Such a great little chart showing the drastic effects of inflammation on our bodies.
Did you know that large amounts of collagen in organic bone broth naturally fights inflammation (especially in the guts and joints)? True story! But did you also know that we also add natural inflammation-fighters (such as Reishi Mushrooms and Schisandra berries) to our broth to boost it's healing properties? Also a true story! If you suffer from any of these inflammatory issues, give our broth a try for six weeks to truly experience the amazing healing change it will bring to your body!

🌀Cortisol and Clear Skin 🌀
Cortisol is a hormone that occurs naturally in our bodies; when administered for medical purposes, it’s called hydrocortisone. Cortisol has many functions in the body but it is most commonly prescribed for inflammation caused by allergic reaction. 🤒Inflammation occurs when the body’s white blood cells are working to protect the body against bacteria or other foreign substances. This inflammatory response also occurs with acne caused by bacteria, and comes in the form of unflattering redness and swelling – not to mention, soreness! Although it may be something you’ve never heard of, hydrocortisone can be applied topically to treat inflammation for acne, making it less apparent and easier to conceal. It doesn’t treat acne, but it makes for a great quick fix!
Today's feature is good old Polysporin. This particular tube is filled with hydrocortisone, my secret acne fighting tool! Shhhh... 🤐 I find that it works well to reduce redness and even soreness, when the soreness is caused by swelling. I get a lot of acne, of all different sorts. Cystic acne is probably the acne type I use this most for because of the extreme redness of surrounding tissues. While it won't get rid of acne on its own, it works to recuse redness and swelling really quickly. We all know speed is key when that special event or date is coming up!! -----
#summerofstem Today's theme lined up well with my photo: outdoors! I love being outside but allergies to everything that grows makes it hard to enjoy all the summery goodness :( -----
Erica Julson joins Rebecca this week to talk all about food sensitivities, allergies and intolerances. Erica has a background in health psychology and retrained as a registered dietitian nutritionist to follow her passion for helping people to eat well for health. She and Rebecca get into the differences between immune and digestive responses to food, and how to know which you have. They also talk about how reducing inflammatory response is key when treating SIBO, and how vitamin deficiencies can lead to autoimmunity issues. Erica also explains why eating as broad a diet as possible is key to our overall health and wellbeing.

Ugh. I got cheesed. I got careless at the salad bar and went for the hardboiled eggs in my Wednesday salad. Well some cheese musta fallen in there and got in my salad. I could taste it but it was too late. My cheeks are normally pink but when I get dairy or gluten or soy, my body has a huge inflammation response and my cheeks get redder like I'm in the hot sun :( I get congested and if I willingly eat a bunch of it or get it many days in a row I'll almost certainly get a sinus infection.
Gluten is worse. I'll get dizzy even and then we'll just say it's downhill after it gets swallowed.
It's hard for family and friends to really get that I don't eat these things Bc they cause my body harm and discomfort. It's been over 4years since I've gone 100% off those Foods and it's made a difference. Also it really grinds my gears when people say inflammatory responses to food is made up. It's not, it's just not a normal response. Normal ppl please eat your dairy and gluten.
If you think you have an "intolerance" listen to your body. Food should give you energy, not snot up and turn beet red. #dairyfree#glutenfree#igotcheesed#itsnotbychoice#soyfree#reallymakesyouparanoid#listentoyourbody#inflammatoryresponse#nothanks

