Getting out of bed in the morning is proving a seriously tricky task @vintagecuratorhouse as all 5 of the bedrooms are mini relaxed rustic paradises. This is the master suite where we have been sleeping which has got the most enormous and amazing chandelier hung from the rafters. However, i am glad i did manage to haul my ass out of bed as today an incident occured at a local leisure centre that made me laugh so hard I nearly lost control of my pelvic floor. We decided to take the kids for a swim but, on arrival at the local pool, we discovered a sign which indicated that unless men were wearing swimwear as tight as a sausage skin they weren't permitted in the pool. In case we were in any doubt about the rule, there was also a vending machine full of budgie smugglers for sale. There followed a brief standoff whilst Mr Malmo railed against French bureaucracy gone mad and made lots of noises about Brexit possibly being a good idea before he finally cracked, ploughed 30 Euros into the vending machine and headed to the changing rooms along with all the other male members of the family to slip into some trunks that were similar in size to the hotpants Kylie wore in the Spinning Around video. I knew he was having a sense of humour failure on an epic scale but unfortunately I couldn't control my laughter as he and my brother in law emerged from the changing rooms wearing trunks so small they were dangerously close to showing the French some English Saucisson. They looked about as comfortable as two stamp collectors who had accidentally gatecrashed an orgy. Has anyone else fallen foul of this obscure swimwear byelaw and know why the French insist on such small trunks other than as a way humilate unwitting passing English tourists?
We’ve not left the house today! I have finally managed to get the washing pile under control (give it a few days and it’ll be full again!) and Oliver and I made a banana and Nutella loaf this afternoon. •
Now to start tackling the ironing pile 🙈

Happy Monday y'all ✨ I challenge you (and myself) to find the beauty in every situation you're handed this week. Find some extra special gratitude in the small things—like shadows, clouds or trees. Be in awe about something. Stop to appreciate. Be grateful. Be kind. Be loving. // Image by the incredibly talented @annasphotographytx //
My favourite book shop @scarthinbooks . A trip to Derbyshire would not be complete without a pilgrimage here. I am up north with millions of family and I am very happy. (I am a bit sad however, to be apart from @bison.pics for a week. Feel like I’m missing an important appendage.)

I am craving Paris today. I want to walk the streets eating nutella crepes, stop at a sidewalk cafe for a strong espresso, window shop in le marais, have duck confit and a glass of vin at that little restaurant down the ally with the white lights strung above, and go to sleep pleasantly exhausted from all of my attempts at clumsily speaking and trying to understand French again. ⠀⠀
It's interesting to me how people either love or hate Paris. I adore her. I've spent so much time exploring her streets and she always has something new to show me. Everything about Paris captivates me and fills me up. But it's been years since we've hung out, so I think Paris and I need to reconnect in 2018.⠀⠀
Are you already starting to plan your adventures for 2018? Where are you going?
I'm overjoyed by all the messages on my last post and I want to say a massive thank you for been so supportive. There’s still lots of ready-to-ship items available so plenty of time to stock up before I close for the Holidays! Thanks for the adorable picture of our spice pinafore @arriane #emmiesroom
Day one of half term has been... erm, wild! Although, we did visit the library for a little while earlier and these boys were little angels! So I'm sure it has something to do with our house?! Half terms & holidays in the summer - no problem! Half terms and holidays when it's cold - uh oh!
Bacon care of business // Getting the keys to our new digs today and, after almost a month of on the road/staying with friends/Airbnb’s I can say with 1000% certainty that I’ve never been more excited for my own shower/bedroom/kitchen (I miss cooking so much 😭/I feel like I’ve worn the same 3 outfits for 2 weeks/I may or may not be losing my sanity). Now if the moving company could just hurry up and deliver our stuff....#movingisfunsaidnooneever#whothoughtmovingacrossthecountrywasagoodidea 💁🏻🤦🏽♀️🙅🏻
