You know I've been working way ahead so I can take time off from recipe testing/shooting this Fall. 🤰🏼 And tomorrow, my assistant Steph is coming over to help me get started on #sallyscookiepalooza recipes! This year will be year 5 in my annual Christmas cookie countdown series. I can't believe it!! So, needless to say, we're going big. I've already tested a few recipes, but need a couple more ideas. Any requests for new holiday cookie recipes? 🍪🍪🤔 I already have spritz cookies and linzer cookies in #sallyscookieaddiction for you to bake this holiday season!
Black Sesame Buns for #Funfridaybrekkie and for comfort. Woke up very suddenly this morning at 4am for no reason and when I decided to check my phone to see what time it was, there were messages from my bestie who is away in Barcelona right now, he was reassuring us that they were okay. So then of course my brain switched on and I found myself clicking on link after link of news about the events that unfolded in Barcelona ... I wasn't going to be able to sleep after that. So I got up and did what I usually do and baked my sourdough and warmed up some of these buns for breakfast - something just to settle my restless mind. I never know how to feel after an attack like this is reported - I don't want to walk around scared of the world but I don't want to want to feel like this is the norm. On my IG newsfeed there's a bubble where it's a world where neither the Barcelona or the Charlottesville attack is barely mentioned or discussed and it offers a nice escape but it sometimes leaves me a bit confused about whether I want to mention it in my posts or not . Offline I'll talk to my friends and family about it but online where everything is fairly succinct and captured in an emoji, I just don't have the words to create the depth behind the discussion I want to have #feedmeichi
#new Strawberry Bundt Cake on the blog today. It's all about the butter, sugar and eggs today because sometimes you just get that baking itch!
Recommendations for food colouring brands please? The supermarket stuff isn't cutting it. Used more than double the quantities stated in the recipe, but these pink-white-green almond cakes have still turned out looking a bit insipid. Tasty though.
These coconut oil chocolate chip cookies will be the perfect snack for our road trip to Yosemite today! I got really into baking with coconut oil last year when I realized I was accidentally hoarding jars of it in my kitchen (🙈) and needed to start using it up. Thank you @somethingswanky for this awesome recipe!
A slice of Cinnamon Swirl Bread next to a tall glass of milk will help make the week go by a little bit easier, we promise! 😊 The swirls of nutty, sugar-cinnamon filling are just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth, without being too sweet. Give it a try and tell us how it turns out!
