For everyone who wants to know what I did with the #makrut lime/jeruk purut, I riffed on my mom's chicken satay recipe: I stir-fried chicken with garlic and shallots, squeezed some lime juice, seasoned with #kecapmanis (sweet soy sauce), salt and pepper, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes with lime leaves. Done! #indonesianrecipe#indonesianfoods // P.S. you can substitute the makrut lime juice with key limes and soy sauce and brown sugar for the #kecapmanis
These cold nights have us hankering for comfort food. Nothing is as filling as seafood risotto with HUGE langoustines grilled in garlic butter.
Picked up from the fish market while in Nice. In retrospect not a summer dish and trying to grill the massive langoustines in our tiny air bnb cooker was a stressful experience but we couldn't resist the produce on display. Managed to order in French but keeping the bones of the Dorade to be used as stock was lost in translation.
I've found my new favourite sushi spot 😱🙌🏼 I got the roll & roll lunch combo with a Banzai roll (my favourite) and a spicy tuna roll - so tasty, fresh, and a great deal! I also usually don't care for miso soup but this soup was delicious 8/10 #meleatery

New blog post- Liz’s version of meal prep! As Melissa said, we approach meal prepping differently (Liz = less regimented and Type A 😂, sticks to more basic recipes). Her breakfast this week is Melissa’s recipe for Chia Oatmeal (recipe coming soon!) and Spinach Salad with Salmon Cakes 💁🏼
RD tip: Use a green base! You can add pretty much anything to a bed of greens and it will still taste great. This allows you to get your added greens in for the day while still enjoying whatever you’re in the mood for! (Shoutout to @djblatner for this tip!).

This morning I had absolutely no idea what to make for our supper tonight....
I was totally clueless....
I usually nag everyone in the house the night before on what meal to prepare for the next day.
The usual answer is “Anything” or “I don’t know” 😏🙄 I was so tempted to order take outs but the long drive to the nearest halaal takeaway was totally out of the question.... After a few hours of digging into my freezer....I had a light bulb moment 💡🙌 Homemade Nandos Meal was what I was gonna make 💃🏻 Pictured:
Peri Peri Chicken
Grilled Corn on the Cob smeared with butter and dustings of cayenne pepper, salt & fresh thyme (ready to be grilled in the picture) .
Baked Rosemary & Thyme red skin potato wedges
Grilled Garlic & Parsley bread rolls (ready to be grilled in the picture) .
And a quick salad of sorts....
So I went from being totally clueless to cooking up a storm this afternoon.
To think that my first option was take outs 😱..... I have absolutely no recipes for any of the items on my menu but I will compile it and post it when I do.
