Morning: Burritos de lengua y horchata at King Taco in East LA. The sun was powerful but not as much as my love for the food.
Disney in Halloweentime is highkey my fave. Obviously we tried to ride The Haunted Mansion (my favorite ride ever) but it had a 90 minute wait time. To heal my broken heart, I HAD to score a Dole Whip.
Afternoon: In love with LA’s griminess. Tbh I feel at home, lol. Lunch at Grand Central Market for some Filipino rice bowls, then off to Hollywood Boulevard to really be tourists. Ran inside the Roosevelt (didn’t see any ghosts 😢), got some GROM, and took a photo with MY president’s star.
Night: I’m pointing to the spot where they found The Black Dahlia. I made my boyfriend take me, lol. Then, the Ducktales premiere with @cameron.butler.114, who appears in the credits! Topped it all off with dessert at MILK on Beverly.
New AW17 @po.em_ just arrived at Sunchild! PO-EM textile works are proudly made in partnership with established fair trade artisan cooperatives. Every piece is intent on being genuine and to serve as an ode to the handmade. Everyday Top pictured in Charcoal Block Print. #lovesunchild

Interesting thing happened at the Memorial Park today... Some guy was giving out free water, which generally wouldn’t surprise me, except this one didn’t need anything in return: he wasn’t selling anything, he wasn’t asking for donations, he wasn’t even trying to convince the strangers that they need some Jesus in their lives, which I see a lot of lately.
Runners would just snatch bottles out of his hands without stopping.. avoiding potential questions or offers that they would have to politely decline... To be completely honest, I was about to grab a bottle and pass the guy too. Who wants to interrupt the interesting podcast to talk to a stranger anyway? But I was too curious so I stopped. He seemed to be slightly intimidated at first, but then explained that he just wanted to do a good deed, that people do not drink nearly enough pure and simple water and that this was his small contribution to making the world a better place. WOW!
As an immigrant, I am often being asked what’s my favorite thing about Houston. My response is always the same: the people. Today I was reassured one more time.
