🇮🇸 Strokkur: A geyser that lies east of Reykjavík. It went off every 10 minutes, and was fun to watch every time. Iceland is resourceful with its geothermal energy. You can drink the water that comes of the tap anywhere in the country, and even the hot water in the showers are heated naturally from the hot springs. However, it does smell like sulfur so don't be surprised about the "scents" if you ever visit. 😉 It took my nose some getting used to, but after a week I didn't notice it so much anymore. Nature never gets boring to me, especially in places where there are more scenic shots than people. It was a wonderful feeling to be alone with nature. ✌

Mardi Himal Trek essentially has always been an off the trail walk. A story goes that photographer Basil Goodfellow gave the first view of the peak to westerners from his slides when he visited Nepal in 1953. Since then this trail has been trying to grow out from the shadow of other mainstream routes as very limited travelers have information about this trail. Things have been taking a quick turn since last decade as the route is getting the attention it's worth because travelers seem to have gotten exhausted by the touristy trails. More trekkers are opting for this route for a view of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre ranges, to walk through bamboo and rhododendron forest. And the best part is that you can have all this natural beauty without having to deal with large crowds. As this trail is gaining popularity, all season lodges have been operating in the area since 2012.
