🏖 We’ve looked briefly at the handstand push-up in an advanced way, and now I want to dive deeper into the movement and progressions for it. I know you will enjoy this one guys, so let's get right into it! ⠀

🎯 Why Perform HSPUs? Mainly the HSPU is a great exercise to enhance your balance, strength, and coordination in an advanced way. Your muscles, joints, and ligaments are also activated in a very effective way. All of this will be leading you to both increased raw strength, balance, and muscle memory.

🤔 How To Progress? This is a great question and let us start from the top. To begin with, I recommend you start training the basics (push-ups, dips, core work, pull-ups etc). From there you should work further into progressive moves such as pike presses, handstand against a wall, planche leans, advanced dips etc. Doing this at least 3 x per week will keep you advancing very steadily.

✅ The most important factors of these photos are a few things (1) maintaining that almost perfect handstand throughout. (2) Leaning forward into the push-up and creating a triangle 🔺. (3) Countering the weight with your lower body and using your arms, core, and feet to pull yourself up. .

Tips for an effective Dumbbell Lunge Walk:

1️. Pay attention to form and control slow rate of movement, use light weight to guarantee 12 reps each side.
2️. Make sure knee stay behind toe.
3️. Keep upright posture.
4️. To increase time under tension lower body after step, squeeze on the bottom.
5️. Engaged core, Lowerback, Quad, Hamstring, Glute to keep good posture mid stride.
6️. Keep weight on heel of the foot.

When performing isolation exercises form is crucial.
-
The curl is the best way to grow the biceps when done correctly. The arm should be directly by your side and the elbow beside your hip. The only part of the arm that should move is the forearm, as you raise and lower your forearm the bicep will contract using the elbow as the fulcrum. .
Another important tip is to ensure you don't lean back when curling; if you have to lean back and utilize other accessory muscles to curl the weight, then it is too heavy. .
Start with a light weight and focus on form and squeezing the bicep at the top of the exercise. Control the weight on the way up and again on the way down. The biggest mistake is sacrificing form for weight, DO NOT make this mistake. .
Make sure your body is straight in line and focus on contracting the appropriate muscle.

Foot placement seems like a simple concept right? It might be obvious to a lot of intermediate to experienced lifters, but I've seen a few guys and gals making the mistake of pulling the weight up from a pretty crappy position.
·
Having the bar set up over your toes means the weight is probably out in front of you and not only means you'll put yourself in a pretty vulnerable position, but you'll also make the lift much harder for yourself.
·
Setting the bar up over your shoelaces/close to your shins/over your midfoot is a MUCH better and stronger position to execute the lift from.
·
You will be able to generate more power as you'll have much better leverage, and you'll give yourself the best chance to deadlift the weight without putting yourself at risk. ·

· ❌ The biggest mistake with calves is using momentum and not actually engaging the calf muscle out of the bottom of the movement where most of the work needs to be done
· ✅ To minimize the momentum and lack of activation a good mental reminder is to make sure you stretch for 2-3 seconds at the BOTTOM of the movement, causing a complete stretch in the muscle
· 🔥 I also enjoy stretching my calves in between sets to force more blood into the area and allow an increased range of motion during the set.

Successfully completed two workouts this weekend after a busy week finishing up my second last uni semester! (Yay!)
Today's workout incorporated different functional moves. I find it so important to include aspects of functional training in your overall regimen for optimal fitness and injury prevention.
Here's the workout breakdown:

✖️lunging cable press outs 3x15
✖️cable lunge punch 3x10 each arm ✖️alternating lunge to ball slam 3x15
✖️tricep med ball slams 3x12

Whilst calories aren’t the be all and end all, it’s important to consider the quality of calories you consume. 2,500 calories of crappy, sugary and bad fat-filled food isn’t the same as 2,500 of meats, fish, veggies, fruit and beans, rices or potatoes, which are filled with nutrients. 🤓

Spesso le persone mi domandano cosa devono fare per migliorare la propria forma fisica. A volte chiedo cosa mangino, o meglio, come pensino di mangiare. Tutti mi rispondono: “Io mangio bene! Ho tolto il fritto, non uso il sale e poi...non mangio tanto!”. Ecco: sul fritto ci siamo, sul sale potremmo parlarne, sul poco... apriamo un capitolo enorme! Soprattutto quando poi mi dicono che la sera hanno talmente fame che fanno fuori biscotti, tavolette di cioccolato o patatine😱! Non sono una nutrizionista ma questo tema mi appassiona talmente tanto da aver letto libri, partecipato a Master ed essermi confrontata con esperti del settore. Ho provato ad applicare su di me diversi metodi per sperimentare e capire prima di poter parlare di questo argomento. Mi sento di dire che, anche per esperienza personale, se la sera si ha talmente fame da voler mangiare il tavolo... forse non si sta bilanciando correttamente la propria dieta e quel “mangio poco” è veramente poco! Inoltre cerchiamo di non fossilizzarci sulle nostre convinzioni ma “aprire la mente” informandoci, leggendo e consultando uno specialista! Allora sì che i risultati arriveranno! E non sarà solo la nostra salute e il nostro corpo a giovarne... ma anche il nostro sorriso! 😊💜

Deadlift is a great exercise to make you strong. It allows you to lift up lots of weight, which causes your body to adapt by gaining more muscle and recruiting bigger muscle fibers. However, with more weight comes more risk.

Face pulls with external rotation is a terrific exercise for building a strong 💪 upper back and shoulders.

I like to use this exercise with light weight to activate the muscles of the rotator cuff prior to heavy pressing or any overhead exercises🏋️‍♂️.

It can also be used as an accessory strengthening exercise after completing your main upper body movements during your workout.

Perform Face Pulls w/ Ext Rotation in 3️⃣ easy steps:
.
1: Attach a rope or strap to a cable pulley set about face level and grab both ends with each hand.
.
2: Step back so your arms are fully extended and begin pulling your elbows backwards.
.
3: Squeeze your shoulder blades back and bring your hands through your face pointing your thumbs behind you.
.
Repeat for 3-4 sets of 15-20 reps 💪

I took advantage of the cooler weather and decided to try something new - Oat Bran. It was really yummy like finer steel cut oats without the long cooking time 😀 it is also slightly lower in carbs compaired to regular oats. It's a win from me! ❤
