I love finding old work from some of my favorite writers/artists. Brubaker is amazing, I first discovered his work through Criminal and then went on to read his big two work (Captain America / Gotham Central mainly). Just about everything the man writes is rad but to sit down and take in something he was both the writer and artist on is something entirely different. This book feels somewhere between an early Kevin Smith and Harvey Pekar but from a by Mr of a street-kid perspective. It's an examination of Brubakers own faults and mistakes, as an extremely honest one.
