The first time I saw this bird was in Chapada dos Guimarães, to get closer I walked in the middle of the vegetation and found many bees, I could observe this bird for only a few seconds. Another day in another city, walking with the family I heard his song. It was the same bird. It was in front of me a few feet away, but I could not find it in the middle of the branches. The next day I woke up very early and went to the tree. With great happiness we saw her! It was only a few meters away. It was sensational.
Spot backed Puffbird ( Nystalus maculatus )
The morning sun peaked over the ridge behind me and lit up the fall coloured trees surrounding this small stream. I sat patiently waiting for this Wood Duck to look my way as the golden colors surrounded him. Just as I clicked the shutter the sounds of a near by Crow harassing what seemed to be a bird of prey caught his attention and he perked up his head.
It was great to finally get out shooting after a month long break. Spending time with this rare species here on the island of Newfoundland certainly made it even more satisfying.#opcmag#sharecangeo
Apparently blue and white has become one of the most popular colour combinations in history. This classic colour palette originated in Asian ceramics in the 9th century. The printing of blue and white fabric in the 18th century lead the way for fashion designers using blue and white as a prominent colour combination for years to come. Well all this is very interesting but one thing they didnt say was way before any of this Days of Daintree owned this look , heck this pint sized power house wrote the book.