When your world seems like it's been turned upside down. Laugh hysterically at your massive mop! I woke before the crack of noon to entertain you lovely people!
My chest is super sensitive and my eyes are puffy. Usually doesn't happen every morning, but I don't panic when I fight a flare and have a little puff. I did a long magnesium and essential oil soak last night, submerging my head to try and draw out the last bit of this inflammation. It doesn't bother me as much anymore because I am familiar with the process. I am seeing tremendous improvement. I'll keep with my diet, relaxation and steady getting back to more of what I used to be. I did something I normally don't do during a flare but I needed to get the grit feeling of my face. Prep Scrub is the one of the only big name items I use anymore. It exfoliates gently and reveals the fresh skin underneath all that blah!
You dedicate your life to a routine: you train hard, eat right, supplement right, and try to get enough sleep. But what if all that hard work and supplementation was being sabotaged by poor gut health?
The digestive system is really the corner stone of our wellbeing, as it is involved in so many processes. If our digestive system is in order, we feel great, we can perform at the level we want, and we can push ourselves to make bigger and better gains in the gym.
If our gut health is poor, we can end up with impaired immune and nervous systems, and it can also wreak havoc with our hormonal function throughout the body. This is because our gastrointestinal tract is loaded with neurons that release the same neurotransmitters found in the brain. This is why you have "gut feelings" and any upset to this equilibrium can throw your body and mood into chaos.
This "leaky gut" means that instead of foods being broken down, absorbed, and eliminated, partially digested foods can now cross through the damaged area of the intestinal lining and enter the blood stream directly. This leak can cause intolerances that then initiate an inflammatory response in the body and the release of stress hormones. One of these stress hormones is cortisol, which further taxes the body and starts to impair the body's immune system. This can then lead to a host of issues that may not seem related to the impaired gastrointestinal tract, like allergies, skin conditions, impaired performance, and stubborn weight gain to name but a few.
Triplex by Plexus is formulated to help heal leaky gut and enriches the unique ecosystem in your gut . Get really healthy and try it . Link in bio to purchase. Thank you.
I'm a little obsessed! :3 *In Ireland, cows graze on the green pastures of small family farms. This milk is churned to make Kerrgold butter.* I never used to do coffee. Never dreamed of ingesting pats of butter either. Bullet proof and Kerrygold butter has been a lifesaver to get the inflammation in my head to heal.
The end of last month I had come home quick to make my coffee when I realized I needed to pick up butter. Well my local store was out and I was stressed for time. As I was talking with stocker about Bulletproof a lady overheard and spoke out that "butter was butter". @@ The stocker recommended a brand I'm familiar with and I took the stick and headed home. I'm not sure if it was psychosomatic or if our butter here really does have some pollutants in it. At the end of each trial I found myself really nauseous at the end. After that and being worn down I ate at a new place (the soup want cooked through) and the inflammation took over my gut.
I am very very conscious of what I take in and how it effects my body. I've only felt genuine nourishment from Kerrygold. Here's to never running out! :) Thank you for an incredible product.

What is inflammation?
Inflammation simply means that the body is on fire. The inflammation or fire can exist at low levels or become a raging blaze. Cancer is an excellent example of a raging fire. Inflammation is caused by acidosis from what you eat, drink, breathe, what you put on your skin, what you think and what you feel.
Inflammation is diagnosed as an "itis" where the inflammation is discovered will be determined what type of "itis" it is. Basically, in a certain location in the body. Regardless, an "itis" is still inflammation, not a "disease" to fear about. "Itis's" are treated by the allopathic medical community with a steroid shot like cortisone Prednisone, or the like. Since the adrenal glands use cholesterol to make cortical-steroids, the question is: " Why don't my adrenal glands produce adequate amounts of their own cortisone?" (Hmm, maybe my Doctor put me on meds that lower my cholesterol) Answer is that the adrenal glands are weak or underactive in the tissue that produces these steroids, the body cannot adequately defend itself against strong Inflammation. *LOCAL INFLAMMATION - is confined to a specific area. Redness, swelling and heat are experienced from dilation of the vascular system period pain can result in these areas from the swelling and chemical reaction on nerve receptors. *SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION - oftentimes goes unnoticed until destruction occurs. Hormone imbalances, high acid forming diets and heavy chemical ingestion through Foods, air and cosmetics create this type of information. Most of the time, this information goes unnoticed until you begin to experience hypoactivity of the tissues, glands and organs. As your glands failed to do their job, this creates a domino effect, causing a cascade of disease symptoms. 🔥Pain, burning, swelling and degeneration
Don't let your Itis' (acute & again acute) turn into osis' (chronic & degenterative)

Deadly nightshades - Do you really need to steer clear? Gwyneth says yes, research says no (traditional medicine says maybe - just to be confusing). Deadly nightshades are a (admittedly scary sounding) group of plants that include tomatoes, sweet potatoes and chilli. The basic argument against deadly nightshades is that they are traditionally thought to cause inflammation however new research shows that extracts of different nightshades actually have anti-inflammatory properties. So while the jury is still out as to whether deadly nightshades actually cause inflammation, what we do know is that reducing added sugars, processed foods and vegetable oils (replacing them with extra virgin olive oil and omega 3-rich fish oil), as well as eating a vegetable-rich, gut-friendly diet is your best bet to reduce inflammatory processes in your body.
