What are the greater implications of this, and how does this manifest in other areas of my life? What is being revealed to be healed? Is this the first time you’re noticing this discomfort, or is this the first time you’re choosing to take a deep dive? Trust the timing of this, too. You are being shown that it’s finally time to take a closer look; all of your experiences have led you to this point. I had a fab 6am upper body sesh at the gym then a productive day of lectures, coursework and writing an essay so I am feeling good 🤓. My cut is going well too! I haven’t weighed myself recently, but I definitely feel leaner and less bloated. I am hoping to get some pics at some point this week to see if there is much of a visible change. But the most important thing to go by is how you feel!!

I’ve seen this a few times now, and this past week I finally lived it. I really didn’t feel like going to kickboxing. I’ve been off my Muay Thai game since the Christmas break and was making all sorts of excuses as to why I couldn’t go. I was about to skip another class, but I dragged my butt to the dojo simply with my first fight in mind. I got there and still wasn’t feeling it. I just haven’t been in that “push yourself until you feel like you’re about to die, it’s fun” mindset I guess 😅 but then class started, and I have never had a better class. I had more power than ever before, I was faster than ever before. I gave it every ounce I had, and I walked out of there feeling like a champion. -
Progress doesn’t come on the days when you’re pumped and ready to go. Progress comes on the days when you just want to cuddle at home with your cats, but go anyways. It’s about the discipline. Those days are the days you will surprise yourself.

So basically I always knew stretching after working out was important but I didn't know exactly why...
But now I've completed my Level 2 Fitness Instructor course it has been well and truly drummed into me the importance of stretching and now I love it! 💗 I make sure I put aside at least 5 mins after every workout now! Here are some of the benefits:
▫️Elasticates muscle fibres increasing flexibility and range of motion especially if you do developmental stretches (where you increase the stretch after 15secs of holding a static stretch) great for ass to grass squats!💃

▫️Returns muscles make to their original shape and size thus also reducing muscle soreness 👍

▫️You may not think about it now but you will be so grateful for increased flexibility when you're older and will let you have a better quality of life 👵

From the moment I left hospital in August of 2015, I was discharged with a Mindset of being focused on becoming smaller than I had gone it at. During my time in inpatient I went from a scary 27KG to 44KG. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thinking back now on how I perceived myself at that minimum healthy weight is quite scary. Terrifying to think about how warped my perception of my own body was.
In this first picture (Summer 2016) was probably the strongest anorexia ever had its grip on me, despite not being the smallest I’d ever been (BECAUSE ITS A MENTAL DISORDER NOT PHYSICAL). I spent that summer doing normal things with my friends, eating sometimes, drinking etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀
But that way of living was something I was able to maintain for such a long time because I had become so scarily good at hiding things and manipulating those around me.
My eating disorder had turned-unlike before, very body and weight focused, in fear of losing the identity of being ‘ill’. Or just being perceived as fat by other, regardless of how it was all affecting my health.
Right now, you all know what I do🏋️♀️ But I’m 22KG heavier than I was in that photo.
Do people like me any less? No.
Is my quality of life 10000x better? Yes.
Am I happy within myself? Yes!
How your body is, or what weight you are does not define who you are. Never ever ever ever did I think I would willingly allow myself to be anywhere over that 44kg I was told to be at, lol never mind 11kg over🕺🏽 My weight is not what makes me happy anymore. What makes me happy now is life as a whole, the people, what I do, the food lols😇
If you are struggling, I hope you realise someday that you are worth so much more than a number x
So today was the day....I went back to the gym for the first time in probably about 6 WEEKS 😱 I’ve nearly lost a stone since I stopped training so I knew these skinny little legs needed seeing to 😳 obviously only legs could be done and only the leg machines that didn’t need my upper body but oh my god i was destroyed after 15 minutes 😂 I seriously needed my @idealfituk BCAAs today!!!

Today’s workout was sponsored by Sudafed Sinus. I don’t know if it was the cheat day wine or if I’m brewing something, but I started Week 4 Day 1 with a headache and runny nose. Broke in my new @idealfit gym bag and took some liberties with today’s workout. I moved my schedule around to kick off the week with leg day. Despite relief in symptoms I still felt groggy so I postponed Tabatas. Low and slow burn was the goal today. Higher incline on the treadmill warm up, higher weights on all machines and bells, and higher resistance on my elliptical cool down. I hate eating before working out so I combined meals 1 & 2 this Flush Day. Almond milk, pasteurized egg white, strawberry shake with Pina Colada IdealLean Protein and 2 egg omelette with pepper jack and turkey bacon. Aiding the heavy lifting with my Grape IdealLean BCAAs. This past week’s had its ups and downs. I stuck to the RP template really well until I weighed myself Friday night. 😫
Shouldn’t have done that. I was down a pound and pissed about it. I know I should trust the process. I know a number on a scale doesn’t define me, but I’m impatient and want my hard work to pay off instantly sooo 🤷🏽♀️
Anyway - I’m starting off this week right. Interval sprints. (Really a walk, run, walk, run...) but I feel cooler calling them interval sprints. I’m kind of just piecing together this week’s eating and workouts as I’m flying out to Detroit to watch my brother’s five kids. It’s my first long time away from Porter so I’m anticipating being a little emotionally weird and trying to plan ahead. If I force myself into strict expectations, I may not do so well. SO my plan for this week is to work out in some fashion every day and don’t go overboard with my eating.
I WILL be the fun aunt that gets pizza and eats it with them. 😉
A part of my interval sprints playlist is in the second picture. My anxiety about running is all in my head so I’ve found if I have my headphones in and blast these songs while I run, I don’t have room in my head to think about anything. I just let go and run. It’s one of my favorite feelings.
