“If people were always kind and obedient to those who are cruel and unjust, the wicked people would have it all their own way; they would never feel afraid, and so they would never alter, but would grow worse and worse. When we are struck at without a reason, we should strike back again very hard; I am sure we should – so hard as to teach the person who struck us never to do it again.” —Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre ❄️ #RememberResistRediscover

My preferred cure for Monday’s: 🤓☕️📖
I just wanted to really quickly thank everyone who reached out to me about the small explosion that happened in NYC this morning. It’s been a bit of a strange day here - I was actually going to be at Times Square about 15 minutes after the explosion happened. This morning’s events could have been MUCH, much worse for NYC, and I certainly was completely fine - but no matter what, things like this really put little concerns and stressors in perspective. Let’s look out for one another this holiday season, guys. ❤️
In lighter news - I am picking out my next read this evening, which is ALWAYS a fun activity 😍 I have my eye on a couple options: a new Nordic Noir book, or perhaps a psychological suspense novel from a popular author who I’ve never tried before... decisions, decisions 😉 I might do a little glimpse into my options in my IG stories tonight, if you guys would be interested! 🤓
Wishing you a wonderful - and very safe! - week!!! ❤️
Do you have any particular books that you read during the festive season? I don’t and continue to read as normal but I do have movies that I love rewatching during this time of the year. My favourite movies to watch in the festive season are Lord of the Rings, The Holiday, Love Actually and of course some Harry Potter. 😉

In as few words as possible, try and sum up your personal aesthetic!
Not necessarily your instagram theme or your favorite things, but who YOU are. Personally, i think mine would be something like “vintage forestry alien” or something like that 😂 y’all prob don’t know this about me because it’s more of a ..... not-instagram topic, but i’m super passionate about aliens and outer space and science and the like. i also love all things vintage, the looks textures and history, and of course the woods is where my heart belongs ❤️😂
「In the world of safe hues, like black, red and white, yellow shouts: "Look at me. I'm happy!"」
Yellow is my happy colour 😂 It’s gonna be horrible I know, but let’s try a post without a filter. Bright and obnoxious 😉 ⠀
≪ Would you wear a bright yellow t-shirt? ≫
“One of the challenges with pain is that we can really only approach it through metaphor. It can’t be represented the way a table or a body can. In some ways, pain is the opposite of language.” In TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN, John Green attempts the nearly-impossible, putting into words the indescribable frustration and pain of mental illness. Through Aza, a teenage girl with debilitating OCD, we experience the ways in which relationships can be challenged by and overcome mental illness. Like all of Green’s books, the story is spurred forward by a romance, but in the end, it’s about friendship and the necessary work of trying to understand one another, even when it feels impossible. 🐢🐢🐢
Because @parabaereads insisted that this book is really good

"The murderer is with us, on this train now..." - Agatha Christie 📚
I'm having way too much fun putting my books in Christmas trees haha.
How is it that I never read this book? A classic on top of it! I'm a big believer in reading the book before watching the movie so that is exactly what I'm doing. I'm really enjoying the mystery and trying to figure out who did it! So many suspects!
Who else is reading this book? No spoilers!!!!!
Happy t u e s d a y ☕️
I caved and ordered some book mail........ any guesses? Should be here tomorrow! 😁

As a fan of Sports Romances, how could I not add the GORGEOUS books by @jaciburton ? I haven’t read the Play by Play series yet, but with covers like that I HAVE to add them to my shelves!

My goal for 2018 is to step out of my comfort zone a little more. I hear that's where success lies. Do you have any plans for the new year? If not, maybe we can hold hands and leap out of our comfort zones together. Like a synchronized gymnastics team. Do those even exist? I don't know lol 😅
