🚨 MORON ALERT 🚨 did some more intervals this evening and forgot to turn my watch off until 5 bloody minutes after I’d finished 🤦🏼♀️ FML. ⠀
On the plus side, good run around the streets tonight 🏃♀️🐢
•••And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling. ••• Never cease to seek adventure. This is the kind of zest for life that I aim to model for Mia (my daughter): Tangled hair, sweaty clothes, and eyes full of wonder. #anythingispossible#IMFL
Medal 🏅 Monday. Blood, sweat & tears literally all earned me this medal. I will first of all say, putting aside my sickness & wind, I truly enjoyed Philadelphia Marathon. As I continue to write this post I will explain the pros & cons that lead me to getting this medal. Let’s start off with the bad. Cons: I have been sick for several days, and that morning I was up so early I totally forgot to take any medicine 🤦🏽♀️ It rained just prior to the start; stopped at 645am, but that was long enough for my sneakers and socks to get wet. I have many blisters despite my toe caps and body glide. 40+ mph winds 💨 I don’t think I need to elaborate on that! Right after I ate my waffle, my post nasal drip just didn’t mix & I threw up in my mouth. Because I couldn’t really swallow much since my throat was so sore, I couldn’t eat my Gatorade chews. I NEED snacks! I rolled my ankle in a pothole! 😱 Since I just decided to register for this race after doing baystate marathon, none of my friends could run. I really missed my running buddies #minions Lol Also the sleeve of my shirt is definitely ruined due to the amount of runny nose wiping 🤧My garmin was also very wonky yesterday. I think it was thrown off by so many people there or the big buildings. It said mile 7 I ran a 6:59. I can tell you that this 100% a lie lmao! Okayyy so now on to the positives.
Pros: I RAN A MARATHON!!! And actually I kept running through the chute at the finish so I ended up with 27 miles 🙈🙌🏼 Another plus was that I didn’t chafe anywhere which usually never happens !! Another positive is that I never stopped. I wanted to so many times especially after the waffle incident 😬 even though I slowed my pace, I never stopped or walked, not even once. When it was raining at 6am I thought for sure I was doomed and that sugarloaf was bound to repeat itself, but I was so happy when the rain stopped before 7am. Philadelphia spectators are truly WONDERFUL!!! The crowd support was like no other. In fact I never even turned on my music. I ran this marathon alone, that’s something I have never done before either. I always thought I needed someone else to get me thru. Last all the race goodies & gifts from Eric!
Day 1 week 1 - let the marathon training begin 🙈
40 mins at 10:58 pace on the treadmill.
Wow that was hard. Harder than it should have been. Particularly given how good Saturday's run felt. It was definitely more of a mental than physical battle tonight #marathontraining
Medal Monday...from yesterday! Pic #1 near the finish doing some high fiving. As you can see I was completely over dressed for the surprisingly warm North Wales weather!🤣 When I reached the summit of the first climb I took off my gloves and at the top of Great Orme ⛰️ I took off my Merino wool arm sleeves 😥 I had to leave the jacket on as my race number was pinned to it! D'oh! 🤦🔥🌡️ Pic #2 with Janet, one of my best friends from school who flew over from Dublin to race and got a massive 1:57 PB! 😀
Pic #3 The medal itself in front of Conwy Castle
You give life in what you give energy to

I believe in energy
This is the first thing you see in a person, you feel it. The energy is contagious it spreads and attracts similar energies and I know that most of you have this ability to feel things, this sensitivity capable of capturing these waves. Hey! That's why we understand each other so well is not it! We don’t always have the possibility to choose everything in our life, but we are always responsible of our energy 🤩😁 (love all those new emoticons so much 🤪🤨🧐🤯🤭 haha 😄)
Well !! I want to share with you some of my warm-up runs that I do before every workout at my gym. This picture is from my yesterday’s run 😊
Hope you had a happy Monday everyone, sending good vibes and energy from france ! 🌟✨💫 ----------------------------------------------------------

