HASHTAG THIS! I kinda gave up on Instagram for a hot minute- not like full fledged just stopped posting, but I stopped relying on it to make me feel like I was succeeding. If that makes sense. I stopped tracking my numbers and I certainly wasn't worrying about my content. I honestly haven't shot anything new intentionally in weeks. In the grand scheme of things it just didn't feel important. Not because I don't love connecting with ya'll because I do but because I needed to focus on really scaling my business not just scaling my Instagram. I wanted to give those who continuously reach out the attention they deserved and I wanted to just work on something that didn't make me feel like I was spinning my wheels. I mean if you think about it - as far as most of our Instagram concerns are superficial. Followers do not = business growth or success. Conversions don't always = paying customers. I want my time on Instagram to be efficient and impactful without the stress! I recently had to put my big girl pants on and admit my business was not consistently bringing in what I need it to. It hurts to say it. Instagram wasn't helping- it wasn't hurting but it just doesn't seem to be the power house it once was and I felt my attention was needed elsewhere. So long story short I know you all feel the same way! I know you're aching for some new ideas and you might even be wondering if this is worth it anymore. The good news is I've damn near perfected my new approach to Instagram and I'm about ready to share it! What are your thoughts on the gram? Comment below If you want a shout when I release this new info! •
And saving the first for last ... my first painting in the night series, based on photography by my boyfriend, Rob Forrester. This scene is just down the street from our house:
Night on Lombard/acrylic on canvas/20 x 30 x 1.5 inches/Portland, Oregon 2017. Gallery wrapped, ready to hang. $450. Come to Portland Open Studios this weekend, or buy on my website (listed in my bio).
LONG CAPTION COZ IT'S 2 AM & MOST PEOPLE DON'T READ LONG CAPTIONS HERE ANYWAY 😂
It's taking me sooo long to edit my travel photos, but no this isn't my photo. Quite honestly, I've been lazy, and whenever I'm stuck in a rut, I always look for nice photos that I know I can't take/shoot (just yet, lol). My fave resources have always been @kaboompics and this one's from @unsplash. And @pexelsphotos too. ❤ @previewapp makes it easy for me to explore photos via unsplash. Win!
It's crazy because I've always called this Insta account my alter ego, haha! Coz this is like my Instagram feed experiment but it turned out to be my creative obsession, whatever kind of creativity I'm talking about. I want to keep colorful and pastel photos. But then people say to keep it real on Instagram or that Instagram is already too staged nowadays. Well of course, we only post the nicest photos we can get but that doesn't mean we're not hungry or struggling at times. LOL
Don't throw shade on people for wanting to have nice photos on Insta though. Go on, post your OOTDs and travel photos all you want if doing that makes you happy. Post even your cup noodles photo!! Just don't be too consumed by this whole Insta thing (likes, followers, etc) that you forget to live your true life. It's easy to get jealous of all the shiny and glittery stuff on Insta so sometimes it's best to step back to put things into perspective. Ayt.
Look what 2 am thoughts made me do - my longest caption ever.
#ThisDeservesToBeABlogPost 😂 Nway, for my other accounts I have @reagenes for the real thang, and @streetsquared for my street photography attempts. 😊
Did you see this fun striped sign I made for @gigglesgalore? I love puns, stripes, and Halloween, so this pretty much contains all my favorite things. Now, if I can just figure out how to make it dispense candy... 🍬🍭🍫😂 Anyway, head over to the blog to learn more! Link is in my bio.
It's getting interesting 💙💗💚 Learned today how important it is to stay in the moment, and take one guided step at a time. To follow my hunches with each move and stay connected. When I go off on a tangent, and get ahead of myself, the painting stops working. Just like life ✨ #paintingwisdom#morningartpractice
Celebrate fall with this mustard jersey knit shirt by Style & Co! 🍂 Think you look awful in yellow? Join the club! But the good news is you can totally pull it off - just add in another shade that flatters you by your face, and you’re golden! 😉 As an example, I paired it here with a plum blazer and multicolor scarf that ties in the yellow but has flattering greens and pinks as well (for sale in another listing). Neutral tweed skirt and heels finish off the seasonal look - and plum tights would be extra grand, but I forgot to include them. The shirt features fun details like brass buttons, cuffed and tabbed elbow sleeves, v-neck, and front button pockets; excellent condition. •

Throwback to my first day at NYFW, I had very mixed feelings about it, didn’t even like it at first 🙀 but thanks to my #BlogHer friend @noneesworld for the great company and taking this awesome picture 😘
I guess I should show you the final piece from my timelapse yesterday, huh? Soooo... here's some art for your eyeballs 👀 ⠀

#lifeframerstories
"Halloween?! I thought you said Hallowine!" 🍷
Happy Friday Eve, friends! 🎉
Do you enjoy a good #ThrowbackThursday as much as I do? During the Holiday oriented months like October, I torture myself by looking back on seasonal photos from previous years. 🎃
This calendar from @throwbackprints has me in awe. Mostly because, I now have photos in a print form that I was way behind on. This company combines photos from your past Instagram posts and turns them into a monthly calendar. If you want one for yourself or even as a Christmas present for someone else, use code MYSTICAL10 for 10% off your order. 🗓📷 #sponsored
DID YOU KNOW?!... that color can have a large impact on your emotions?⬇️ ⠀
Not only can it boost your mood and the moods of others, but it can also be used as a form of therapy. For instance, this vivid coral color is used in holistic color therapy to provoke a feeling of vitality, happiness, and increase energy levels. I'll take that with my morning coffee! ☕️
Sometimes when you end up with odd shaped wood pieces...you realize that an avocado would fit perfectly into it 🙃 Do you want this little fellow? Its listed in my Etsy now and can be made into an ornament, magnet, or standalone art piece...your choice! 🥑
Today we are heading out on a 2 day trip down to Philly! I’m excited to explore old Philadelphia and even more excited that I am starting to plan more trips! My @drink3water has helped me so much with getting work done and planning more trips I love coffee but after awhile it gets old it’s nice to be able to just drink water and still have the energy that I get from coffee.
Follow along on my stories to explore Philly with us❤️ if anyone has an recommendations on things to do let me know in the comments⤵️ #drink3water#caffeinewater#3water
I'm working outside my comfort zone on this itty bitty 6x6 for the @americanmosaics show at @sofaexpo! Smalti portrait.😳 What do you think, are the colors working better on the left or right side? Also...thinset....everywhere. #remindertoself#itsgonnabeokay 😂
A sweet customer wanted a turquoise bar and a vertical bar! 😍This turquoise bar has this texture and marbling in it that is beautiful, not to mention vibrant! I am thinking about adding a vertical marble bar to the shop, considering it's twin is my best seller! 😀
