A: I think so, although we’re all human and sometimes our brains get ahead of ourselves. Baby steps.
A:I think a lot of it is how one is raised and the experiences we go through, but mostly what we choose to learn from those experiences.

Life has been busy and last week my body stopped me in the middle of my tracks to slow me down. I did not feel well and therefore had to skip last week of practicing this pose. For day 5 of #yogisgratitude we are choosing a strength pose that utilizes strength in the entire body. All of the warrior poses make me feel so strong throughout body and soul and I feel #warrior3 / #virabhadrasana3 has become my personal favorite version! 🌸🕉️

This week I have been thinking a lot about what love means to me, and about my experience of that idea before I discovered Yoga.
I have always been so motivated and driven by a need to feel loved, accepted, and desired - always by something or someone outside of myself.
It made me think about a conversation I once had with Sarah Powers, a huge inspiration of mine. We had spent five days in silence, meditation and practice. I opened up to her about how much I struggled, with how giving myself that space felt so confronting, because most of all I didn’t like being me.
She looked at me and said ‘ Why don’t we change that to, I don’t like being with parts of me ‘. It helped me so much, she told me the boy she saw; enthusiastic, passionate and loving - i try to focus more on those parts of who I am today, and I accept the other parts as an element of the complete, imperfect human being that I am.
The practice helps.

DAY 6 | Any Ankle Stretch 👣
For this ankle stretch (if you decide to choose it), the full stretch can be intense so if you have never done it before, I have provided some variation! 💪🏼
The first picture will be where you start out - sitting on your ankles and for some people, they can already feel a stretch here. If you want to go deeper, slide on to the second picture, where you tilt back and allow more pressure to be placed on the ankles. And only if you are injury free, you can move on to the third picture, where you take your hands off. Please please please do what is comfortable for you and not push yourself for just a picture 🤗🙏🏼
Today, I am grateful for the mini rain showers that we had this morning! Our state is constantly in a state of drought so whenever there is rain, it makes me happy. Also - doing yoga while it’s light sprinkling is one of my things to do. There’s an extra calmness with rain that I love 🌧