🌟✨💫 __________________________________________________________
#medalmonday Love that @scallywompus_events medals are always bottle openers or wine corks .. actually they’re usually just alcohol related 🤔😂 Maybe thats why we have so much fun at their after parties 😁 Felt great almost the entire race . We started at a 9:20 pace then kept a sub 9:00 pace for the majority of the miles then mile 10 I lost a little energy after going a little too fast too soon. When my watch went off at 10 I was like ✋🏻 I got my 10. My husband said umm you still gotta finish the race 😏😂 That last quarter mile I was a little over it by then but still crossed the finish with a smile 😁 #smilingsmyfavorite#soretoday#runrestrepeat#halfmarathontraining#sarunner#rnrsa
Turns out the fall I had during the Birmingham International Marathon did some nerve damage in my right arm when I came down heavily on my elbow. For a few days after I could barely turn over in bed or put any weight on my arm, but it gradually got better, then I hit a plateau. I still have arm strength in certain planes but I struggle to push away from my body, and if I run and hold my arm in a position I have an intolerable pain after 14km, which I really struggle to shake out.
So....k tape and a basic set of recovery exercises for now. I was also told to cut back on gym and running if possible. I just shook my head 😂
I'm gutted there's no quick fix, but I'm glad I know what it is now, I was getting fed up of waking up in pain 4-5times a night! The recovery starts here 😬
Back on my running drills. It’s been a while that I couldn’t perform them. But today I felt great. 🙌🏃🏻♀️
I usually do 1 or 2 rounds of these drills:
. High knees
. High knees but kick
. Quick feet
. Backward running
. Straight leg shuffle
. Sideways leg bounding
. Lateral bounding
. Kick outs ( low and high knee)
. Vertical high knee jump
. Strides #runningdrills
I love starting out the week right with an early Monday morning run. 💥 My 6 mile run actually occurred during the dark morning hours, and then I waited until it got light to take this picture. (Which, by the way, our sunrise is not until 9:22am. 😒) 🌄 #ohalaska#winterrunning#anchoragealaska
So here they are..all the medals. Not many at all 🙈 My first medal and first ever race was London, since then I caught the running bug and wanted to do more. Not only race but raise money for a special charity. At the moment I've got MK half left in December. I'm not running much at the minute as life, being a mum working & house renovation is taking over. But sometimes I need to remember what I've done this year I guess we all do and not be too hard on ourselves. I've promised myself a posh medal hangery thing when we finally move in and next year to hang some more bling 🌟💜 #medalmonday

Give Thanks. Seems like an especially good week for that. I'm thankful for each and every one of you who takes the time to read my posts, make me laugh, support and encourage me. I am so grateful for this community who constantly inspires me and shares the same passion for running and fitness in the way that I do. In a world that can be full of so much negativity I'm happy to have this little square corner of daily motivation & positive vibes. ❤️ #sappyonamonday#thankful#bebetter
Still feeling rubbish so trying to find some vague #mondaymotivation and wondered if there’s any differences in these two pics in terms of body shape etc.? (Yup attention seeking post 🙄). I have lots more clothes on in the one on the left so it’s hard to get a true comparison I guess!
Pic on the left was taken during last years Gosport Half (Nov 2016) and the one on the right is from the Dublin Marathon 3 weeks ago. In terms of weight there’s not a huge difference, maybe a kilo or two but I feel so much fitter and toned now. I’ve incorporated weight training regularly into my regime as running just never toned me, I could run and run and whilst it would help me maintain a healthy weight, I still felt a little ‘wobbly’ and I no longer do. .

#medalmonday ......still can’t quite believe I have one of these beauties! Finally got my #racerecap of #tcsnycmarathon up on the blog! It’s very sentimental! So, so many people gave me such support over the weekend, it was so special! Link in bio if you fancy a read!
Lundi, après un week end d’un jour 🤦🏽♀️ !
Ça a été compliqué de se lever...
De sortir du lit, de se motiver !
Mais je l’ai fait 💪🏼.
30 Minutes intensives d’abdo !
TRACK TUESDAY and sometimes you just have to stop and admire the view 🌞The prettiest RUNRISE this morning as we watched the sky change colour so many times 🙌🏻 It’s days like these that make the EARLY starts so worthwhile✨ 10km with some speed thrown in and boy did it feel GOOD 🎉 🏃🏼♀️ J x
