#ColorlessLuxury White food generally refers to foods that are white in colour and that have been processed and refined, like flour, rice, pasta, bread, crackers, cereal, and simple sugars like table sugar and high-fructose corn syrup.
A person just beginning the Eat Nothing White diet is instructed to completely eliminate the following foods from her diet: white rice, white potatoes, white beans, white sugar and any product made with refined sugar and white flour products like white bread or pasta.
Many white starchy foods such as pasta, white bread and rice, and potatoes contain refined starches and have a higher glycemic index rating than brown starches. High-glycemic-index foods will cause higher peaks in blood sugar and can wreak havoc on your insulin regulation.
Natural, unprocessed white foods, such as onions, cauliflower, turnips, white beans, and white potatoes don't fall into the same category. (Of course, health goes out the window when you deep-fry these or any other vegetables, or slather them with butter, sour cream, or cheese.)

I've been a little enamored with my new cooking interests lately. It all started with finally having a kitchen to myself, a little pent up creativity and the ultimate foundation of food love. After a couple years of health battles and pretty intense mood swings and weight gain, I needed change. Not the restricting kind, but more of a taking it back kind. Not throwing my money away on junk food to subtly filled empty spaces that I wasn't ready to explore. Cooking has become a sort of meditation. A new form of creative and connection rehabilitation Now...I'm learning what I actually like, what's possible to switch out to gain more stability, better sleep and more sustained energy. The odd thing is it's started to breathe new life into old things I thought I'd lost forever. Every day is one step closer to making more choices based on what I KNOW wakes me up to true connection with self and others. It's showing me to trust inspiration, and trust my own voice. Creativity is in all of us. It's an energy that goes beyond physical form and connects us to our spiritual and emotional selves. It's not limited to a specific medium for anyone... it's our banner, our resource, our anthem, our expression and I'm confident it doesn't have to look or sell in any particular way for it to be true or real. If one approach to those light bulb moments is worn... Try a different angle. You just may find a pulse that brings it all back to life again...
