day, it took me a lot of mental motivation to go out and run tonight. But than I realised why I was doing all this.. to raise money for #mindcharity with my 26.6 marathon in May! Have managed to get lots done today and topped off the night leading the talk for my young people at Yf- love this time of the week, and just really loved the topic and reminder that regardless of the countless times I mess up, I am still loved and valued more than ever. My mistakes don't define me! What a life lesson! 😊Anyway, now tucked up cosy in bed, room tidied and meal planning done for the next few days! One more day of annual leave to enjoy then back to work Tuesday.. mind you according to a couple of my young people I'm always off work anyway! Here's a little motivation for anybody who is struggling to put on size or make progress to their reach their goals.
Although this isnt huge progress it means alot to me. The first picture I had actually been lifting for about 12 months, I was 17 years old and confused as to why I hadn't built much muscle. For some people building muscle comes naturally, for others it's a real challange. It took me a long time to actually begin to make any progress but I carried on anyway and the hard work is finally paying off! If you are struggling my message to you is to not give up, the progress may be slow, but slow progress is better than no progress! P.S please excuse the t shirt in the second pic it is now victim to regular construction work😂I wore the same t shirt to show my progress through my journey
Don’t forget that the sun always comes up and it will light up your days... you just have to keep fighting, do everything you can to continue to stay positive and don’t even try to loose your faith in yourself, your dignity and your right to be loved for who you truly are... you are special and you are strong... #believeinyourself#believe#staystrong#icaniwill#motnyamål#vågaförändradittliv
👉👉 2 weeks post first marathon and she still has some speed in those legs! Great job to Amanda who set an 8k course PR yesterday chopping off 17 seconds per mile from last year! 😰 Even with the new hilly course, it was no match for her strength!🙌 I am so proud of you, Amanda!! Keep up the great work and joy in all you do!! .
