Fought to forget.
Beaten to believe that we are nothing.
With words and whips.
Even generations later we carry wounds.
Not physically, because we think we are free.
Mentally the slavery has crippled us.
Our moral standards and brotherhood,
Forgotten in the fight to survive.
We turned against each other.
Not knowing we are only crippling ourself.
The most powerful pillar of strength.
Reduced to a helpless mess.
But when will you realize.
Understand that its not just to survive.
But to fight.
Rebel with words.
Rebel with knowledge.
Educate, liberate, emancipate.
Your mind, your brother, your race.
We had forgotten we are strong.
When will the prodigal son return.
To claim his land, his riches his rights.
This illusion we live is stifling our senses.
We have forgotten how to be free.
We have forgotten our days in Africa. ~amaia
Do you know me as I am? Or do you know me as who you think I am? I want to know you as who you think you are.
Will you name one of the things that makes you, "YOU"? #smileyouarebeauuutiful#illision#reality#understanding#seeclearly
Thanks @elephantjournal - “And I would like you to know that (so far) I am so grateful, I am tired, wet from the salt spray, I have stood by the shore all day and all my adulthood, day after day and some nights. But now I am ready to kiss the heart of a woman brave enough to feel fear and give voice to it. In voicing our fears we introduce oxygen and in so doing give our fires life. And yet I shall fondly look back at those times of loneliness at the water, the rock of the deep ocean, the creak of the wood that buoys me, the feeling of my tired hands shaking against the oars as I pull again, again against strong waves.” ~ @waylonlewis, #thingsiwouldliketodowithyou 📕Get the book: elephantjournal.com/books (or click link in bio) ❤️ This #Spring , #yoga#studios , #bookstores & retail get 10 books, 50% off 📕📕📕📕📕📕📕📕📕📕⠀
