Well, the fall here in Michigan isn’t as brilliant as it was when I visited last year, but we did find pockets of loveliness like this spot here. Today the ‘Fall Hunters’ (that would be me and my family ☺️) will be on the prowl for more! Wish us luck!
I watched several lizards prey on grasshoppers last week at Catalina State Park in Oro Valley, Arizona. I believe this one is a Sonoran Spotted Whiptail. This and about one-third of all whiptail species are unisexual, consisting only of females. Offspring are clones of their mothers. Wrap your head around that.
