Here's a closer look at my previous painting...I loved reading everyone's insight to this painting, so thank you 😊
The subject of this painting was the death of our beloved prophet Muhammad pbuh. I wanted the gold star to symbolise the message/or the messenger and the gold lines or rays extending from this star to represent the spreading of the message.
Just outside the gold star there is an area I have painted with grey/red/ black tones and this is the part that shows the death. The grey symbolises the uncertainty and confusion that the people felt at news of the death, the red is the anger that came when the news reached people, they were angry that someone could even say such a thing. The black tones represent the Angel of Death.
After this area you have a gold lining or a ring, which is the moment of light or hope when people realise they need stand together. They remember that even without the messenger himself pbuh the message still lives and they must continue to spread this word. You then enter the green and blue part of the painting where there is a feeling of endurance, growth, unity, faith and heaven.
The watered affect at the edges of the pattern resemble the properties of water itself and how it moves freely, illustrating how the word of Islam moved. Something else that @artofmoustafahussan mentioned was how we associate purity with water and this can be translated in the painting as the message that is being spread is pure message.
I enclosed the entire design in a hexagon shape because I didn't want the watered affect to give the feeling of the message being diluted.
Gosh I tried to keep that as short as possible, I hope it was easy to follow!
